Beware of Advantage Rent A Car
I booked a car with Advantage for my arrival in Las Vegas on March 15, 2024. However, upon reaching the office, the attendant, who was not wearing a name badge, insisted on selling me insurance coverage. I informed him that I already have my own comprehensive insurance policy and ample rental vehicle insurance through my credit company. Despite this, he demanded my insurance policy number and then proceeded to request my entire insurance policy and credit card documents. This was the first instance where any rental car company had requested such extensive documentation. Throughout the interaction, he continuously threatened to cancel my reservation if I did not comply with his demands. Refusing to be coerced into purchasing coverage that I did not require, I stood my ground. Eventually, he followed through on his threat and cancelled my reservation. As a result of this unacceptable treatment, I have decided never to rent a car from Advantage again. This company should change its name to "Take Advantage". Additionally, I intend to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the State Attorney General's office. I urge the company's CEO and CFO to investigate this matter along with similar issues that I have found online on Yelp, as they have contributed to a low rating for the company on both Yelp and the BBB website.
