Nice Fryer at a Great Price

4

The Bella Kitchen 1.5 L- 2.0 L Deep Fryer is okay. I have bought the Bella brand previously (a crockpot) and it was nice. This fryer seems to be made with a little less quality than I would have thought. It is satisfactory as far as how it fries food. I have had some issues with the controls - the temperature runs cooler than what it says so now I use a thermometer to really get the correct temperature. This was a very inexpensive fryer so if it lasts me a couple of years, I will feel like I got my money's worth out of it. The outside gets warm but not hot. The basket is an okay size and the styling of the machine looks nice when I have it on my countertop. This is not a large fryer and I would not recommend it for a family of more than 3. But for a small family, couple, or single person this is a good fryer. One of the advantages of it not being a huge fryer is that it is easy to store. I would buy this fryer again when this one dies if I could get a good deal on it.

Compact. Easy to clean.

Our kids love fried food occasionally. Who doesn't? We had been using a wok to fry food. It was rather messy when the oil sparked over the cooktop and the counter. Not to mention the odor in house after the frying. So we thought a compact size deep fryer with the cover on will fit the bill. We got this Bella Kitchen deep fryer in a holiday's sale a couple of years ago. The size is compact enough to fit on the counter next to our toaster. The size is about the same as our toaster. The stainless steel color matches up with toaster too. There is a temperature dial to control how hot the oil should be. I do not have a measuring gauge to test the accuracy but it seems to be working fine. The interior has a Teflon kind of coating. It makes cleaning very easy. The basket is like others using stainless steel wire mesh. But be careful not to scratch the Teflon housing with the basket. I have seen many demo unit (various brands) in the store are so terribly scratched. The basket is smaller than we would like. It does not hold much. You can raise and hang the basket above the oil to drift out excess. This is one thing I like even though it is common for many deep fryers. There is a filter on the cover to capture all the oil and perhaps the odor. I do not think the filter works properly to eliminate the odor though. Nevertheless, this cheap deep fryer does it job for small amount of food. It is definitely safer and cleaner than using the wok. We have not been using it much due to the basket size.

Bella Kitchen Deep Fryer is cheap so don't expect much

3

My husband bought this cheap thinking we needed a fryer in the house. We have used it a handful of times and have not been that impressed. But with the price it is what we expected. It is small so this would not be for wanting to fry a big meal. It would be good for a small batch of french fries or cheese stick type foods. It does not take a lot of oil and probably takes less time to heat up that a larger fryer. Performance It takes a bit long to heat and we find that we have to heat it longer than the indicator informs us to. Once heated we have never had a problem with it cooking the food as it should. Ease of Use Simple to use without having to figure out a lot of buttons. The basket has a place to sit up on when you are filling it are taking it out of the fryer. Durability We have had it a couple of years now and have not had any problems with it. With that said we have only used it a handful of times. Part of that is because we are not impressed with how the fried food taste but the other reason is we are not into making our own fried foods. The food basket is well made. Ease of Cleaning As far a dumping the oil out that is simple enough. But oil is never easy to clean up and we can not fault the fryer for that. The outside clean up nice.

Good fryer for small home cooking

3

The Bella 1.5L-2L deep fat fryer is a grea little machine that is for any small family. It is well built and actually has a pretty sleek design that could fit in with any modern kitchen decor. It has all stainless steel and silver accents. It's small siz gives it many pluses but also many disadvantages in comparison to other deep fat fryers. First off the small size allows you to put it anywhere in your kitchen, on any counter and store it in alot of places. Also, because it is only about a 2L fryer, then you dont have to use tons of oil in order to cook. But the problem with having such a small fryer is that it is very small and you cannot cook much food at the same time. The most important thing when deep fat frying is to make sure your oil is hot enough, but the more food you put in the more it breaks down the oil and cools it. Because it is such a small amount of oil, this happens alot easier. Do not expect to use this for anymore cooking than a family of 4. Overall if you are just looking to deep fat fry in the home for a few people at a time, this is a great deep fat fryer for a very inexpensive price.

It Works

I bought this at a great price at Kohls during the holidays. We had a larger fryer, but it used quite a bit of oil and we wanted to cut down on the amount of oil that we use so we decided to buy this smaller fryer. Since we are a family of four it works great because we don't fry too many items and since the amount of oil is less, the oil doesn't take as long to heat up. I always wait at least 10 minutes for the oil to heat up before I use it even though the indicator light is off signalying that it is ready to use as the thermometer is not always perfect. I didn't expect 100% quality at such a low price point, but it works to fry french fries, egg rolls. won tons, chicken bites and my favorite, shrimp tempura.

Bella 1.2 Litre - the little fryer that could

4

The Bella 1.2 Litre Deep Fryer is sturdy, a good value, works well and is down right cute! I got mine for Christmas and thought it was just another appliance to take up space in the kitchen, but it quickly proved me wrong. I've used it several times - makes great fries and more! The first time using it there was a bit of odor - the hot electrical smell, but I haven't noticed it since. I think it burned off some coating, and now it is fine. But use it in a well ventilated area. I like the fact that it is 1.2 litres, great for 1-2 people. Makes a decent order of fries. I also have used it for bacon. Have not tried batter dipped items yet, but that will be next. The basket is nice, I like the folding handle that doesn't take up space and it has a little flange to hold it on the side to drain things well. Unit heats toi a high heat quickly, so things come out crisp. It uses very little oil, due in part to the draining. A fun appliance. Probably not "heart healthy", but good eats!

Bella fryer is perfect for a small family

4

I bought the Bella deep fryer because I have finally become an empty nester or so we thought! I love watching the food Network channel and saw some interesting ideas that I wanted to try. I made fried zucchini and fried pickles. My husband loved the zucchini and my grandson kept snitching the fried pickles. It's a great fryer, but much too small for more than one person.
