When I first was in the market for a new carpet cleaner it was like trying to find a needle in a haystack. It wasn't my first rodeo but I knew that I needed something more compact, easy to use and extremely versatile as I have a handful of pets that leave their traces of dirt love all over my carpet. Upon further research, I found this Bissell Compact Cleaner and I must say that it was the absolute best purchase I have ever made. Besides it being compact, green (my favorite color) and absolutely adorable it has the power of being huge. The saying is true good thing come in small packages. That couldn't be further from the truth. This Bissell Compact Cleaner has really outdone itself in fighting the deeper stains and the ones on the surface. It has a great suction and a neat little sprayer with a brush to fight off nearly any stain that you come across. I was hesitant at first because I have a problem with one of pets eliminating on the carpet and I wasn't sure that this machine would take care of that but it did. It got every ounce of the stain out and the smell that came with it.

I originally purchased my Bissell Little Green a few years ago because I got sick of dragging my full size cleaner out every time someone spilled something or our puppy had an accident or tracked mud into the house. Since then it has continued to be one of the most useful, and versatile, cleaning tools I own. Obviously it is great for spills on carpets and area rugs (put a towel under the rug if possible on area rugs) but it is also great for stairs and curtains. I have also used it to freshen everyone's mattresses. I use it just like you would on the carpet, turn on a fan and in a few hours the mattress is dry and I swear you go to bed that night and it FEELS cleaner and fresher! Maneuverability I would have given it a 10 but the nozzle/handle part is a bit longer than I would like for being able to get into tight spots easily. Suction Performance I tend to use a pretty large amount of cleaning solution no matter what I am cleaning and it pulls out the excess in a few passes so that even really dense carpet is dry very quickly. Durability I have dropped it from halfway up the stairs, it was fine!

I need this product as I have a very recalcitrant dog who pees in the dining room all the time. She is relentless. The other Bissell machine works very well,but it's too big to lug all over the house. This little green is so easy to operate that even I was able to understand the directions. The ease of use and the thoroughness of the cleaning job are wonderful. I ordered more cleaner after I ran out (easy to do managing this crazy dog) and all work well to have a beautiful, sweet smelling carpet!!!

I have two children under 7 who spill constantly. Having tan carpet it use to drive me crazy. This machine is so light weight and strong that I can pull it out for any spill. It'll suck it right up and the solution keeps it from staining. I've also used this to clean the seats in my car.

I think I expected this to work miracles so it might be my own fault that I'm disappointed. When we first got our dog she had chronic diarrhea. We got the Little Green Compact to clean up the messes but it seemed to make it worse, grinding everything into the carpet, even when you went over spots gently. Eventually, I figured out that if you got a cup of water and basically soaked the entire area you could pull up a lot more mess. For that reason I wish they had a nozzle that didn't have any brush, just suction. I wish it was easier to get replacement brushes. It was next to impossible to keep them clean very long. This cleaner is designed for animal messes so of course the brushes are going to get clogged with animal fur. Ease of Maintenance It's easy to clean out the dirty water canister, but to clean the hose you have to keep the vacuum on and suck up water from the sink. I could never figure out a way to clean the inside of the hose right above the brush. That was always pretty gross and smelled horrible. Durability I've had two bissell steam cleaners. The little green, and the lift off. Both times my hoses came detached from the brushes within the first year. I would definitely get an extended warranty if you plan on keeping these things around.

I'm not sure how we would live without this little machine. It is handy, easy to store, and does it's job well. We keep it in the garage and it has saved our new carpet several times. My children are both potty training and have had a couple of accidents on the new carpet we just bought a few months ago. This Bissell cleaner got the stain right out of the carpet and the smell too! It is easy to use in small or hard to reach spots and is PERFECT for couches, stairs, and chairs. This works well with pet accidents too. This steam cleaner is durable (as we have been using it for year) and is easy to use. It's not super loud and the suction performance is great. I love this design with the long hose and you can really get almost anywhere that needs to be steam cleaned. The only complaint I have is that sometimes when I turn the machine off some of the cleaner continues to drip out. It's not a lot so not a huge deal. Overall I love this cleaner!

I moved into a apartment that had very stained carpets. I used a larger carpet shampooer that was a friend of mines and it didn't work. So I decided to go to walmart to find something else. I picked a smaller carpet shampooer because I have two little girls that are always making messes, so I figured it would also work good for that. Well this little green deep cleaner did not get rid of the stains on my carpet. I was very disappointed in that. I kept it anyway because I thought it would do better on a fresher stain. Over a period of several years, I used it for a lot of stains. It worked well on some of them, but it didn't get rid of others. I found it to be kind of a pain to use. The shampoo goes very fast and it's rather expensive. Also, cleaning this is a lot of work. It actually has dirt stuck in it that I can't get out. Therefore, I can't tell if I'm really cleaning anything because the water is always dirty regardless. It is very durable and easy to tote around. I just don't think it works good enough to be worth the hassle. I now have carpet that cleans very easy with just a wet rag, so I no longer use this deep cleaner at all.

Bissell Little Green Compact Deep Cleaner 1400-7 is awesome. This machine gets deep down dirt and is super easy to use. It is great for spills, which is the reason I first bought it, but what I really love it for is cleaning my furniture. It does a great job. I have grandkids that spill things on the furniture and dogs that sneak up on the furniture - and keeping it all clean would be impossible without the Bissell. Plus this machine has held up really well. People are borrowing it from me all the time to clean their furniture because they see how good of a job it does on mine. I do use Tide for frontloading machines in it instead of the Bissell brand cleaner because I like the smell of the Tide. But it works great in my Little Green Cleaner. This machine is a must have for me and if it ever wears out I will have to replace it immediately. I have grandkids, I have dogs, I have carpeting and this cleaner lets me keep up with them and keep my home looking wonderful.

I thought this was the solution to my carpet cleaning problems. I was wrong. I have a lot of health problems so it's hard for me to push around a heavy carpet cleaner and when I saw this machine I was instantly attracted because of it's size. I have children, who love to walk around the house with food and drinks and paint and anything else you can think of that kids could possibly spill. So I do a lot of spot cleaning around the house. Our whole house is carpeted and a pain to keep clean. For some reason this little machine guzzles the cleaning solution, much more so than the larger machines! Assembly is quick, didn't even have to look at the directions. But it always takes me several attempts on one stain to get it completely removed. And with all the bending down I think it would be simpler to just buy a light weight carpet cleaner. Maneuverability If you are able to bend down onto the floor, it's fairly simple to move around because it's so light. Ease of Maintenance Very easy to maintain, it's so small and compact there's not much to do. Suction Performance I have to go over stains several times to get it thoroughly cleaned. Versatility It's for spot cleaning only. Design It looks very simple to use and could be discreetly stored. Durability I wouldn't be too tough on this machine, it's very light which means it's probably not going to handle abuse well.
