My family and I are big rice eaters, and the Black & Decker Rice Cooker, makes doing so quite easy. All it takes is the correct measuring of water and rice, and the flip of a switch to make perfect rice for everyone. This really comes in handy and doesn't tie me up when I am in the middle of cooking others things for dinner. Once the rice is ready, it automatically flips to the warm setting and you're ready to eat. The only downfall is the fact that the steam hole on the lid tends to spurt out starchy hot water drops that can be messy. The container is nonstick, so it makes for the easiest clean up ever, or let the container cool and put it in the fridge if you have leftovers. It does make quite a lot of rice. My only recommendation is to not leave the rice on the warmer for too long, because although it doesn't stick, it can burn the rice. There is no setting for this. Since the coils do stay warm for quite some time, it is sometimes feasible to unplug the cooker, while leaving the pot/container in the cooker, because it does keep the rice warm for a while by doing this. Either way, this rice cooker is heaven sent and I cannot live without it. It makes perfect rice each and everytime, and is almost effortless!

We've had this rice cooker for four years and this cheap little appliance still works as well as the day we first used it. I've tried other rice-cooking methods, but nothing is as good as this one. It makes for an easy meal--throw some rice in the cooker, some veggie steamers in the microwave, and some fish/chicken in the oven, and half an hour later you have a healthy and delicious dinner that anyone can make. I only have two problems with this cooker. The first is that it's hard to season the rice while cooking. I've tried adding things (like cilantro or lime juice) to the water before I started cooking the rice, and it tasted good, but the rice on the bottom and/or sides always ended up overcooked or burned. My other problem with this cooker is in cleaning it. This is something you need to clean and rinse right away....if you don't, you're going to sorely regret it. (In other words, don't leave the kitchen cleaning to your lazy husband who will leave it out all night to stick to the pan!). None of the parts are really dishwasher-safe, so clean immediatey. I understand that most people would consider this easy to clean for a rice cooker. It probably is, but I'm thinking in more general dish-cleaning terms (my idea of something that's easy to clean is something that can be easily thrown in the dishwasher and reassembled with no small easy-to-lose parts). We only have rice with our meals every so often, so you can't beat this appliance for the price. If you eat rice more often, I'd say you'd be better off spending a little more and getting something with a little more quality.

One of the things that I have been trying to perfect for years is making perfect rice.  I finally found a pot that I can do it in, but only with that pot.  After all those years, my girls decided to buy me a rice cooker.  Now I don't have to worry about the rice boiling over, coming out sticky or under cooking.  The **Black & Decker Rice Cooker, Model #RC410 **cooks my rice for me!**Black & Decker Rice Cooker, Model #RC410**The **Black & Decker Rice Cooker, Model #RC410 **cooks a maximum capacity of 16 cups of rice.  You can feed an army with that much rice!  It has a removable non-stick pot that sits inside the rice cooker.  The pot is coated with what appears to be some kink of teflon coating to prevent rice from sticking to the surface. It is easily removed for washing.It is really easy to use this rice cooker.  Just measure out your rice and water and put inside the pot, cover with lid and turn the control knob down to the "Cook" setting.  Once your rice is cooked, you can use the "Warm" setting to keep rice warm until the rest of your food is ready for serving.  The **Black & Decker Rice Cooker, Model #RC410 **comes with a removable outlet plug, measuring cup and a serving spoon.  **My Thoughts on the Black & Decker Rice Cooker**I love this little gadget!  It frees up a burner on the stove and makes perfect rice every time you cook it!  The other big plus is cleanup.  When you cook rice in a pot on the stove, you end up with gooey rice stuck to the bottom ot the pot sometimes and most of the time for some of us.  With the **Black & Decker Rice Cooker, Model #RC410 **you don't have to sweat the cleanup.  The pot is non stick and you can't even tell you cooked rice in it once it empties.  Just a quick wash with soap and water has this pot ready for use again.  I have never cooked the maximum capacity of 16 cups of rice in this rice cooker before and I am curious to know if it would hold that much.  To me, it really doesn't seem possible, but who knows?  I may try it one day when we have a big get together! I do have one complaint about the **Black & Decker Rice Cooker, Model #RC410**.  If you leave your cooked rice on the warm setting for longer than 40 minutes the bottom will start to scorch.  Since there is no temperature setting, just "cook" and "warm", you can't prevent this.  Be sure to time your rice close to your meal.  This pretty much puts a dent in cooking rice beforehand to get it out of the way thinking that it will stay nice and warm in the cooker.  I learned this the hard way.  Overall the **Black & Decker Rice Cooker, Model #RC410 **is a useful appliance for anyone that hates to cook rice or just can't get it right.  The **Black & Decker Rice Cooker, Model #RC410 **delivers a nice fluffy cooked rice and the cleanup is easier than the traditional way of cooking rice in a pot.
