This a very good toaster, with lots of extra features. Toasting Evenness My toast always comes out toasted evenly on both sides, with just the right amount of toasting. Safety It seems safe to me but I don't have any children, so I don't really have any safety issues. Ease of Cleaning The tray at the bottom just slides out to clean. I wipe the outside down with a damp cloth. Durability I have only had it for about 9 months but so far it is great. Design It has a turn knob to adjust the level of toasting, but it also has a little window with a digital countdown, so you know when the toast will pop-up. When it gets to 1 minute it counts down in seconds to 0. If you are like me and the toast has to be buttered immediately, this is the perfect toaster. It also has button on the top for toasting frozen bread and a 30 second warm up if needed.
