I've had this product for close to six years now and it's still working just as it did the day I got it, minus some wear on the rubber inner plug. This type of insulated model also comes in useful if you forget about your brew, because it will keep it hot, if not pretty warm, for 4-5 hours after making your coffee. My opinion is that you skip the glass and plastic French press models and pay more for this one. I've had glass models and most stand up well to time, but some have shattered. Plastic will wear down with time.

We had a glass French press before this one, and found that the grinds always wound up in the coffee. This Bodum 3-cup French press has a much tighter seal that keeps most grinds under the mesh filter. The double-walled stainless steel carafe keeps coffee hot for at least an hour. I love that it is strong and durable. We take it camping with us. Also, dishwasher safe.
