Quiet and Effective

5

This dishwasher has been nothing but spectacular for me. We use it daily for our family (five people, four eaters). The only problem we ran into was the latch in the door sticking, preventing the door from latching when it was closed. We simply took apart the inside of the door and unstuck the latch, which solved our problem. The problem has not resurfaced since then. It performs well and cleans effectively. Lightweight items, such as child's plastic cup we handwash because sometimes the cup would flip upside down and fill with water. It does not have a heating element on the bottom, so we need not worry about plastic items melting in the wash. There is a screened cup in the bottom that will catch large chunks of food that is easily removed and cleaned. The silverware container has two sides - one entirely open and one with squares to hold each piece of silverware. I would prefer that the squares were removable as sometimes it's hard to get large-handled silverware in. But overall, this dishwasher has performed well. It is quiet and efficient, cleaning the dishes without waking the entire house in the process.

stopped cleaning

1

After having this dishwasher for 3 years. It's stopped cleaning the dishes. I thoroughly rinse the dishes before hand and your not supposed to. And they still come out dirty. I picked Bosch for its reliability and consistency. I've tried different detergents and made sure the disposal basket is clean. Now I need to save for a new dishwasher

I like the layout, wish the dishwasher worked.

We had this Bosch dishwasher for less than a month. It stopped working that quickly. Also, when it did work, if you did not open the door right away after the cycle stopped, the dishes all smelled moldy. When the store replaced the dishwasher since it was under warranty, we opted to get another brand, and performance has been much better.  What I did like about this dishwasher, and why I chose it in the store: I liked the rack. We have a large family, and the rack in the Bosch diswashers gives the most space. You can get 22 plates in one row in a Bosch rack. In the other brands, you can often get only 12 plates in a row.  I also like that the dishwasher rack is nylon. We had a metal coated rack once, and all our dishes ended up stained with rust spots when the coating more off the rack. I also liked the utensil caddy. I feel like the utensil caddy's placement and layout allowed the utensils to get cleaner than the caddies of some of the other brands.

Had a Kitchen Aid which I loved, but met end-of-life and was making a grinding noise. Researched many brands....this has the stainless steel inside and tall tub, 2 of my requirements. While it says it can stack service for 12, the plates are very tightly packed, however everything is always clean. Has delayed cycles and power/sterilizer cycle. It is VERY quiet and I just love it! Very affordable and I definately recommend it. I have had this for 4 months now and still would buy it again.

Great dishwasher-lets you leave the dirt on, but tricky to load.

We bought this dishwasher in August 2008 and have owned it for a year and a half.  It is hands down the best dishwasher I've used or owned.  I love that I can put most dishes in while they are still very dirty and they will come out sparkling.  If an item has heavily baked on crud, it occasionally won't come fully clean.   A great plus is that it runs very quietly!  I routinely run it during dinner and most guests don't notice that it is on 4 feet away from them.   The only con is that there is no air-dry option.  The dishwasher will always go through the heat cycle.  Because of this, the cycle takes a long time from start to finish (about 1 1/2 hours).  But after the last rinse cycle (somewhere around 45 minutes?) you can just reset the program, open the dishwasher up, and pull the racks out.  The residual heat and steam dries the dishes in about 3-5 minutes (but I don't have a lot of plastic ware).

Bosch dishwasher is the best dishwasher I have ever owned.

We wanted a new dishwasher in our old kitchen.  After a lot of research, we decided upon Bosch, which was far less money than our previous stainles steel Whirlpool that had a manufacturer defect.  Once I realized how essential a rinse agent was, this is the best performing dishwasher we have ever owned.  Since it dries through the European condensation method rather than the Amercian heating coil, we are able to put plastic items on either shelf.  No risk of melting!   My dishes are the cleanest they have ever been, no water spots, and even a sanitization function which was so helpful when my son was an infant.  I like having a white dishwasher because I tired of endlessly cleaning fingerprints from our former stainless steel one.  We have had it over a year and I would never have another dishwasher!
