We received the Bright Starts Baby's PlayPlace Play Mat as a baby shower gift and have used it since our daughter was just a few days old.  When she was a newborn we used it mainly as a safe place to lay her down while we enjoyed a meal or folding laundry.  The play mat has velcro sides that fold up so your newborn is safe, almost like a pack-n-play.  When our daughter was two to three month old and started reaching for toys she loved all the different toys that dangled. We did have to purchase additional links to get some toys to hang low enough for her to reach them.  Around four and five months when she started rolling around she loved the play mat even more!  It was very enjoyable to watch her play with the different toys.  My favorite part is the bumble bee that plays music for twenty minutes!  The bumble bee even has different settings so that when she would swat at the bee it would start playing music.  Now that our daughter is nine months old and pulling herself up she enjoys crawling through the mat and under the bars.  She also enjoys trying to crawl over the sides of the playmat.  One additional thing we love about the mat is that it is easy to fold-up and take with us on extended trips.

This is basically the only toy (other than the baby swing) that your baby will really love in those early months!  They really enjoy the music and lights that you can attach on the pole above them, the rattler, and the fact that there is crinkly fabric.  It's great for tummy-time as well as for the younger babes.  My baby has often fallen asleep while playing in it.  It really does provide some great entertainment for those young children.  The many colors and even black/white patterns on it are great for babies from a really young age.  I like that the sides come up so baby is protected a little from, for example, rolling balls from the siblings.  I love how portable it is as well, easy to take on vacation!  Plus everything is washable. My kids personally have not been interested in what the mat has to offer once they start crawling, however, so we have never really used the mat after that happened. Pricey but worth it.

When we were first pregnant we didn't really know what to register for. I saw so many of these playmats and thought that they were a waste of money because I honestly couldn't see myself setting it up and seeing my baby play in it! Well, someone decided not get us one anyways and when the time came for our baby to do his tummy time, we thought we might as well use this mat. It was great! The toys were helpful in stimulating his interest. They weren't too fancy but still enough to keep him interested for long. It is colourful as all baby's toys are but not a tacky kind of colourful which I love! Turns out my son loves this mat and everytime we put him in it he is always so happy! In the beginning it was just the colours, now he even tries to reach for the toys to play with them. I have seen many others out that also have the same function so I would recommend any kind of play mat not just this kind.

The **Bright Starts Baby's PlayPlace Play Mat **was passed down to us by my sister.  We have had it for a few weeks and I am so in love with this mat.  I love, love that the sides fold up and velcro for newborns!  It makes this cute little bed with the gym bars overhanging so that they have something to look at.  My twins are 3 months old and they both fit, I just lay their heads at either end and move the tiy bars to either end.  I have to say, with two older ones I get a little nervous about laying the twins on the floor on just a mat- I am afraid on of the kids will trip over them or something.  So I just keep the sides up!  There is a variety of toys and you can take them off of the rings and move them around.  My kids like the mirror and musical bug the best.  You could also put your own toys on the rings if you wanted to keep your baby from being too bored with the same toys.  We have this and a portable swing in our livingroom and they keep the babies entertained all day long.

Our baby has loved this playmat since day 1! She is 5 months old and still playing with it! I love that it can be transitioned with whatever developmental stage they're at! We would recommend this playmat to anyone!

I knew I needed to register for a playmat and it was hard to pick one.  This one was highly reviewed and I'm so glad I got it!!! It is so versatile. You can arrange the sides and the arches in lots of different configurations as the baby grows. I loved being able to move the toys around and the ladybug that comes with it plays the sweetest music! I was really really happy with this mat.
