This is a great smoker for the home cook. It is easy to use, easy to clean, and easy storing. Performance This smoker performs great. I have no problem getting it to the temperature needed and having it stay there. Versatility I do like it for smoking but it is a lot of work for just charcoal grilling. Ease of Use Very easy to use Ease of Cleaning Cleans up great as long as you clean it as soon as it cools down enough to do so otherwise not so easy. Durability Durable and stands up to the weather great. Design Good design but I would like an easier way to stoke the fire instead of such a small door. That is the only real drawback.

I much prefer charcoal over gas or electric grills. The charcoal gives a certain flavor to that is lacking in gas or eIectric. I have had this Brinkmann for over 25 years. It's great for smoking as well as grilling. It functions very well as a grill. The domed lid with straight sides allows me to put a lot of meats inside right up to the edge. As a smoker, the two racks allow for plenty of space to put meat inside. The lid keeps the heat from the charcoal at an adequate temperature to smoke the meats for several hours. The addition of hickory chips will add a nice touch of flavor to the smoked meat. I have no complaints about the Brinkmann. It is sturdily built and is still in good shape after all these years of use and will continue serve me well in the years to come.
