The brother cp-6500 computerized sewing machine is lightweight but has all the features of a heavy duty sewing machine. It is extremely advanced in its design, but I think is great for first time users and veterans. I can say that from experience because before this machine, I don't even think I could hand sew let alone use a sewing machine. When I tried my moms, which I assume was old, I thought there was no way I would ever figure this out. Then I found this machine and it was amazing. It has an LCD screen with stitch selection, one touch start, stop, and reverse plus like ten other great features. It is perfect for all of your crafting, quilting, home decorating, and sewing needs. My favorite part, automatic needle threading that I absolutely used to hate doing because it would take me more time to thread a needle then to sew! Highly recommend to anyone new or loves to sew!

I bought this machine for my niece for Christmas. She's never sewn before. I was impressed with how easy the directions were. She was able to thread it on her own and start sewing baby blankets a few hours after opening it! I'm really impressed with this machine. Stitch Performance Sews nice, even stitches. No loose threads on the bobbin side! Able to switch different stitches with no problems at all and they stitches stayed uniform! Ease of Use Super easy!!! Was able to take it from the box, plug it in, read the instructions and start sewing. This machine was bought for someone who's never sewed before and she was sewing simple projects at the end of the day! Really impressed with this machine! Fabric Handling So far only fleece and cottons have been sewn with this machine. There was no fabric buckling it seemed to handle both fabric effortless! Versatility In our defense we've only made a few things using this machine. Fleece throws for gifts. From using the machine, I'm more than sure that it can be used effortlessly with other fabrics. This was bought for a novice sewer and did not disappoint me!! Design I love the design of this machine! That's what first attracted me to it. Every thing is super easy to read and understand! Nothing on this machine is complicated! Easy to see and understand everything with this machine!! Durability I'm only giving this a 6 because we've not had this machine very long. It's also the first Brother machine that I have ever bought. From how it functions now, I'm sure my niece will have it for a long time!! That's speaking from past performance on other machines. I've been sewing for almost 50 years and I think my niece will have this machine for a long time to come!!

So, I got this as a gift. All the fancy stitches are cute but I frankly didn't use them. If I am going to get a machine that can do fancy then I want a programmable embroidery machine. The machine only lasted me a few years but that was partially my fault for putting sticky backed Velcro through it. DON'T EVER DO THAT!!! Stitch Performance This machine can be "jumpy". The tension is very fussy and you have to really get it just right. And if you are running low on the bottom thread (bobbin), it will throw a fit. Be prepared to wind a lot of bobbins. It also doesn't like the bobbins to be too full. Ease of Use Once you knew the idiosyncrasies of the machine, it was fairly easy to use. Fabric Handling I did use a lot of very heavy material with this machine. I use monks cloth for making costumes and it is very thick and heavy. That is probably what wore this machine out. Versatility The machine is fussy and doesn't like certain threads, etc. It takes a bit to figure it out. Durability This is not a forever machine. I'm on my second one and it is lasting longer but I can tell it isn't happy. This is a good beginner machine but save those pennies in the meantime and get a good machine.

I purchased this sewing machine after taking a few classes in sewing. I'm no expert, but this sewing machine makes me feel that way. It is truly so easy to use. The first garment I made with this machine, was a dress for my daughter, and it turned out great. I think whether you are a beginner at sewing, or want to try it out, this is just the machine to do just that. The string sometimes can get tangled in the needles, but that could have nothing to do with the quality of the machine. It could be just me! Since the Brother sewing machine is computerized, it makes it a lot easier and faster to get your work done. I've found myself spending a few hours on this machine, but completing many projects. It's every sewer's dream to own this machine! Stitch Performance Every stitch that I've made with this machine, has come ou perfect and really doesn't loosen at all. i've dealt with machines that make a good stitch, but loosen quickly, but this machine is much better at providing a tight stitching.

I can honestly say that I have not found one thing wrong with this product! It is such is simple little sewing machine, but it works wonders! Besides that fact that this product works wonderfully, it it modern with a vintage, timeless feel to it. It has a touch of pink to it, which makes it feminine and classic. I would recommend this sewing machine to anyone who is trying to brush up on their sewing skills, or to anyone who is simply eager to learn how to sew! Stitch Performance This product stitches fabrics together beautifully! I have never had an issue with this machine. Whenever I have used it in the past, everything has managed to come out looking successful and desirable. Ease of Use This sewing machine is very easy to use. I, myself, was a beginner with learning how to sew when I purchased this product. Now, it is not difficult for me to make things!
