Easy to set up and use. Love the different stitch settings. I thought sewing would be much harder. It is very steady while operating. I would recommend it for any beginning seamstress. It does not have enough embroidery options and other advanced functions for experienced seamstresses.

I am a new self taught sewer and this is my first machine. I really like all of the options it has as far as decorative stiches and the simplicity. It's been a great machine to learn on. Sometimes the bobbin will get tangled up inside - I'm sure it is probably more user error than machine! I would recommend this to new sewers for sure - since I'm not an experienced sewer I am not sure if someone with experience would have everything they need.

This is the third sewing machine I've had in my life, but my first computerized model.  I'm very happy with this purchase.  The machine is versatile, with many stitches and variations to choose from, and is easy to use.  I love that it doesn't require periodic oiling like my old machine did and is fairly maintenance-free.  It does a good job on both light and heavy fabrics.  I use it for denim frequently, which was sometimes a problem with my previous sewing machine.  For me a free-arm is a "must have" in a sewing machine, and this model has hidden storage in the section that slides off to make it free-arm, which I like.  The main drawback to me of this machine is that it sits up rather high, which is probably fine for people who are taller than I am, but poses a bit of a problem for me.  I eventually solved that problem by simply moving it to a lower work surface.  I have had to have this machine serviced, but the error code made it easy to figure out the problem and it was a fairly cheap fix.  I sew a lot, and considering how much I use the machine I consider it fairly sturdy and reliable.

I bought my Brother ES2000 77 Stitch Function Computerized Free Arm Sewing Machine from amazon in April 2009. I had only the most basic knowledge of sewing, and had nothing but bad luck with older machines passed down from family members. The older machines seemed to always have thread tension issues. I was worried that the problem was me and not the machines, and that I was spending even more money to have a machine I couldn't possibly sew on. I had no need to worry though, I was sewing within minutes of taking the Brother ES2000 out of the box though, and sewing well! I loved the computerized stitch functions. My old machine had a ton of plastic disks that always seemed to get lost when you needed them that you used to control the stitches. The Brother ES2000 was so much easier to change, just push the button until the lcd screen has the code that corresponds with the stitch you want from the handy chart right on the front. You don't even have to pull out the manual. Another feature I loved was the self threading needle. My mom wants to steal it to replace her more expensive machine for that reason alone. So much easier than trying to see to thread the thread through that tiny hole!

i bought this machine for a christmas present for me, and at first i didn't know if i would like it, well my mine was change about that , i love this machine its easy to learn, and its so light weigh, than my other ones i've ever own. I can carry it with easy,whereever i go to my daughters house, or anywhere. this machine is awesome.

Amazing machine! I recieved for my birthday a few months ago, and after reading through the booklet am in love! It is very easy to learn how to use and use. I haven't used once since middle school, but  I quickly became accustome to it. I love how easy it is to switch between stitches, and how you can adjust the different height and width of the stitch. I have yet to try the button hole feature (a little intimidating to a newbie), but I'm sure that it also is super easy to use. Winding the thread on the bobbin is a piece of cake and actually fun because you can go all out on the pedal. It also has an extremely convent thread cutter built into the side of the machine, so you don't even need to have scissors close by while sewing. I does leave the thread a little on the longer side, so you may want to trim it before wearing, or using whatever you are making. It also has a handy reverse button so you don't have to manually wind the wheel backwards.

with my brother ES2000 sewing machine makes life easier. when holidays roll around i'm glad i have my brother ES2000 . making costumes  for plays, halloween, school funtions , or just an outft.  teaching my daughter how to sew and spending time with her makes it even better.
