The whole word has Covid. i had covid. even the airlines changed my tix. that BAD business. I will spread the word how budget does not care and has NO cares of sick people. I never asked for a refund, maybe a credit for down the road. I wil let the social media know about my experience. that not right. there is always exceptions. Its not the money its the point how a company like Budget treats the customer. At least you could have done was let me use it at another time or send me coupons or upgrades. not nice.

Such poor customer service

Rental for a 12 passenger van rental for my daughter's wedding to shuttle guests from the hotel to the venue and back. It was confirmed via email. Day before the wedding received a call that they had no such vehicle at hand! No appologies no offers for the inconvenience, nothing! Will not be renting again from them, neither will my friends!

We were at the Budget Rental at Fort Lauderdale airport last night and that was the worse customer service I've ever seen. Long line with at least 50 people in line and three counters open. On top of that the manager would periodically come out of her office but she didn't help any customers. We were in line for 1 and 30 minutes. After we finally got our vehicle and we were leaving the area, the person that was checking the paperwork at the gate for budget had the worse attitude and as we were driving up he just sat there in his chair and looked at us like we were disturbing him. There definitely needs to be some customer service training at this location,starting with the manager. Very poor and unprofessional service. Where is the accountability?

I would give negative fives stars if I could. I rented from their Phoenix airport location. The car had existing damage, which was noted on the checkout papers and discussed with the persons checking the car in and out. About 4 weeks later I got a bill from Viking Billing Service demanding that I pay $466 for damage to the vehicle. I called Budget and they refused to even discuss it with me telling me it was not their problem and would not even look at the check out papers showing the damage and hung up on me. I spent several hours dealing with Viking, finally getting them to cancel the billing. I contacted Budget and asked them to compensate me for the time I spent dealing with the unjust claim and they said they would do nothing. I will never rent from Budget again, even if I have to pay much more at another company. They are a dishonest company and have extremely poor customer service.

Very long wait, rude staff

I rented a car from them at their Maui airport ( OGG) location and it's the longest I've ever had to wait to get a rental car- 2 hours. And it wasn't just me, but everyone else too. Talking to other customers and reading other reviews, this is a very frequent occurrence at this location at least. The staff was shockingly rude, obnoxious, condescending, unprofessional and downright inappropriate. She called me names and told me to "shut up". Literally. When I said I would complain to her manager, she said " boohoo! Go ahead". I did actually go ahead and insisted that the manager ask her to apologize to me. But this is simply unacceptable behavior. My advice: pay a bit extra and DO NOT RENT FROM THEM, take your business elsewhere. Also, I have not received my final bill yet. Reading the other reviews ( which I wish I had read before using this company) it seems like this company has a habit of overcharging and charging for services added without customer service. In my opinion, they should be reported to BBB and other regulatory bodies. I will certainly do so, if I'm scammed on my bill.

Love to be scammed, book Budget

This rental car company (same company as Avis), is purposely trying to scam you by charging for fuel while the tank in returned complety full. Maybe a legitimate error was my first reaction but when calling the service number, you know you are scammed. When confronting the company with the additional charge they come up with a lot of reason not te return the paid amount. We are able to proove that we drove less than 100 kilometres and showed the transaction of the bank. Never again!

Lying Service Agents!

I came in to pick up my rental and was told by the agent that their insurance was required and that my personal insurance could not be used. It being my first time renting a car and feeling overwhelmed with the paperwork, I took their word for it, although I declined other options they tried to add to my reservation including pushing me to upgrade to a larger vehicle. My cost ended up being double what I originally thought when booking through Hotwire. The agent was not very helpful with questions I had regarding the extra fees. Could not give me a straight answer to what they were for. Within the hour I spoke to a friend who told me I was lied to regarding insurance, which I also confirmed through my personal insurance company. When I respectfully and calmly drove back to the rental location, the agent was rude and said he would have to return the vehicle and re-rent it. This would have charged me double what I had already paid. The customer service line wasn't much help either. After they tried to blame HotWire first, which has nothing to do with the insurance option, they said they'd give me a full refund of the insurance but did not follow through, only giving me 25% back of what was paid for insurance. Totaling $23 of the $300 paid. When I asked, again calmly, if they felt this was fair treatment, the phone agent just stayed quiet before continuing on. It seems lies are what this company is about more than respecting customers. This was my first and last time renting with Budget.

Bad Business Fee

Our flight was cancelled and the only other flight we could get on was in Miami instead of Fort Lauderdale. Called to change drop off location and they wanted $400 to drop car 45 mins away. Went back to Fort Lauderdale, returned car, walked inside rented another car for 1 day @ $95. Why couldn't they have done that for the car I had. STUPID!

Bad maintenance

I rented a car in Bozeman, Montana. There were 2 warning lights on the dash and an annoying alarm. I would have returned it immediately however I rented it at closing time. I wasn't able to return it for another car the next day because I didn't have the time to drive it 80 miles. Drove it very sparingly and made other arrangements. After returning the car I asked for a refund. Budget said their records showed the car had nothing wrong with it. Don't trust Budget, I should have read about their 1.7 rating before I rented.
