The way **Bump Fighter Razors** work is through the guard that keeps the blade slightly off the skin.  Razor bumps typically form as new hair follicles grow into the skin.  African-American men are prone to razor bumps, because our facial hair is generally thicker and curlier, increasing the irritation of ingrown hairs. With **Bump Fighter Razors**, I sacrifice the closeness of the shave, which for me is the point in using a razor instead of my *[Conair Trimmer][1] *.  Although **Bump Fighter's **razor doesn't give me as close a shave as the *[Mach 3 Turbo][2] *, I'm less likely to develop razor bumps. While shaving, I used ***Bump Fighter** S*having Gel with cocoa butter to soften the hairs on my chinny-chin-chin.  After shaving, I used [**Bump Fighter** After Shave Conditioner][3] . I like that it's not a liquid after shave and is only lightly scented.  It goes on like a lotion that moisturizes and soothes irritation.  It also helps soften the hair as it grows, reducing the tendency for ingrown hairs. While I'd rather have a little stubble after a shave than razor bumps, it would be nice to have the best of both worlds.  Perhaps in time I'll figure out what method works best for my face type.  But for now, the **Bump Fighter** brand is my razor of preference. One major issue I have with the **Bump Fighter **razors is availability. It may just be my location, because often African-American skin and hair products are harder to find where I live.  So far, *Wal-Mart *is the only store nearby that carries the razor.  Other stores have the Shaving Gel and After Shave Conditioner.
