I used this product for about a year without realizing it was the source of my hair's oiliness. Its deceivingly natural ingredients made me believe it would not take a toll on my hair like other products I had used from Herbal Essences, etc. This shampoo was the worst thing I ever used on my thick, medium length hair. I would not recommend this to anyone. Effectiveness This shampoo may have cleaned my hair, but after my hair was dry, it would leave a film of grease near my scalp that was almost impossible to wash out. My hair looked dirtier than before I had washed it. As a shampoo, I was hoping for a restorative aspect that would come along with the promised shine, but that was not part of this shampoo at all. Scent The shampoo does smell decent. It smells clean and fruity without being overpowering. It does not smell like anything special, however. There is no originality involved in the scent of the shampoo.

I really like what Burt's Bees products stand for. The idea of using natural product Shampoo that is good for the body, as well as, the environment is a great idea, but this shampoo did not work for my hair. It smelled wonderfully fresh and I liked using it as a body wash for that reason. As a woman with color treated, thin, fine hair, an oily scalp, and dry ends, this shampoo did not work for me. When I used this shampoo my hair did have a clean feeling, while at the same time it felt dry. This shampoo is easy to use, but I always felt like I needed more shampoo when I used this product to get a lather than I would have with another shampoo product. If you want a shampoo that smells great, is made from natural products, and is better for the environment this is the shampoo for you. I would recommend it for non- colored and short hair. I did not continue to use Burt's Bees Shampoo, because I found it to be too expensive for the basic clean it provided.

First off this stuff is supposed to be organic, so when you make the switch from a normal shampoo to this you're going to notice some differences. It would suds up like the others, and before you use a conditioner it's going to feel dry. But it's so much better for your hair! Burt's Bees shampoos don't strip your hair of all their natural oils which can be damaging to your hair. Instead they clean off without doing any heavy duty stripping. Once you get passed that, and you learn what "real" clean hair without the sulfates and silicon feels like you'll learn to love and appreciate the clean you get from this! Since it does not suds up really well it is easy to use to much so be careful, cause this stuff is expensive. But it's worth the price! And the smell is heavenly. Effectiveness It does what shampoo needs to/should do but in a natural way! Scent Love the smell of this product. It's extremely pleasant and lingers after it's been washed out!

Burt's Bees Super Shiny Grapefruit & Sugar Beet Shampoo is a good shampoo made from natural ingredients. I do like this shampoo but it is expensive and I definitely have to use a conditioner when I use it. It doesn't dry my hair out which is good but it doesn't leave it as soft as I would like either. It's the same way with the shine. If I don't use a conditioner with it, my hair is not as shiny as I like. Plus this shampoo leaves my hair very tangled and hard to comb through. This shampoo smells absolutely wonderful though. And the fragrance doesn't wash away with rinsing either; my hair smells fantastic all day long. I also have a hard time finding this shampoo in grocery stores. I usually have to go to a drug store to get it which isn't always the most convenient. All in all, I do like using this shampoo occasionally because it is all natural and I believe that it is good for my hair.

The Burt's Bees brand has never disappointed me in overall quality, and I can say the same for Burt's Bees Super Shiny Shampoo. It does not fail as a shampoo in any way, but I wouldn't say it stands out as a shampoo more than others. I am glad I bought it and will buy it again from time to time, primarily because it cleans well and I enjoy the scent. (I wish I could buy this product in a larger size, because it may be more economical and of course it would last longer.) If you are curious enough to buy it, I say buy it-I don't know how it would disappoint. Effectiveness My hair was definitely squeaky clean in one shampoo-so much that I tell others with fine hair like mine to exercise caution-because squeaky clean fine hair is tangled-up fine hair. It lathers well and feels gentle, somewhat like baby shampoo does. I was reticent to buy it when I have color-treated hair, but it is obvious it has done no harm. Scent The unique scent of Burt's Bees Super Shiny Shampoo is what initially got me to purchase it. It is refreshing and the sugar beet portion of it makes it smell a little more distinctive than other shampoos that just smell like grapefruit. Most of this brand's products are sealed in the store, so if you want to smell it before you buy it you have to find someone who already has some.

I bought this shampoo several years ago when I trying to switch over to more all-natural health and beauty products. I had fallen in love with Burt's Bees lip balm and buttermilk lotion, so I decided to give this Shiny Grapefruit and Sugar Beet Shampoo a whirl. I found the scent to be invigorating and the texture of the shampoo to be nice and thick. I also appreciated the fact that the color was translucent and there was no artificial coloring in the ingredient panel. However I was disappointed that this shampoo did not lather well at all. To make matters worse, it left my hair stiff and dry feeling, as if it had stripped my hair of all its natural oils. I tried it a few more times and then decided this product was not for me! Effectiveness I did not find this product to be an effective shampoo for cleaning hair. It may have worked better as a hand-soap. Scent The scent of this grapefruit and sugar beet shampoo is unusual, but fresh. I really enjoy it. It is reminiscent of organic gardening in the summer.

This yummy Burt's Bees shampoo is amazing. In the hair industry there is so much out there that not good for your hair. Not with this Burt's Bees shampoo! I never worry bout what unnatural things are going in my hair. This shampoo is totally good for your scalp. It's hair healing too! Love the grapefruit smell {one of my favorites}. And it leaves my hair nice & clean. Just as clean as any other regular shampoo! But healthier! My only complaint is that sometimes if you don't get it totally out, it feels a little dry. But that's not unusual for any shampoo. Just make sure to get it all out and you'll be golden. No itching issues like I usually have either. I've been a user for about 4-5 years now and still have no complaints whatsoever. No allergic reactions or anything. Price is a little more, but it's to be expected when it's as healthy as his shampoo is. Worth the price in my mind for sure! You won't regret trying it!

A few years ago, I decided to start taking better care of myself, my skin, and my hair. After some research, I realized that I really needed to cut Sodium Lauryl Sulfate out of my shampoo and conditioners. I've always loved the idea behind Burt's Bees products so this bottle was the first shampoo that I tried out. The smell wasn't horrible and the shampoo itself wasn't too bad. It lathered well enough and got my scalp clean. However, my hair was already dry and damaged from years of using hair dye so the shampoo didn't really work well for me while the color and damage were growing out. It built up on the hair after a while and the resulting wash that I had to do with a clarifying shampoo wasn't very kind. I can't blame that on the product, though. I should have paid more attention. My significant other greedily took what was left of the shampoo and happily uses it on his hair daily. His hair is soft and always smells great thanks to this shampoo. It works great for him and I plan on trying it again now that the damage is grown out of my own hair.

I like to try out shampoos frequently and change my hair care routine every few weeks so my hair doesn't get too used to any one product. I've tried several other Burt's Bees shampoos, but their Super Shiny Grapefruit and and Sugar Beet shampoo is my favorite from the Burt's Bees line. It smells heavenly! In general, Burt's Bees shampoos don't tend to lather all that well. I prefer shampoos that have more suds to them, and I do find myself using much more shampoo with Burt's Bees than I do with other brands because of the lack of lather, so that can get expensive quickly since their shampoos are already on the pricy end. But I do adore the scent and I really think it does a great job getting my hair squeaky clean. I think because my hair is so squeaky clean after using this shampoo, it's a little difficult to style when wet, but once it dries, my hair feels nice and soft and shiny. I don't know that I'd say my hair is any shinier with this product than it is with any other shampoo, but it certainly smells great, and makes my hair look and feel healthy.

I went from using chemical shampoo - to the "no-poo" method (which works if you remember to use heat treatment) to using this shampoo and I have seen a huge difference in my hair. I straighten my hair every day, and it is naturally, curly, wavy, crazy (as I would call it...) Though I blow dry it, straighten it, and do that every day, my hair is really shiny and looks younger, more healthy than it did five years ago. This shampoo is sulfate free, and is also free of other harmful chemicals that you still can find in "chemical-free" shampoos. My hair is not weighed down, it is light, flexible, and most importantly, more shiny that it has been in years. I would recommend this to anyone who seems to not be finding any solution to their crazy hair. Trust me, there are others out there like us! Try this and you will see results in the first week you use it. My hair even grows faster as a result. You also do not need to use gobs of it in your hair, so it lasts you a while.
