Does its job

It does its job. It's perfect for the family. Definitely better than those round grills. It's very durable and we had it for a long time and it's still in great condition.

I like Char-Broil grills

4

I can't tell you how long we've had our Char-Broil Quickset grill - it's been years. Perhaps close to 9-10? We moved with 7 years ago, and it took a fall in the truck. The lid cracked, one handle broke off, and one side "shelf" broke off. Still, it keeps on cooking. The burners have cracked - they no longer have little holes, but lines. Therefore, the fire doesn't evenly pour out. Why the 4-star review? I don't know many appliances that can take a beating like that and still work well. It cooks like a dream - my husband can make a MEAN steak on that grill. The birds love it too, as I constantly have to clean out their nests before I can grill (ha,ha.) Seriously, It has stainless steel burners, so under normal conditions they last a long time. The tool holders and shelves are convenient. It's also inexpensive. For our first grill, I'm very pleased. However, I think I will start saving for a new Char-Broil.

Good starter grill for light cooking

3

I have had 2 of these grills. They are reasonably priced and a good option for a beginner grill master with a small family. Because of their size, they are fairly easy to haul from place to place, making them a great option for travel to parks and cook outs, They will last about 4 years if kept clean, but eventually the top rack of the griill and the starter will wear out. Get a grill cover and store inside garage or shed or they will rust quickly. The size limits the amount of meat that can be grilled, about 4 chicken breasts, or 8 four to eight ounce burgers. If you try to cook more, the amount of grease in cooking area will start fires, even with the flame guard. The real downsize is the amount of heat produced, making cooking steaks challenging especially in windy states like Kansas. Finally, remember where you live, this grill may not produce enough heat to successfully cook in cooler climates or during the fall and winter seasons if this is something you enjoy .

This Char-Broil Quick Set grill is very functional

I am single and this grill is just perfect. It heats up fast. Cleaning is a little difficult but doable. The upper grill could be improved as it rusted just a little bit. Otherwise the price and functionality and size are just right for me.

It's snowing but I want to grill now!

We have owned four Char-Broil grills. This quickset is our newest. I can't say anything about the price because we won it in a raffle. What an awesome prize! Just like the name says, it was very easy to set up. Older models were much harder to put together but Char-Broil has simplified the set up process in the last few years. As far as cooking on it, it seems to heat more evenly than my last one. It doesn't seem to have as many hot spots. The self ignighter is still working on this one which is a shock to me because they usually break within the first month for me. I do wish that someone would make a grill that the burners lasted longer than a few years. It seems like they rust out quicker than before, but when talking to my friends, it is not just the Char Grill brand. The cooking surface itself is easy to clean and seems like it is coated with something new because we are having less trouble with food sticking to this one when cooking. If you are in the market for an inexpensive grill for your back yard or deck, definately consider this one.

this char-broil quickset grill is out of sight

When I went shopping looking around for possibly a new grill I first thought I would just get something cheap and simple, like a basic barbeque pit grill that was cheap that I could use every once in awhile for hamburgers and maybe steak or something but the more I looked at them the more I realized I might as well buy one that is optimal for being as great as I am as a person. My mindset was "if i was a grill which one would i be" so after scoping around for months looking for a the perfect grill I cam across the char-broiled quickset grill, it was everything I wanted and the right price and perfect in every possible way, for minimal use or everyday use, for any type of food or any type of setting this is the grill you want by your side. This grill has the power of grills 10 times its size and would be the master of all grills if they had a contest for that. I would recommend this for anyone that has some type of budget and is looking for something sustainable whether you cook on it everyday or every year.

Char-Broil Quick Set is dependable.

I bought this grill to replace a larger one that didn't work half the time. I didn't want to spend a lot of money in case this grill let me down also. I am happy to report that it has not let me down not once. It is a dependable inexpensive grill. Short on money, this is the grill for you. You want something dependable, this is the grill for you. I have also smoked food in this grill using a smoker kit. Talk about something that taste great, try smoking your meat. You will agree with me. The kit can be gotten at most stores that sell grills. For me, this grill has only one downside and that is cleaning. The way it is constucted, it makes it hard to clean drips from the bottom of it. You can't get under the flame box without removing the whole thing. But ever with that one draw back, I still recommend this grill to one and all. As I've said, this grill is inexpensive and has not let me down once.

Good grill for price

4

I orginally bought this grill for the price but it turned out to be a good grill for my family of 4. It cleans up easy and the upper and lower racks makes it easy to cook several items at once. It has two attached side tables that make you able to have a place to sit seasonings and additional plates. I would recommend this grill for small families. It is not really heavy and also has a rack to hold the propane tank.

Char-Broil makes great quality but affordable grills.

I have had two of these models both for over three years.  They grill is great easy to clean and not as bulky to store as some grills.  Its a perfect size for a medium or small family, There are 5 in out family and there is plenty of grill room for us all.  For party's we use two grills so everyone can eat at once.  I have left mine under a small awning on the side of the house and there is not any sign of damage to the grill at all, I like that I don't have to lug it back and forth from garage to the gazebo.

Cheap, but you get what you pay for.

The  **Char-Broil QuickSet 463531504 (LP) Propane Grill** won't impress you, but it will grill your food (if you aren't cooking for a large group).  It's cheap, so you get what you pay for, or maybe more aptly, "You don't get what you didn't pay for."  My husband and I bought this cheaper model after liking our former middle of the line Char-Broil that we'd had 7 years.  We should have known to return it after my husband spent 4 hours putting together and still wasn't convinced he had followed the directions.  Yet, we didn't stay away, we kept the cheap thing and are now embarassed to use it when company comes over because it's not much  bigger than a George Foreman, and definitely uglier.  All that to say, if you don't have a lot of money, or high expectations from a cheap grill, this one is probably all you need.  We are going on our second year with ours and will use it until it rots (probably in 2 more years) and then hopefully have the presence of mind to buy a better one.
