More ways to fly with this card

4

This card is great for anyone who likes flying American Airlines and enjoys shopping online. You get the standard 1 mile per dollar spent as other cards, but they have restaurants in your area that give you anywhere from 3-10 points per dollar spent at their restaurants so it can add up quickly. It is a good card to get as young as possible and you will have your flights built up for when you escape college and can enjoy life.

Takes too many miles to get any tickets

In the past we have used our miles from this account to go to Europe and domestically.  Because we charge everything and then pay it off each month, it has been a good way to get free flights.  Now, AA has increased their amount of miles needed and it is virtually impossible to accrue enough miles to go abroad.  Also, seats for free flights are inventory controlled and may not be able to get reservations for dates/time wanting to travel. We do not pay an annual fee for this account.  We were allowed a very large line of credit.  We have just about discontinued using this card as we have found other cards to offer better benefits. We refuse to have any card that has a fee.  The credit card companies make plenty off of the fees they charge the merchants ~ the more one uses their card, the more the CC makes.  We xld an Aadvantage card that had a fee when CitiBank offered this one without a fee. If you can get this "fee free" and pay it off monthly, I would recommend as a means to accumulate miles as long as one knows it takes more and more miles all the time to get a ticket.  If you have to pay a fee, then it isn't a wise means to go.

Citi Cards, do not sing up for any service features extra!!!!

You can get 25,000 miles to fly, the only warning is do not acept any of the features that the card offers. The fees are really high and when you try to cancell, the offer to you other program and tell you the fee it will be less. But is not, and when you try to cancell again you have to pay all that fees that you try to stop paying. There is nothing to do, they lie to you over the phone, and then send a letter that all the fees are legal. Even though you call to cancell, and the CSR lie to you, and they didn't care.

A great way to get air miles

5

i have used the citiAAdvantages card for several years and really enjoy the air miles we build up.  We use the card for routine purchases and pay it in full each money avoiding intrest charges and gaining air miles..  We have used our points for air line tickets to numerous states(Florida, Las Vegas, ect) and are able to get two tickets for the price of one.  Great if you travel alot.

I am able to get one domestic ticket a year on miles for free!

The card is great.  for a minimal yearly fee you can use the card and accumulate miles.  some purchases are several miles per dollar so you can accumulate fast.  we purchase everything on the credit card and at the end of the year we always have about one domestic ticket to travel for free.  that coupled with the miles we earn traveling on business and pleasure always lead to a free trip every year or every other year on american airlines.  the card has no black out dates or anything like that since the miles go directly to the airline.  you book directly with the airline.  the miles go to your advantage account so you never have a middle man to deal with when booking your flight.

The easiest way to flight for some bucks with Citibank MC AA

I have been a customer of Citibank for about 4 years with the same program of American Advantage Gold level. I cannot complain on Citibank credit cards; which I have take a lot of advantage. The application process it was very easy and secure and i got the answer with few days and very good reasonable credit limit which has been increased for paying on time and be a loyal customer. I am not a bussiness person but I like to travel just for pleasure or visit family friends in special occasions. Its a reality that the economy has been hard in the past two years to be traveling but with this program is a reality. Is great get airline miles for doing something I already do like paying bills, gas, grocery, outside dinner etc. I try to pay everything with the card to get the most for it. Once I meet the require miles is even more easy get a flight reward which just have a little fee as low as 25 dollars, who pays 25 dollars for roundtrip flight in those days? Also, they customer service is the best they are very attentive, very friendly and always helpful. The only thing which will make it the perfect credit card is their annual fee of 50; but really travel about 2-3 times a year for low fee who can complaing about it? One tip is pay right away your balances is the best smart way to keep a credit card in my opinion.

good for travelers, otherwise, high APR, and we are $20K in debt

here's how we got in trouble with this one, while both making over $80 a year/ at the time. we traveled a lot between San Fran and Chicago, and it made sense to get a card that earned us mileage. well, we stopped traveling eventually, and though we got 2 free stand-by flights out of all our miles, we quickly got into debt way over our head. spending limit kept going up, and when it stopped at $20K, so did we. its taken us over 4 yrs to pay it off, but we learned a good lesson!

Great opportunity for a ton of miles.

I was looking for some bonus miles and came across the AAdvantage Gold Mastercard.  At the time it was 25,000 bonus miles after your first $750 in purchases (must complete within first year).  I did it in my first month and sure enough for 25,000 miles.  It was great, because that's enough for a free flight right there.  The annual fee is waived for the first year of you having the card and $50 after that.  It is the cheapest annual fee of all of the AAdvantage cards (with exception to the Bronze card, with no annual fee).  You get one mile for every dollar which is good and soon enough, you'll get a free flight.  I like it and hopefully you will to.
