I already have straight hair but it get the occasional kink or frizz or curl to it here and there or little twists so I thought I would try this shampoo to help make it just a little better so I wouldn't have to run a flat iron over my hair or blow dry it completely straight. I already have hair straight enough to just wear it as straight but this shampoo didn't really do anything for my hair in the straightening area. It definitely wasn't dangerously straight. My hair was clean, soft, manageable, shiny, silky, smooth, and just overall felt and appeared healthier but I didn't see any straightening affects. I thought the lack of straightening might be because my hair is already straight so we tried it on my guys short curls and it didn't straighten or relax his hair either. It did make his curls softer and smoother and help with his dandruff and it even tamed the frizz on his curls but they certainly weren't straightened or relaxed. I'd say this is more to make your hair feel great and similar to what straight hair may feel like, but it definitely doesn't straighten. Good for a regular everyday shampoo that leaves you detangled, clean, and smooth with a good scent, not so good for straightening point blank, Effectiveness It didn't straighten my hair anymore than it already is. It also had no affect on my boyfriends three inch curls. It's great for a lather, scrub, dirt and grime removal, and smoothing out hair but not anything to consider for actually straightening and relaxing hair. Also, I have color treated hair so I want to throw in that it didn't hurt or fade my color any at all. Scent It has a really nice scent. It is very flowery and feminine so I wouldn't recommend it for guys to use but it is a great scent to me and it's one of the deciding factors that lead me to purchase the dangerously straight shampoo.

Like all Herbal Essence shampoos I've tried, I fell in love as soon as I lathered up. The scent is amazing, it leaves my hair feeling clean and luxurious, and it is amazingly soft. However, it failed to deliver on the straightening part. I have naturally wavy hair that borders on frizzy, and I was really hoping that this would help tame that without having to deal with additional products. I am low maintenance and hate spending a lot of time on my hair. When I found the Dangerously Straight formula, I thought my prayers were answered. Bottom line for me, while it's a great shampoo and it works for everything BUT the straightening part, it fails to deliver on it's promise. I still use it, as it's one of my favorite formulas for some reason, but I just use it now knowing that I'll still be wearing my hair in a pony tail or with a baseball cap. Close, Herbal Essence, but no cigar.

Herbal Essence does a great job as a company to make all of their hair care products to smell absolutely amazing. So surprise, surprise when this stuff smells like it has been elegantly crafted to smell like the essence of yum. For me the smell was the best thing about this product. It lathers well like you would expect a shampoo to do, because it has all those sulfates in it that make it all bubbly. It cleaned my hair, and it made it slightly softer than I expected. As far as the Dangerously Straight part, I'm not sure what they were thinking. My hair wasn't any straighter than it was before, it wasn't any less frizzy either. It did make it tad bit shiner but that's not what it was advertised to do. I was disappointed in it's ability to not make my hair sleek and straight without having to take a straightener to it, but that aside it's a good product for how much it costs. I would recommend this to people, but not to anyone that is looking for a holy grail product to magically turn their hair straight.

I have naturally curly/wavy hair. I like most woman don't like my hair type. I want straight hair. So I tend to straighten my hair a lot. So I have looked into different shampoos and conditioner that help to straighten my hair. I came across this shampoo, Clairol Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Shampoo. Now I knew going in that this would not give me completely straight hair, but I was hoping it would help to reduce the curls and waves in my hair. Unfortunately it did not do that. I didn't really notice any difference in the amount of curls and waves in my hair. My hair was not any straighter after using this shampoo. It did help reduce the amount of frizz that I had in my hair, but not by much. My hair did feel soft and smooth and silky after using the shampoo. I will say this at least, it has a very nice scent. If you are looking for a miracle shampoo that will magically give you straight hair, this is not it, although I do not think there is anything like that. If you have slightly wavy hair then this might work better for you, but if you have curly hair like me, then don't expect much for results.

Clairol Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Shampoo is a good shampoo, but I ultimately chose to use something else. I already have very straight hair, with a bit of a wave, so maybe this product just wasn't meant for me. I prefer to use strengthening shampoos and damage control shampoos. This shampoo does a great job of cleaning your hair and smells good doing it. I wouldn't recommend for deep cleaning, especially since i had a bit of build up by the time I reached the bottom of the bottle. The scent is pleasant but I would prefer something more fragrant. The lather is not particularly thick and doesn't make a ton of foam, which helps if rinse out easier but is not as luxurious a lather as I like. My hair is also very long so I need something that can deep clean without drying it out, and this just didn't fit the bill for regular use, it might work better for someone with shorter hair. Overall, it is a good product, just not for me. Effectiveness Clairol Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Shampoo works well but does leave some residue behind. Scent Clairol Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Shampoo smells pretty good but not as amazing as others i have tried.

I have a bottle of Clairol Herbal Essences Straight Shampoo in my shower that I uses periodically to wash my hair. I like the smell of Clairol Herbal Essences Shampoo. It seems to make my hair stronger after each use. But the effects of this shampoo on my hair also leaves it dry. I'm a Afro-American female whose hair needs a lot of oil/moisturizer to maintain. So whenever I use the Clairol Herbal Essences Shampoo, I use a good conditioner to add some moisture back to my hair. But when using the Clairol shampoo, I enjoy the smell that the shampoo leaves in my hair. It has a great fragrance that can be used alone by someone who doesn't need the added oil/moisturizer like me. Plus the bottles that the Clairol Herbal Essence Shampoo comes in now are cute. Effectiveness It cleans and leaves my hair feeling more fuller. But, I don't like how the shampoo dries my hair out. Scent Clairol Herbal Essences Shampoo has a marvelous smell. I tried smelling as many different scents as I possible could while shopping for this product. Really great scents.

I am not a huge fan of grocery store shampoos but started using Clairol Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight about 3 years ago. I noticed a difference in my hair about a week into using it. My hair actually appeared smooth and had a shine to it after I straightened it with a flat iron. After I wash my hair with the shampoo I use the matching conditioner. But I do not wash all the conditioner out. Then I blow dry my hair and there's a noticeable difference in the health of my hair, especially the ends. The smell of this shampoo is great, I always receive a compliment if I've washed my hair with this shampoo. For the price it really helps straight hair. I wouldn't have believed it myself if I hadn't used it over a period of time. This is my go to shampoo when I want to wear my hair straight because it actually works! Effectiveness Helps straight hair appear smooth and sleek. Helps unhealthy ends appear smooth and healthy. Scent Very girly smell, I like the great floral scent.

My hair has naturally long waves and it gets very frizzy when it dries. I have been on a hunt, trying to find the best shampoo for my hair. The dangerously straight shampoo was one of the cheapest shampoos at the store that claimed to fix the hair issue I had. I used this shampoo along with it's matching conditioner. The scent of the shampoo is absolutely amazing! It's very fruity and the scent stays in your hair all day. However, the shampoo did not help straighten my hair at all. When I got our the shower and blow dried my hair, it was still very frizzy and wavy. I knew it was too good to be true. This shampoo made no difference to my hair. The best thing about it was the way it smelled. It did not help increase moisture. Also, it stripped away the color from my hair. I prefer not to use this if you dyed your hair. It is very affordable but it doesn't quite do its job. This is probably made for people to retain their straight hair. If you have wavy or curly hair, it will not work for you.

I have straight hair to begin with but it gets a few waves once it dries or if I don't wash it for a few days, so I was hoping Clairol Herbal Essences would help relax the hair so the waves would not develop. Not that I expected a shampoo to make my hair "dangerously straight" but I expected it to lend some softness and frizz control. After I wash and air dry my hair it also has a tendency to frizz some, so with the straightening power this one has I had hoped it would help with my problem. Clairol Herbal Essences has good products, but this one just didn't make the cut. While it is a good shampoo and made my hair smooth, smell good and soft, I don't think it made my hair relax the way I hoped it would. Scent All of Herbal Essences products smell amazing and Clairol Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Shampoo is no different. I enjoyed the smell very much and it made my hair smell good.

This shampoo smells good but that is about it, I feel like it doesn't clean my hair well at all. It leaves build up and residue which is gross! I usually buy Big Sexy Hair or Paul Mitchell but trying to cut costs thought I would try out Herbal Essences. To me it's worth it to splurge on good hair products but have had some good luck with cheaper brands such as Garnier Fructis. Not this product! Maybe I grabbed a dud? I really wouldn't recommend this product for people who have thin and fine hair such as myself. It makes my scalp feel oily and not clean. Like I said previously I have residue that doesn't wash out with this shampoo. After I blow dry my hair I feel like my hair doesn't look as clean or smooth as it does with other shampoos I use. I definitely will avoid buying this again just because I have been so dissatisfied with the results! Trust me splurge on something else from your stylist or try Garnier Fructis if on a budget.
