I use Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2 every time I was my face. It is an effective toner that I recommend using with the entire Clinique product line. I use the lotion after washing my face and before applying my first moisturizer. I believe this clarifying lotion helps the moisturizer absorb into the skin better after removing any residue left after washing your face. The bottle lasts for a long time making it a great value.

Even though this product is part of Clinique's 3-step skincare process, I only use the toner in my skincare regiment (my face wash and lotions are from different brands). Still, I consider this product to be an essential in my daily skin ritual. After cleansing my face with face wash, I dry off my skin and then apply this toner using a cotton ball. You only need a little bit, and when I rub this product on, it just feels super refreshing, and the formula feels "cold", but in a super satisfactory way. After that, I wait a bit to let the product soak in, and then I put on moisturizer. I added this product to my skin care regiment a few months ago, and I can confidently say that it's drastically changed the appearance of my skin. My skin feels super smooth, and overall it looks healthy and glowing. In addition, my skin has also been less dry, and I've also broken out less. The product also doesn't have that weird chemical scent that some toners have, which is a plus. All in all, it's an amazing and effective product, and the bottle is really big so it'll last a long time. A good bang for your buck!

I have tried different brands of toners, but I am more drawn to this one. I trust Clinique as a brand because all of their products are hypo-allergenic and great for sensitive skin, unlike some other brands. This toner isn't overly harsh, though it will dry out your face (thus the toning effect) so it is important to replace your skin's hydration with lotion or oil. It does a great job of evening out discoloration due to acne scars and works best when used with the entire three step system. Reactions that I HAVE NOT experienced with this toner, unlike other toners, are skin peeling, flakiness, or irritation (such as redness or soreness.) The only time that I feel a "sting" when using this product is if there is already an existing irritation on my skin, such as an open sore or a scratch. Otherwise, I would consider this to be a very gentle toner. IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW what kind of skin that you have, however. If you have very dry skin you would have to use the toner marked "1" and if you have oily skin you would use the toner marked "3." Using the wrong toner would result in having a result you would not want. Obviously if you use "1" and you have oily skin, the toner will do nothing to resolve the oiliness, and if you use "3" and you have dry skin, it will just leave your face dryer and possibly result in flakiness and irritation. Scent Just a bit of an off-scent. To be expected with a hypo-allergenic product that does not add perfume into its products.

I have been using the 3 step program for years. I have all my girls on the program. The toner is AMAZING! it is apart of the 3-step program and a LITTLE goes a LONG way. All the products that CLINIQUE sells has pretty much the same theory...a little goes a long way! The Toner is an excellent part to keeping and maintaining my skin in a very healthy state. I am ALWAYS getting compliments. I am a mom of ELEVEN kids! I am told all the time I look to be in my late 20's! The toner is very easy to use and will even sometimes give me a little rejuvenated feeling on days I am home and sluggish and need a little pick me up! I sometimes just go up stairs and put some on my cotton round and freshen up my face and feel the coolness and gets my face clean and tightened up...LOVE it! It comes in two different sizes...I prefer the larger size...it is actually cheaper to buy the larger! There are different types for your skin type. Just go and have a very trained and talented person help you out. I promise you will not REGRET your purchase...if by chance you do...return it FREE!

I have used Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2 as part of my morning and nightly skin care routines for many years. A small amount on a cotton ball removes the last bit of makeup and dirt that the facial cleanser might have missed. In the evening, I use it after cleansing my face and before I apply my moisturizer. In the morning, I sometimes don't even wash my face, instead just swiping my face with the cotton ball with the Clarifying Lotion to remove any grime that might have accumulated on my face overnight prior to applying moisturizer. I think it not only cleans my skin, but also freshens it by removing dead skin cells. I have sensitive combination skin, and the Clarifying Lotion 2 works great for me. My skin has started becoming a bit drier over the years, but this formulation still seems appropriate to me. I don't use it if my skin is very dry or irritated, such as around my nose if I've had a bad cold, or if I've gotten a touch of sunburn or windburn, but otherwise it works for me year round. I am prone to breakouts on my neck and shoulders, so sometimes I use it in these areas as well and am always amazed at the dirt that comes off, even following a shower. I find the Clarifying Lotion to be especially effective at removing the extra hair color from the edge of my face and the back of my neck after having my hair colored, which has helped to reduce breakouts and irritation in these areas. I am a big fan of the Clinique skin care line and this product is a must for me. Scent No discernible scent, which is a good thing. Ease of Application You do have to be careful not to let the bottle topple over while open or you could lose a lot of product.

I really like Clinique Clarifying Lotion Step 2. I use it daily; always before bed but sometimes in the mornings as well after my shower and it never dries out my face. The smell is also very good and my daughter always comments on how good my face smells after I apply it. Clinique makes a pump container of this which typically comes out around the Holiday season that I like a lot better than the original container. With the pump you can just put your cotton ball or swissper on top and pump 2-3 times instead of having to pour the container onto the cotton ball. I think it makes it last longer for sure so I always try to buy the pump bottle or just refill the one I already own. I definitely have noticed a decrease in facial acne since making the application of this lotion a daily regime for myself. I also always feel very clean after using it as you can use it on your whole face and your neck as well.

I love this toner/ clarifying lotion, I cleanse my face every night then wipe all over with a cotton pad and a little Clinique clarifying lotion. I am 70 years old and have a very clear complexion and I think it is mostly because I never go to bed without using this toner. Effectiveness I think it is very effective Scent no scent at all

I'll admit - I got suckered into buying this because I have always been a Clinique fan. I got "matched" to skin type 2 (I mean, honestly, all they do is ask you 2-3 questions about your skin to tell you your type - they don't evaluate your answers at all) and started using the 3 step regimen, thinking it would help my skin. It felt good to use the clarifying lotion on my face every night - there was so much gunk left over from washing my face. However, after going through 2 large bottles of this, I noticed I consistently got breakouts on my cheeks. It wasn't until awhile later that I found out that my cheeks break out when I dry out my skin, and the loads of alcohol in this clarifying lotion was one of the reasons I was drying out my skin. It may help you remove dirt and oil in the short run, but using alcohol on your skin every day damages its ability to repair itself, and will leave your skin much worse in the long run. Plus, alcohol is drying, and drying out your skin leads to wrinkles. If you care about your skin at all, you will stop using this immediately. There is only 1 clinique toner that is alcohol-free, and that is the mild clarifying lotion. That is the only one I will use, and I do not use it on a daily basis. I only use it once in awhile when I feel I need extra cleansing in problem areas.

This is the first time I have ever used toner, so I really don't have anything to compare it to. It's been an interesting experience using it, because it tingles and burns a little, but I'm not sure if it really is working or not. I purchased it as part of the Clinique 3-Step skin care program, and have been using it as a follow up to the cleansing. I tip it over twice on a cotton ball and apply it all over my entire face and my neck. I see that it picks up the residue of my makeup, so I guess it works. Afterwards, my face does feel a little tighter and everything tingles, and then I apply the lotion. In terms of long term effects, I really don't know, because I have pretty good skin and I don't really have a problem with breakouts, so it was basically just an experimental product to test out. I don't know if I would continue to buy it again. I might give a different toner a try just for comparison. Scent It smells like alcohol

I always use toner in my facial skin care process, and I always think that it just a step to moisturize my skin,but do not realize that the toner is a necessary step to clean my skin a second time, and make my skin clean enough, until one of my friend tells me that she use the clinique clarifying lotion 2 for dry combination skin, and it can really clean skin once again, and she has kept using the toner for several years, and would keep using in the future, then she gave me a sample of the water with 60ml so I can test the effect of the toner, then decided whether should I buy one. Then I started to use the toner, after cleaned my face, I opened the little bottle, I can smell the alcohol's scent but nothing else,the scent was ok for me, since I really not care much about the scent so long as it does not smell bad. I applied someto a cotton pad, then touched around my face. When I finished my work, I found the cotton pad became dirty, it proved well that thetonerjust cleaned my face. And after a few days, I feel my face more smooth and soft,then I bought another bottle of water.Now I use it everyday after clean my face and before apply face cream, if it is not with my life, I can not imagine, and I do not worry about the cleanness of my face anymore.I love the toner, and I will keep using it in the future. But if you have sensitive skin type, and can not endure the alcohol scent, maybe it is not a good choice for you. In addition, I hope that clinique could produce a toner with the same function as #2, but no alcohol.
