Best waterproof sunscreen for those who burn easily

4

Coppertone Ultraguard Waterproof SPF 70 broad spectrum sunscreen is the very best sunscreen I have found for a long day in the sun (particularly if there is water involved). I burn extremely easily- to the point that I wear a light sunscreen every day in the summer because otherwise I will burn walking from my car into the grocery store (or wherever). But when I'm going to be in the water or out for an extended period of time I turn to Coppertone Ultraguard Waterproof SPF 70 every time. Scent I'll be honest, this sunscreen doesn't smell brilliant. It's kind of hard to describe the smell. It is slightly chemically smelling and has undertones of hot rubber scent (think car tires), but the less than ideal smell is a price I'm willing to pay for good protection. Absorption This sunscreen soaks into the skin well, but there's no doubt you are wearing sunscreen. It feels a little greasy, particularly at first. I recommend applying before going down to the beach unless you want sand to stick to you those first few minutes after application. Longevity This stuff lasts for hours. If you aren't in the water you can probably get away with applying once and forgetting about it. If you are swimming it might be a good idea to reapply at least once. This is a truly waterproof sunscreen- to the point you have to scrub to get it off in the shower after a day at the lake or the beach. Effectiveness By far the best sunscreen I have found for a long day out in the sun (particularly when water is involved). This is a broad spectrum sunscreen: meaning it protects against UVA and UVB rays.

Coppertone UltraGuard Protects Skin Very Well

If you live in a hot, sunny climate like I do, then you likely will need some protection from the sun, especially if your skin is fair. Some protection is better than none, but if the sun is exceptionally strong and bright, then more protection may be necessary and one of the highest levels of protection you can buy is that offered by Coppertone UltraGuard Waterproof Sunscreen SPF 70. **Sunscreen Commentary:** ** ** Coppertone UltraGuard Waterproof Sunscreen SPF 70 is a lotion- style sunscreen that protects against UVA and UVB rays. The lotion has a typical odd sunscreen smell and it has to be spread on manually. But it dries on in a matter of minutes and protects the skin from sun damage for hours- even in the water. I burn easily so whenever I think I will be outside for an extended time, I make sure to spread a little sunscreen around my exposed skin. I have found that 30 SPF protection isn't enough in many cases. If I am going to, say, an outdoor festival and the sun is shining, then a stronger level of protection is necessary and Coppertone UltraGuard Waterproof Sunscreen SPF 70 offers that added boost of sun protection. Coppertone UltraGuard Waterproof Sunscreen SPF 70 is a waterproof sunscreen that is true to its name. It does not wash off when in a pool and this is great when you want extra protection. The bad thing, however, is that it takes more effort to wash off. You basically have no choice but to take a shower after using this product and scrub yourself down with a washcloth. **Bottom- Line Viewpoint:** Coppertone UltraGuard Waterproof Sunscreen SPF 70 is a very good prodict that protects the skin from sunburn with almost guaranteed success. It does take effort to wash off and it takes time to apply, but it protects the skin with a good deal of efficiency. Scent Scent is nothing special and not that pleasant Absorption Absorbs into the skin with relative ease Longevity Lasts for a few hours, even in water Effectiveness Works well at protecting the skin from the sun. Ease of Application Have to spread it on manually

A great SPF number, but not my favorite

Last summer we went to Florida, and I packed all my sunscreens, but my husband got a little too much sun on the first day. Of to the local Wal-Mart I went and I picked up some Coppertone Untraguard SPF 70.  Usually I buy at least SPF 50, so I was hoping the SPF 70 would help. The vacation went well after that, but I can't say that the Coppertone had anything to do with it. We avoided the sun the next day, and although we used the Coppertone SPF 70, we continued to use our favorite Banana Boast SPF 50 in additon to the Coppertone. He could not have went out with just the Coppertone on or it would have been a red back day. I was more than disappointed, seeing that I paid alot more money for the Coppertone than I paid for my favorite Banana Boat, or even for some Ocean Potion that I picked up at a beachside shop in Florida.  Knowing that I paid so much more for the Coppertone, I expected it to work better than the others, when in fact it did not. We ended up using it in addition to the other sunscreens, but not by itself.  We brought the bottle home with us, and have used it in the early spring when mowing the yard, but would not use it alone in the summer. I guess for the early spring, it has worked well, but the sun isn't that hot and as bright yet, but if it keeps my husband from getting burned for the hour that it takes to mow the lawn, then it is worth it, but I would not go out and purchase then one again. I'll stick to the much better priced Banana Boat anyday.
