It is as if Craftsman decided to take nearly every tool they make and throw it into one large bundle. I was given this set as a gift after I already had several pieces featured in it. I would recommend researching what all is included and making sure you need everything. Because so much is included, you might already have some and could just buy a smaller set with only stuff you need. For over two hundred pieces, you cannot beat the price. One of my favorite sets featured in this is the hex keys. I like knowing I have a ton of different sizes at hand for those purchases that require some installation. I have had several different friends ask to borrow this from me before, so be prepared to share. I would recommend this set to anyone looking to start off their tool collection but probably not to someone who already owns several pieces included.

I bought the Craftsman 230 Piece Mechanics Tool Set for my husband last Christmas, and it has paid for itself many times over. Initially, it was to be kept in the vehicle in case of an emergency break down, or for regular vehicle maintenance, as my husband does a lot of his own mechanical work. It quickly proved to be invaluable for things other than working on the cars. He uses it on everything. It's versatile enough to be handy around the garage, in the workshop, and even in the home for repairs around the house. Now, my husband is not what you would call easy on his tools, nor is he the most organized. But with this set, it's easy to keep the tools organized and neatly stored so they are always there when you need them. Aside from a scratch here or a nick there, the tools have stayed in wonderful shape despite the heavy usage. There is no rust, or obvious signs of wear and tear that we've had problems with in the past from other tool sets of lesser quality. For the price, you really can't beat this set. I definitely recommend it for the fixer-upper in your life . It is still one of his favorite gifts ever.
