Overall good mower, clogs up frequently.

3

We have had this mower for about 3 years. Originally we bought this model because we lived at a home with a very sloped yard. The self-propelled feature is wonderful. It doesn't go too fast and definitely makes the slope manageable. Typically the mower starts on the first pull with a few exceptions. The price seemed fair relative to comparable models. Overall it's been a good mower and has run well with only standard maintenance. However, the one issue that can be hassle is that grass frequently clogs the chute to the bagger. My husband will literally have to stop every other pass to clear the chute. This wasn't a problem at our first home but the grass was less thick there. At our current home, it's been a consistent problem which adds about an hour to what would otherwise be a 90 minute job. There may be some maintenance we could have done which would alleviate this, but for the time being it's a big problem! I think if you had a yard with average thickness (and a little less crabgrass than we do) or lived in a dryer climate the mower would work fine.

keep the wheels off the sidewalk

I like the performance of this mower. It'll cut grass all day long. Very powerful, and fuels less than my old mower. I did have a few non warranted problems though. Mainly the wheels. The little gears stripped out inside the wheel itself. I also have lots of lawn near the sidewalk, and the tires spin the traction right off.The cost for replacement tire and wheels is comparable to some auto tires. This is a little unsettling. I hope they're not making it a throw away model. You really have to lube the self propel gears a lot or they will rust between seasons. The rear wheels did crack, I guess from the vibration. All in all pretty dependable machine. I think it may last many years. I like the fact that it's a Craftsman, but I think they've compromised some quality over the years through supply and demand.

Not bad but as as good as old ones

I bought this front wheel self propelled Craftsman lawnmower to replace a 12 years old back wheel self propelled electric start Craftsman mower that started leaking oil. I have to say I'm little dispointed by the differenece in quality between the old one and the new mower. The old one felt sturdier and better built. The new one is not too bad but feels not as well built as the old one. Handling of this 675 series with a briggs and startton engine is a little easier since it is front propelled rathe than the old back propelled since I could just tip the from up and stop going forward. Also the large wheels on the back of this mower made it easier to push in case I did not want to engage the power propelling on corners and in tight places. If feels though that it can not keep a straight line for some reason, maybe I have to get used to steering it since I'm used to the old back propelled mower still. This 675 series mower has a smaller bag than the old one but it is easier to empty. I still prefer the old mower over this one and will keep on using it untill it stops working totally.

simple mower at a great price

4

I wanted a powerful, simple mower to replace a worn out Toro propelled mower that was about 12 years old. One with a large engine, side discharge, and non-self propelled. I dislike propelled mowers because I have a lot of obstacles to mow around, and it's a hassle to continually turn the propel mechanism off and on. Plus it's a good way to exercise pushing a mower. I see too many people on riding mowers, even when they have small yards. :-)

another quality mower from craftsman

3

Of course craftsman did it again making a very high quality product at a very reasonable price. I purchased this lawn mower approxiamately twelve months ago and have used more than average. I not only use this mower for my own home I also use it at numerous other locations. For the effort it takes to use this mower you can get alot of time cutting grass. It has a powerful motor that tackles even the thickest of grass. I have used this mower in weeds up to my waist and I just cannot get it to bog down. It just keeps right on going. Also I have noticed this mower uses less gas than some of the other push mowers I have used making it even more cost effective. Craftsman has a great reputation for making affordable quality products and they have stood up to that reputation with this mower. I would recommend this mower to everyone from the once a week at home mower to the landscape contractors out there that do this for a living.

Craftsman 675 series

I think this Craftsman mower works very well. I usually buy Craftsman because they work well and they last a long time. This is a 22" wide mow so it makes mowing my yard pretty fast. It always starts on the first pull and it is self propelled so I don't really have to exert myself. I like that it is pretty easy to dump the lawn clippings out or I can also mulch if I decide to sometimes. It doesn't really take much upkeep and it starts when I am ready to mow. It has big wheels on the rear so that seems to make it easier to turn so I can keep my speed up as I am mowing and turning it for a new row. I would recommend to this for anyone, I think it would work very well in most yards. Even if you have a hill in your yard, the self propell action will make it easy.

The 675 keeps on mowing!

If you don't want to buy a riding lawn mower, please consider purchasing a self propelled one. This 675 has a bag included, but i threw it away too. I mulch and this thing mulchs just fine. The self propelling works great and certainly is a step up from the manually propelled models of the simular models. The price is a little high, but the quality really shines and makes the extra money seem like a well invested investment. I will say that the speed control isnot really usable, but i never use it anyway (i like to zip and get this stuff done so i can go back inside!) I purchased the extra warranty but to be honest, it's been over a year without any trouble, so i wouldn't recommend buying the extra warranty.

Pretty Good Craftsman Mower

4

While its no Poulan Pro, it does sport the same Briggs and Straton engine and therefore gets the bisquits seal of approval. I've been using this rig for some pretty rough terrain, but it always gets the job done. Stirs up a lot of dust in the not so flush areas, but at least I know the power is adequate. You have to keep on your toes though. Well on the tips of your shoes actually, because you shouldn't be mowing your lawn barefoot. That would just be reckless and silly. I mention the warning because the bar to activate the engine on mine now gets stuck against the handle and stays on even if I casually walk away. Not a problem though, because I rarely mow my lawn while inebriated. So yeah, this mower doesn't mix well with alcoholic beverages or any of those mind altering herbs. But if you stay on the straight an narrow, keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars, then you'll be happy with this brand of mower.

Craftsman 785 Series Lawn Mower makes the cut.

The Craftsman 675 Series 22" Self Propelled Lawn Mower was a rather expesive buy for me but worth it.  I did not want to spend the money on a lawn mower that I would just be replacing in a year or two.  It is self propelled which makes cutting the yard so much easier and faster.  It is easier on the back.  It is easy to start up and I have not had any problems with it not starting.  This was my biggest concern with any lawn mower so at this point in owning it I am pleased.  There is speed control which again is great depending on your time level or even just your mood.  The bag is easy to remove and empty.  It is also easy to clean.  I liek that it is not to big and bulky which makes it easier to carry when filled. THe color has not faded and I do not see any rusting on the lawn mover itself. The blades have held up and still give a decent cut. I like the extra features of this lawn mower. This is a quiality lawn mower and what I would expect from the Craftsman name brand.

The Craftsman Lawnmower is easy to operate.

This craftsman mower is easy to operate and is dependable.  I love to work in my yard, but I am getting older, so ease of operation is important to me.  This mower is exactly what I needed to keep my yard looking nice.
