This is the best ice cream maker ever! I did my research before buying the product, and I read all good reviews on it. I am very happy with my purchase. The appliance was larger than I expected it to be too. The ice cream is very smooth and creamy, and I love how you can make two different flavors at one time (or you can make a double batch of your favorite flavor)! It freezes well, soft serve as promised. I have made about 10 batches of ice cream since getting this machine. The recipes in the book are very good too, and you can even add you own personal touch to make an ice cream flavor you will love. This ice cream maker is convenient, quick and easy to clean. My son loves helping me when we make a batch of ice cream, it is fun to let your kids get in on helping out. It is a bit noisy though. I would highly recommend this product to anyone that loves ice cream and wants to make their own.

I make a lot of ice cream for the holidays - we're talking multiple quarts a day sometimes. I pack it in little pint containers for hostess gifts or as take home favors for guests after picnics. So, you can see that my ice cream maker is constantly running and sometimes one machine just is not enough. When I finally broke down and decided to invest in a dual ice cream maker I immediately thought of the dual version of my beloved Cuisinart - the Flavor Duo Ice Cream Maker. This is just as durable and well made as the single version but it allows you to make twice as much ice cream at a time which is awesome! I always keep the bowls in my freezer. It's just easier that way. I wash them after use, thoroughly dry them, and return them to the freezer until I need them again - usually within a day or so. I do keep mine in the sub-zero freezer since it's important to make sure it is completely frozen before you use it again. I love using this for different batches of ice cream. It's great to be able to do vanilla with red, white, and blue nonpareils in one and strawberry or chocolate in another. It has completely changed the way I make ice cream and I love that I can even make a double batch of a single flavor (such as pumpkin or peppermint stick) and freeze it all at once. If you go through a lot of ice cream for yourself or if you have kids or guests this is a great machine that you will absolutely love!

Where has this machine been hiding? I haven't had it long, but boy am I using it more than I thought I would. The cuisinart 1 quart duo flavor duo ice cream maker is absolutely fantastic and makes not only great ice cream, but sorbets and other frozen treats. I had a different ice cream maker that was only used maybe two times before I got rid of it. Then when my kids were bugging out that I gave that one away, we went and picked this one out. It's so cool because if one of my kids wants vanilla and the other wants chocolate, I can do both. If my husband wants sorbet and I want ice cream, it does that too. You can either have two quarts of the same or two different servings and have one quart of each. This ice cream maker is also a lot faster than I've very seen before. It can make a batch in a little over twenty minutes and for the quality and performance, it definitely is very inexpensive. It also makes another one of my favorites, frozen yogurt. Everyone once a while I can get my kids to eat the frozen yogurt because it's delicious and my favorite it's fat free. This brand also doesn't get jammed because of different things you may want to crush up and add to the ice cream. It's small and does not take up a lot of kitchen space. This is my new favorite ice cream maker. I would definitely recommend.

I had never made homemade icecream before but got sick and tired of the cost of sugar free ice cream. I mean I am glad they make sugar free ice cream for diabetics, but they charge an arm and a leg! I decided I was going to try my hand at it, and decided upon this model so I can make my sugar free ice cream for me on one side, and chocolate or another flavor for the rest of my family on the other side all at once! It is quite a time saver that way! I love the fact that because I am making it from scratch I can decide what ingredients do or do not go into it! I can substitute things to make it healthier or add things to make more adventurous types of ice creams than you can buy in the store. I must say my kids love it when I pull this machine out! An added bonus is you get to hear your family tell friends that you made homemade ice cream or to offer ice cream made from scratch to guests! Performance It works just as described! My only issue with it is that it is really noisy and loud, however that only lasts for about 20 to 25 minutes so just make sure you can get away from the kitchen for a half hour unless you want a headache! Durability I haven't had issues with it. Ease of Use very easy to use! I love the fact I can make ice cream from scratch for my family! Ease of Cleaning Easier than I thought it would be! Capacity I adore the fact I can make two batches of ice cream at once! Design The only thing I do not like about the design is the loud motors.

Cuisinart ICE-40 1-Quart Flavor Duo Ice Cream Maker was something that I purchased on a whim one day while I was on amazon.com and hungry for ice cream at the same time. I liked the concept that I could make two different flavors at once and that is what makes me the happiest about this machine. I can make two flavors or one flavor but twice as much. I have a hard time deciding what I want with food usually so for me this is the perfect machine. I wasn't in love with some of the recipes that it came with but I was able to look up plenty more recipes online so that was not a problem. When summertime rolls around, this appliance makes its way onto my countertop, and there it stays, until at least Halloween, making cameo appearancese through the colder months. This wonderful yet simple tool is fun and easy to use, cleans up wonderfully, and most importantly, makes the creation of a delicious homemade treat very enjoyable. With this ice cream maker, we have had great success making all types of frozen desserts, from ultra lowfat barely sweetened frozen yogurt, to the richest ice creams laden with candy chunks. The Cuisinart has stood up well to all of these tasks. The dual bowls are an excellent feature, allowing you to make two different types of ice cream simultaneously. This is especially useful since ice cream flavors can be so easily adapted to create different recipes. The smaller bowls also fit better than the larger variety in our small freezer, which is crucial, since the bowls have to chill for several hours (preferably overnight) before use. This appliance is slightly noisy, though, so don't attempt to use it in a room where you anticipate having to talk on the phone during its operation.

I like this product a lot. I've made frozen yogurt so far and didn't have any problems and thought the product came out quite good, maybe a little hard (but that's a recipe problem, not anything to do with the machine). I did buy the duo and maybe I should have bought the solo maker because I have not had a need to use both sides at the same time so far. I guess it does not hurt to have the option! Anyway, this product is superb and the only qualm I have is that it is a little big so you need to have the space to store it. And also, it's not a machine you can just whip out and make ice cream because you need to freeze the wells a day in advance. So other than that, the price is very reasonable and I would recommend it.

I recently received this Cuisinart Duo ice cream maker for Christmas. It is now one of my very favorite kitchen appliances. We use it ALL the time! Some reviews state that it is loud when it's churning. It is noisy but it isn't annoyingly loud and it only runs for 20 minutes or so. I would suggest keeping the bowls in the freezer all the time so that they are ready to go if you want to make a batch of ice cream at the last minute. We have received so many compliments on our homemade ice cream and service it to guests all the time. Our favorite flavor so far has been cookies and cream...yummy! I love that I can use the highest quality ingredients and I know exactly what I am feeding my family. This is a great addition to any kitchen!

This ice-cream maker is amazingly easy to use and produces wonderfully creamy ice-creams, sorbets, sherbets, etc.  Simply freeze the barrels for several hours, pour the mixed ingredients into the barrel, and turn on.  20 minutes or so later, it's done!  Viola!  We received this as a Christmas gift and I am so happy we did.  I can't believe I used to make ice-cream with one of the old-style, clunky machines, with all of the mess of the extra ingredients needed like the salt and junkit tablets...yuck!  I have 5 children, so I was a little concerned when I saw the size of the barrels, wondering if I would really be able to make enough ice-cream to feed all of my ice-cream loving children.  I used both barrels at the same time and I was pleasantly surprised.  Not only did all of my children (and hubby) get a generous serving of ice-cream, but there was some left over.  I doubt that I will be using the "single" flavor feature with my family size, but for those who have only a few family members to feed, it is a great feature to have available.  I am thrilled with my new sylish looking ice-cream maker.  It really delivers...hmmm, wonder what flavors I should make tomorrow?
