After we went through about 3 vacuums in 2 years of living in our apartment with our 4 cats, my husband surprised me with this vacuum for Christmas. It's amazing. I vacuumed the apartment and had to empty the canister 4 times! It picked up so much of the dirt and cat hair that the previous vacuums had left. It runs smoothly, but is very powerful, and our carpets look amazing after they are vacuumed. The couch attachment works very well too, and the extending handle makes it easy to clean hard-to-reach areas, as well as get to cobwebs on the walls and ceilings. Suction Performance It's true! It never loses suction!

I love this vacuum cleaner, no jokes about it. First of all, when you've got that many pets, as we do, and always trying to keep your house clean, not many devices could be that helpful. Dyson Vacuum is very effective indeed: it picks up off your carpet any smallest particle, any tiniest hair or crum. I would recommend this machine to anybody, who has in-house pets. You won't regret it, believe me.

The Dyson DC07 Vacuum is a godsend in our home.  With three kids (and their countless friends), five dogs, a parrot, three cats, four kittens and oh yeah, a husband; this vacuum is used daily.  I love the ability to switch from carpet to floor with one easy flip of the knob.  Our home has hardwood floors with area rugs and this vacuum works exceptionally well on both surfaces.  I can stop in the middle of a room, easily pull up the hose and extend a wand and reach those pesky corners with ease eliminating any 'dust bunnies'.  I will admit that I had a hard time with the price at first, but after adding up the cost of the three others we had been through in less than two years - I was willing to try it out and I am very very glad that we did.  The suction power amazes everyone who sees it.  My niece vacuumed my carpet with her new Hoover and I went back over it with my Dyson and she was in shock to say the least.  After a trip back to the store for a refund, we went and bought her a Dyson!

I bought the Dyson Pet Cyclonic Upright Vacuum over six years ago and have not regretted the price at all. Actually, at the time I bought it, I had online discounts, in addition to a sale price, so even though I paid  a lot, I was happy to get it at the price I did. My friends thought I was crazy to pay so much for a vacuum, but it works as good today as the day I bought it. My friends have all replaced their vacuums, some several times.  My house is tile and carpet. There are seven family members, their friends, and a large dog running through this house every day. The Dyson picks up everything on all the floors and furniture. I've even used the pet attachments to clean my car after the dog shed all over the car seats. I had tried to clean the car with the industrial-strength vacuum at the gas station and it didn't even come close to what the Dyson was able to clean. I've never had to repair it. I've saved a fortune in not having to use vacuum bags. After every use, it can be emptied with ease, so it doesn't smell from having to leave a half-filled, dirty bag in it. I recommend this vacuum, especially if you have pets. I lent it to my friend, who has three cats, and she could not believe how well it cleaned her furniture and carpets. She went out and bought one for herself. I don't even know what a new one costs, because I don't know if I'll ever had to replace this one. The only way I'd replace it, would be if I bought the new Dyson with the ball for easier maneuvering. A Dyson is the way to go for ease, convenience and value.

6 years ago my finacee moved into a condo and wanted something that would keep her carpets clean and get all the hair her cat left behind. She decided on a a Dyson DC07 Animal. At first she had multiple problems with the vacuum. The filter would clog easily. The brush wasn't picking up anything fromt eh carpet. But after a while, and some instruction on proper vacuuming techniques she began to really love her Dyson. About once a year I will take apart the brush assembly and clean it out and rinse out the filter and it is back in action for another year. The nice thing about it is I can clean the filter. Most vacuums require you to buy a replacement. The vacuum doesn't just clean carpets either. With the attachments she gets her upholstery cleaned as well. The vacuum is a bit on the pricey side. And if it wasn't for her cat, i would have probably gone with a much cheaper vacuum. But my experience has told me that with pet hair something with above average suction is always needed.

This vacuum has both good sides and bad. It's a nice design, but what I've found is that the filter tends to clog, or the cord will overheat, causing the vacuum to shut down until it cools down. This can make cleaning the house a very time consuming process. Other family members who have owned this vacuum has experienced similar problems in the past. The good side is that the canister is simple to empty, but make sure that you have the garbage bag good and ready, or else the dust will go everywhere. Not good for people who aren't paying attention and haven't used it before. Handy for someone who wants to just grab the canister and empty it without too much fuss. And of course, stray dust that falls out can be vacuumed up. It's not the greatest vacuum in the world, but it's gotten the job done for several years now.

We purchased this several years ago to replace our cannister vacuum and we absolutely love it! We have multiple pets and it really does a great job capturing pet hair. It's probably the easiest vacuum I've ever used. So simple to switch from the floor vacuum to the handle vacuum with attachments. My Dyson also has a self leveling feature that allows you to go from longer pile to shorter pile carpet without having to readjust. I also love that it never has that old yucky vacuum smell that many bag vacuums get after a while. We also save lots of money because of the bagless feature. I would reccommend this vacuum to anybody. The only thing I recommend is being sure to clean the filters once in a while. Will help tremendously if you think the suction power is getting weak.

When we bought a vacuum for our house we had cats and we wanted something really good. We finally chose the Dyson becasue it looked great and it seemed like it would not lose suction. While it was good in some areas: The vacuuming of pet fur, use of other accessories, and tile floors were quite good.However, when we started to have issues with the suction and after about a year or so-it definitely did not seem to work as well. It did not work s great on the carpeted areas. We would keep having to go over the same areas. It was very annoying. The suction was in and out after awhile,too. It would work and then suddenly it didn't work as well..We found it very frustrating and finally, we gave uo on this very expensive vacuum...

The Dyson purple vacuum is excellent at what it does. It requires no bags: you can see when it needs to be emptied and it is a very easy process (even if the trap door does not always want to stay closed afterwards.) It is modular, easy to take apart and lightweight for a vacuum cleaner. It has a hepa filter that makes it ideal for homes where allergens can be an issue. While the attachments allow for its ease of use and adaptability, the one area where it has a real problem is as a straightforward vacuum cleaner. Any items that are thicker than a dime it will push in front of it instead of picking up. While it is fantastic at pulling up microscopic dust out of carpet nap, more often than not it will roll right over a blade of grass on the carpet as if it was painted there. I love the my Dyson, make no mistake, but while it never loses suction, the suction is just not as powerful as a vacuum cleaner really should be.
