Avoid this airline and save money and annoyance

1

I would give this airline a 0 star if possible..they started to force half the flight to check their bags at the gate from Athens to Italy (a short 1 hour flight) at a cost of $55.00. It got to a point that unless you had a knapsack, the gate personnel would not leave you alone. They told me that unless I pay $55.00 to check my carry on bag (that fit on my way to Athens) that I would have to leave my bag in Athens. The flight had plenty of empty seats and it seemed to be a way for Easy Jet to make up the money they were possibly loosing. Again, find another airline..this one might offer a lower fare to start, but costs just as much if not more after they force you to check carry on baggage that does fit in the overhead compartments in the cabin.

The Orange Airline

When traveling on a budget, EasyJet was the way to go. It was the summer after my freshman year of college. I was spending the entire summer studying abroad at Oxford University in Oxford, England. Between terms and on the weekends, we often hopped the Eurorail for some backpacking adventures. During this particular weekend, we decided to fly, but being poor college students, we needed something cheap. That is how we happened upon EasyJet. All in all, flying this airline was not a bad experience, but it was definitely a budget experience. I had flown British Airways to get to England from the United States, so my standards had just been set pretty high after an amazing experience. In this instance, you do get what you pay for regarding airline experiences. EasyJet was merely a way to get from Point A to Point B and nothing more. There were no amenities and very little customer service. However, I was paying for travel, not for luxury. So, in that sense, EasyJet accomplished their mission. I think since then they may have been bought by a larger airline, but I'm not positive. I do recommend EasyJet for cheap travel, but know that you will most likely fly to and from the most obscure, unheard of airports.

Cheap... and you get cheap back

I flew easy jet in Europe when I wasn't flying to far. The tickets are cheap but you get cheap service back. First of all, they use their own terminal so you have to go to this small and crappy terminal to board. The lines are super chaotic and people are everywhere. You get charged for you bag unless it fits into a very small bag check (they are strict about this so measure carefully). The flight is not directly connected to the gate so you have to go out and walk up stairs to board - even if the weather is bad. The seats are crowded so don't fly more than 3-4 hours or you will feel cramped. I really don't recommend this airline unless you really want to save some bucks. Service Everything is quite inconvenient - I especially hate their own terminals that are poorly organized and chaotic. In-Flight Accommodations You don't really get any service on the flight. The seats are also close together so it is hard to move around.

I think I may be one of the few travelers who has had a rather positive experience with EasyJet. Last year was my first time flying on EasyJet when I was on a business trip in Italy. While both of the flights that I selected to book my tickets on were rather full, the boarding process ran smoothly and one of them even landed half an hour early. I was rather impressed by many of the in-flight accommodations offered and the customer service representatives I encountered as I checked in upon arriving at the airport. I would say that they are on par with British Airlines (one of the top tier European airlines today). If given the opportunity, I would probably fly EasyJet again. Service EasyJet services a lot of the major airports throughout Europe. They seem to offer a great deal of flight destinations and departing times. I was greeted with a smile upon check-in at the airport and again at the gate upon boarding. In-Flight Accommodations The in-flight accommodations offered by EasyJet are about average with other major European and international airlines.

Easy and Super Affordable: the best low-cost airline out there

4

When I was in Europe, I flew with EasyJet numerous times and not once did I have an issue. The airline offers flights to major destinations all over Europe at super low prices (if you book your tickets a month or two before). If you compare EasyJet with its counterpart Ryanair, it's evident that EasyJet is way better. EasyJet encompasses everything that a low-cost airlines should be. Like Ryanair, EasyJet's boarding gates are often the farthest from the security checkpoints, they only allow one complementary carry-on bag, and there's no inflight movie or free food/drinks (they are available for purchase though). But the similarities stop there. You can tell that although EasyJet is a low-cost airline, it still tries to present itself as high-quality. EasyJet's website is way more organized and pleasing to the eye than Ryanair's (Ryanair DID recently change their website, but it was a mess before). The boarding gates for EasyJet actually offer places to sit and wait, and EasyJet planes fly to and from both major and minor airports (unlike Ryanair, which sometimes only flies to the smaller, minor airports in major cities). EasyJet is also much more lenient about carry-on baggage. My carry-on bag that I used all through Europe was normal by American standards but definitely way too big by European standards, but EasyJet never stopped me once when I was boarding and never charged me extra fees. On the other hand, Ryanair has stopped me a few times and I had to pay as much as 60 pounds in oversize fees. Overall, EasyJet is the perfect example of what a low-cost airline should be. It's cheap and offers flights to tons of destinations, but it tries its best to not sacrifice quality. Other low-cost airlines should definitely take note!

Horrible Airline

1

EasyJet is the only company that has ever caused me to make a complaint about an employee. I usually don't do that because I feel bad as people may just be having a bad day, but I had an EasyJet employee yell at me when she would not comply with the luggage policy and accuse me of trying to pelt luggage at her when it hit her arm after asking me to weigh the bag multiple times. Since I have arthritis in my hands, it was really difficult for me, so I hoisted one of the bags over the top of the other one to make it easier on me instead of removing the one in front for the fourth time. The handle hit her arm in the process and she accused me of attempting to hit her. I explained that it isn't easy for me to lift things repeatedly, but she told me she didn't care that I had health problems and that I had done it purposely. She then quoted me a price triple that of the flight for my luggage because she would not accept that I could zip one of my bags into another. She tried to hold my boarding pass hostage when I said I was going to go to another agent and maintained it would be the same no matter whom I asked...however the next agent only charged me 40 euro for my bags when she was trying to get 360 out of me. In general, the airline just plays games to get more money....weighing your bag and measuring it at several check points is just silly and humiliating. Plus, they provide nothing on the flight in the way of entertainment, food or anything else. Because of the way they treat you, everyone is grumpy on the flight which then makes the trip even less pleasant!

Used to be decent but no longer

Years ago Easyjet were a very decent budget airline. The cost of flights were low and they really weren't too bad. They had a very reasonable luggage policy, they flew to good places, the seats were comfortable enough and the service wasn't appalling. However, over time they have become worse and worse. The flights are now only a tiny bit cheaper than major airlines (like British Airways) and once you take into account hidden luggage fees and on board food costs they probably come out the same price. There are much fewer airport options and the flights are almost always at horrible times. The staff often seemed very slow boarding the planes and spent a lot of time chatting to each other ignoring their passengers. It wasn't uncommon to encounter delays because they couldn't get the planes turned around in time from an incoming flight to a departing one. I used to consider Easyjet one of the better budget airlines, but now I would pay the few extra pounds/dollars to fly a main airline and avoid the hassle.

Not so easy!

May 14,2011 from Thessaloniki to Berlin.More than 5 hours of delay due to strikes of the easyjet's employees or partners in Germany. We had to lose the train (prepaid tickets) from Berlin to Dresden and we asked the easyjet representative who told us that we should send by e-mail the train ticket in order to get the money from easyjet. After getting back from Berlin (thank god not with easyjet) we send the ticket by e-mail but the easyjet customer service representative told us that his colleague at the Thessaloniki airport was wrong and that no reimbursement could apply.Really unreliable!Never prepay train, car or hotel when traveling with easyjet! It is so possible that you will just lose your money! It was the first time traveling with easyjet and I would not recommend it!

Wost Airline experience ever

1

Worst airline customer service I have ever experienced. Ended up costing more than if I had taken a real airline. I have over 4 millon miles, so not a rookie. The flight from London to Madrid was delayed from 15:55 to 17:05. No issues there, it happens. As I am sitting in front of the monitors, reading my book at 16:20, I notice that the status has changed to: Proceed to Gate 28. I did so. When I arrived at the gate, I and a half dozen others were told that the flight had already departed. We were obviously upset, and the group staff was extremely rude and inflamed the situation. We asked to talk to a supervisor, we were refused. I should mention the plane was still on the ground. To make a long sad story shorter, they made us wait overnight for a 07:15 flight, charged us 50Euro, and did nothing but blame us for missing the flight. There were several groups all in the same situation. There response, over 100 people made the flight, why didn't you. There were no announcements, and the flight update could not have been on the board more than 30 minutes. The unprofessional attitude, the uncaring personal, and the unflexible position means that I will never use this airline again.

This Airline is so unreasonable

1

Compared to other low cost airlines this one has the worst policy ever, when weather ash and snow in my experience causes them to cancel one leg of a flight they refuse to refund the other - on the basis they will fly you from where you could not get to because the first flight with them was cancelled. And they don't have a catch 22 clause in there terms and conditions - avoid them like the plague.
