A healthy lifestyle diet

5

This is a healthy lifestyle diet as much as (if not more) than a weight loss diet; upon the recommendation of my nutrition and wellness physician. I followed the eat right for your type protocol strictly for six months; I was able to gradually add more of the neutral foods. I generally felt better shortly after starting the protocol; I slept better, had less pain and stiffness, breathed easier and had more energy; overall health improved gradually over several months. Effectiveness As with any diet it is as effective as the commitment to follow the diet long enough to appreciate a benefit; it takes 3-4 months for any diet change to appreciate a cumulative affect. The changes you see in 3-4 months will hopefully give you the incentive to make it a life-style change because if you go back to the same old diet, you will have the same outcome as before; you are what you eat. There is no easy fix; do the work and reap the reward. Side Effects better overall health Ease of Use There is a "learning curve" to adapt to the list but is gradually gets easier and after a few months it is almost second nature.

Interesting Book

4

I purchased this book years ago as the description sounded interesting. The premise of the book is very simple, the sections pertain to all of the blood types. The book goes into detail about what each blood type should eat and why those food are beneficial to that blood type. All I needed to do was look up my blood type and there was a list of food that was labeled to avoid and those that I should consume. Each blood type description is written in this manner. I am not sure what research went into writing this book or if this book really works for people, but I did enjoy reading the book. Also, this book reminded me that I need to consumer more vegetables and have more bean type protein in my diet. If you decide to eat for your blood type, this book is very straightforward and to the point. It is a very easy read. The information is presented clearly. Overall, this is a very interesting book. I did try to incorporate more of the foods this book said was good for my blood type. I did not really see any changes in how I felt.. Ease of Use If you decide to eat for your blood type, this book is very straightforward and to the point. It is an easy read. The information is presented clearly.

Great diet, Great book

5

I like the individualized approach of this book and diet. I am a firm believer that not everyone can lose weight and stay healthy by following the same diet or lifestyle. After reading the book, I started following the recommendations in this book for my blood type, type A. I learned that I have been approaching weight loss incorrectly in previous years. In fact, I really didn't need to count calories or restrict my diet, only eat the foods recommended for my blood type. I have always tried working out strenuously to lose weight on top of restricting my diet. I learned that strenuous exercise isn't beneficial for everyone. I am more prone to lose weight and be healthier if I participate in yoga or tai chi. I am very grateful for this diet and book. It has changed my life. I feel healthier, have more energy and my digestive issues have gone away. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a personalized approach to dieting and staying healthy. Ease of Use I had to give up some of the foods that I love and have enjoyed for years. But the results are worth it. I have more energy and feel alive again.

This diet is full of restrictions and hard to stick with.

I started this diet with a friend and did not really sit down and research it as much as I should have. I am pretty sure she did not research it either. I bought the book and saw that many foods were restricted for my blood type. I tried very hard to stay away from those foods, but it was difficult. It was a boring diet. I had to eat according to my blood type and this was supposedly going to help me lose weight. I did not lose very much weight on this diet, because I felt deprived and this led to me cheating more often than any other diet I have tried. Also, after sitting down and actually researching this diet, I found that is a very significant lack of scientific proof to back up the creator's claims (Dr. Peter D'Adamo). This plan does get you to eat healthier, but it becomes so boring after awhile from eating the same things all the time, that I was just not able to stick with it. This is not a diet I would recommend nor would I try it again in the future.

This Diet Will Help You Lose A Little Weight

This is a good book to use for dieting. It is pretty straight forward on how to lose weight. It works off your specific blood type. The blood types this book focuses on is O,A,B, and the rarest blood type AB. My blood type is B. I'm suppose to eat certian foods for my blood type. I'm also supposed to exercise and take certain vitamins. I really enjoy researching which foods and vitamins are best for me. Lucky for me, most of the food selections I am supposed to eat I enjoy. I'm a picky eater, but I like my choices. I now know which foods I should stay away from. I can still eat the foods I like, but not as much as I did in the past. I have a personal profile I must follow as well. This diet is time-consuming but fun. This diet works, but it's a bit expensive. If you have extra money to spend this is a good diet to try. You'll be able to buy all the things you will need for maximum results. I like the design, graphics and information in this book. You will lose a little weight, at least I did. I didn't lose as much as I wanted, but I did lose some. I give "Eat Right 4 Your Type" 4 STARS out of 5.

Eat Right 4 Your Type

I am not a huge fan of diets, but this book will definitely give you something new to think about. I don't think of this as a diet, but more of a guideline on how to eat for your blood type. I think we all need a variety of foods in our diets, and I don't eliminate any food groups. I think everything is OK in moderation, as long as you are eating whole foods and not over processed foods. Effectiveness I didn't get good results with this diet, but I did enjoy reading the book and did use some of the recipes included in the book. I try to eat a variety of whole foods, and don't eliminate any foods from my diet. I think everything in moderation is ok. Side Effects There are no side effects with this diet. Ease of Use I found this diet harder to follow and harder to understand than other diets. It is hard to eliminate certain foods from your diet, especially when you have a family full of different blood types! I think we all need a variety of foods to keep us healthy..

Very Helpful and Informative

I tried the Eat Right 4 Your Type diet about five years ago and did actually lose a few pounds. This diet program basically just teaches you that everyone's body is different and that your dietary needs aren't necessarily the same as anyone else's. I had trouble getting adjusted to the Eat Right 4 Your Type diet at first but after sticking with it, I got used to it and it was no longer a problem. I don't feel as though this plan was so much of a diet but more of guide to eating better and healthier. If you follow the Eat Right 4 Your Type, you will definitely lose a few pounds as well as you will change your whole attitude about food and how much you consume. I had great results with this book and would definitely recommend it to everyone, whether you are needing to lose a little or alot of weight. This can be a very helpful program if you are truly dedicated to losing weight.

Cool premise

I have tried this diet numerous times. I don't really consider this as much of a weight loss diet as a different way to think about eating and focusing on what foods work for your body/blood type and which ones you should avoid. Adhering to the diet has all kinds of positive affects. By eliminating or reducing consumption of certain types of foods I was able to help my body function better. I also learned a lot about which foods to eat/avoid to keep my system running in top condition. I have always needed/feel like I needed a lot of protein to feel strong and ensure that I have more energy. This book told me that my blood type needs meat and there were a few other food items on my blood type this that I really resonated with in terms of knowing that I've always felt like I have needed/liked or disliked/affected me. These foods can weaken your system, affect things like sinuses, etc. It's just incredible how it all ties in, it's a very holistic approach to dieting. While I do not adhere to this diet all the time, I am always mindful of my lists of food and like to review them periodically just to rethink on how things affect me.

This diet did not work for me.

1

This diet didn't work for me. I know that The Eat Right For Your Blood Type was very popular about ten years ago. Back then I knew no one else on it but I did know some others who did it. I did try it myself. I did everything the diet book told me to do. I followed it religiously. I ate what they told me I could. After six months on it, I was back to where I was in the first place. Any pounds I lost would come back at the end of every week. I ended up wasting my time and energy on this diet. It doesn't work.... period. If it worked, they'd be zillions of people skinny and no epidemic of obesity in this country. Simple put, this diet not only works, but it made me feel really bad all the time. I had no energy. I felt awful. One particular day I woke up, and I couldn't get out of the bed. Everybody told me what to eat right then that would help, but it was not "approved." So I stayed bedridden two days until I said that I had enough. I then got off the diet. In one day's time, I was back to normal. I will NEVER try this "diet: again and do not recommend it.

NEVER NOTICED ANY DIFFERENCE

1

The information is very entertaining. But as for weight-loss no one in our family noticed any slimming down or weight loss and we tried it for one experimental month which we thought was more than enough time to surface even the slightest results. As for the listing of what Type can/can't eat limits menu preparation for the entire family and this is not easy to do in busy households. Then there is the factor that some family members have allergies to some of the listed foods for their Type. As far as we were concerned, it was another gimmick using science to dupe us into yet another weight-loss system that doesn't work. Effectiveness There was nothing significantly effective about this plan except to entertain us with its information/misinformation! Side Effects Other than huge disappointment at neither feeling better or losing weight there were no other side effects. Ease of Use Having to feed different family members according to their Type makes it very difficult for the meal planner to serve foods in combinations to suit everyone.
