It doesn't clean my scalp the way head and shoulders does. It leaves it just as dry and itchy as it was before, whereas Head&Shoulders gives me a clean fresh feeling. Equate sucks if you suffer from dry scalp or dandruff. Effectiveness It doesn't clean my scalp the way it needs to be. Scent Green Apple smells really good.

This shampoo really helped to calm down my itchy scalp. On the first day of having washed hair, my head does not itch at all. As the days go on it gradually gets itchier, especially on third day hair. It helped the slightest bit with dandruff, but I still had noticeable flakes. I ended up having to put my hair up into a bun to hide them. It cleaned oil quite well and my hair felt clean. It smelled pretty good and it smelled like chemicals, but that goes with almost any dandruff shampoo. Effectiveness It helped relieve my itchy scalp very well! I did not have to scratch my scalp throughout the first couple days, but it did not work for dandruff. I still had some pretty big flakes on the crown of my head. Scent It smells like chemicals, but I like it. It can burn your nose if you smell it for a long time though, so I don't just put it up to my nose to smell it. It is completely fine if you apply it straight to your scalp. The smell does not linger throughout the day.

I went to Wal-Mart to get dandruff shampoo and I usually use Selsun Blue but they didn't carry it so the comparable product was Equate and I will NEVER buy it again!  It's a very thick and messy blue shampoo and it has a strong smell to it.  It doesn't lather up very well and I don't think it's doing any good for my hair.  I do not recommend it.  Pay more for something else!

I'll admit it, I was very sceptical about trying this shampoo instead of my usual Head and Shoulders. The store was out of stock of my usual, and boy am I glad they were! I love the way my hair feels and looks, and for a significantly less amount of money. The only thing I miss is the smell of my old shampoo, but Equate Dandruff Shampoo smells pretty good, too.

I have sensitive skin, and a dry sclap, needless to say I have red hair, during the winter months. is when my scalp and skin seem to be at its worse, I need something thats going to work, so I thought I would save some money and still get the job done, not quite, my sclap is still dry and ithcy, never the less it's embarrassing to be scratching your head at work or in public for that matter, this is a situation when you call in the pro's and bite the bullet and pay for QUALITY!

Hello my name is Tyler and this is my review for Equate Dandruff Shampoo. First off I care a lot about my hair because I love it and so do the ladies. However I suffer from dandruff. This product does an okay job with my dandruff problem. I don't think it works as good as Head & Shoulders though. Equate dandruff shampoo takes care of some of my dandruff but not all of it. As too where Head & Shoulders normally takes care of all of my dandruff. This product is also just like every dandruff shampoo that I have tried it doesn't really make my hair feel clean. It also doesnt help my hair shine. Even when I use Head & Shoulders my hair doesn't feel this way. So after i wash my hair with a dandruff shampoo I go back and wash my hair again with Axe 2 in 1 shampoo to get the clean feeling and shine that I'm looking for. Ultimately this is a mediocre product that I would not recommend unless you only have a slight dandruff problem. Hope this will help in your decision process. Thanks  Tyler

My husband doesn't have a bad case of dandruff, just an occasional flair up, but he still uses dandruff shampoos every day. After buying Head and Shoulders for years, we decided to try the Equate Dandruff Shampoo to save money. It doesn't have the same wonderful smell as Head and Shoulders, but works just as good. My husbands hair looks and feels great. I love using the shampoo because of the smell, but have been told that it is hard on a person's hair if you want to color or lighten your hair. I was told that it works on our hair like chlorine, so I don't use it often. Talk with your hair dresser before getting your hair colored or highlights so you don't damage your hair more. It does say on the back of the bottle that is is Gentle and PH balanced for everyday use, even for permed or color-treated hair. This is a wonderful product for anyone who is trying to save money, so yes I would recommend it to anyone.

I may be 52, but I love my long hair. Finding a shampoo that doesn't dry it out and yet helps with the itching and flakes I sometimes get is hard. At least if I want to NOT spend a fortune on it. That is why I love Equate Dandruff Shampoo. It smells good. My hair is soft after I use it and it is manageable. It also does a great job of stopping the itching. The bonus is that if I need to, I can use it everyday. It is that gentle.  With money being tight the way it is it is nice to find a product that is good, but also reasonable. I have a dog that sweats. Because of this she brakes out and itches. So, I washed her in it. She smelt great and was happy. NO more itching. Hey if it is safe for my dog it has to be safe for me, right? It also made her fur soft. I am not recommended this product for your pet, but diffidently for any person who wants nice smelling, soft hair and an itch free scalp, and you don't want to spend a lot of money. Thanks Equate for doing such a good job.
