The Equate Maximum Strength Non-Drowsy Nasal Decongestant PE does not work all that well for me on my nasal congestion. Sometimes that is because I feel congested but my sinuses are swollen (and I use a flonase spray) as opposed to congestion caused by colds, the flu, and other common health problems. Because it is non-drowsy, it is good to take during the daytime while working, but it is not good if you want to sleep (either regular nighttime sleep or sleep to recover during the day). Congestion Relief The main purpose of this medication is to relieve congestion, and it seems to do decently at that. Chest Congestion Relief This medication helps with chest congestion only because it helps with nasal congestion so there is less filling up your lungs as you cough and clear them out. Relief of Aches & Pains This medication does nothing to relieve aches and pains. Cough Suppression This medication does not do very well with cough suppression; it only works in the sense that it clears out your sinuses so their is less congestion to cough up.

I first used this when I was pregnant. I had a cold and was very limited on what I could take. I only expected it to help a little but it did much more than that! It completely wiped out all my cold symptoms, including cough, nasal congestion, chest congestion, and runny nose. And at a fraction of a price of a name brand! I have no complaints!! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone, including those that aren't expecting. These pills use the active ingredient phenylephrine hydrochloride (10 mg) which acts a decongestant to clear the sinus and chest. Common colds, hay fever, and allergies can all lead to congestion and Equate Nasal Decongestant is an effective weapon against these annoyances. These tablets go to work quickly and even after about 20 minutes, you can already feel a difference as the ingredients start to break down congestion and clear the sinuses. Equate Nasal Decongestant PE is an effective product and among its many appeals, the one that ranks first in the minds of most consumers is the low price. Equate products are far less expensive that other products and this particular product is no different. It is priced at half that of the more poopular brands yet works just about as well. **Bottom Line Viewpoint:** Nasal congestion is a real annoyance more than anything and Equate Nasal Decongestant is a product ready to eliminate the problem and restore open sinuses and breathing. It is a shame that you can only buy it at Wal- Mart and it would be nice if a tablet provided longer relief (only good for four hours). But for this level of relief at this low price, Equate Nasal Decongestant PE is a product worth using. I have been using Equate Nasal Decongestant PE for several years now.  Equate is the Wal-Mart store brand.  I have Sinus allergies, where my nose gets stuffy and it is difficult to breathe through my nose.  I seem to be allergic to a variety of irritants, particularly in the summer.  I have found that the Equate version is just as effective as Sudafed, for a fraction of the cost.  I take around one to two pills per day in the summer, and this keeps my breathing freely through my nose.  The PE in the name indicates that this product does not contain pseudoephedrine, which used to be the active ingrediant in all Sudafeds and their equivalents.  The government has made it much harder to get products with pseudoephedrine, because teenagers use them to get high and they are an ingredient in methamphetamine.  I have found that the PE version is as effective.  I also have heard that pseudoephedrine is associted with some health issues like high blood pressure, so I recommend the PE version to anyone who takes decongestants frequently.
