Nice, good-looking functional scale
I was looking for a scale that would measure more than just the pounds, but also body fat. Additionally, I needed something that wouldn't break the bank, that was attractive, and was not bulky and awkward. I couldn't be happier with this Escali scale. I am the only one using it, so the 10-person setting doesn't have much advantage to me, but I still like that it stores my information. It was a little tricky for me to set it up for some reason, even though I followed the instructions very carefully. In order to trigger your settings, I press and hold the ball of my foot to the center of the scale, and it brings up my profile. You do need to make sure that you are barefoot when using this scale, otherwise it will not be able to measure you. Are the fat/water weight measures accurate? I am not sure. However, in my opinion, it is all relative, and it does seem pretty consistent in its measurements. As a result, I pay more attention to the relative change rather than the actual number itself. As for the weight, yes, it is accurate in measuring your weight, and I DO take those numbers at value! I've tried stepping on and off several times in succession to see if I got the same number, and it always consistently came up with the same number. The only thing to be cautious of is the fact that this thing can tip very easily. Due to the design, it does not seem to balance weight most effectively, and can easily tip if you're not careful. That being said, once you know and are aware of this, you can take measures to step on carefully so this doesn't happen. It is a minor flaw in an otherwise fantastic scale.
