I just don't know about this Eureka Cyclonic vacuum

3

I bought the Eureka 2991AVZ Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum. I used it a number of times.. The vacuum worked wonderfully at the beginning.. Needless to say it did NOT last long at all. I only had the vacuum for approximately three months and it stopped sucking up well. And no.. It was not clogged in any way and everything that needed regular cleaning and changing was done! I would never buy this vacuum again or reccommend it to any one else in this world. I am still currently using the Eureka brand and am quite happy with it! Maybe it was just a bad model for them or maybe I just got a 'bad' one.. I don't know, but I do know that I would reccommend Eureka the brand itself to any one and every one..  It is a great and less expensive brand. If you are sincerely thinking about this vacuum cleaner I would definately do a lot more research from other owners of this vacuum and see how everything managed to wok out for them.. Good luck!  :)

Eureka Altima Vaccum

This vacuum was a huge improvement over my first vacuum that I got back in my college days.  When I first got it I absolutely loved the Power Paw attachment that came with it.  That worked great on my furniture and the carpeted steps for cleaning up cat fur from my two cats.  However, after a couple of months of using the vacuum the Power Paw got clogged up.  I was able to take it apart and pull out the cat fur that was clogging it but in the process a small piece of plastic in it was chipped.  After that the Power Paw was pretty worthless and wouldn't do much.  The hose on the vacuum is also very short so it is hard to use on the tops of the couch and it takes some balance and coordination to use this vacuum on the steps since the hose doesn't reach very far.  It is a bagless vacuum, which is very nice for cleanup but the filters on it clog very easily so then it does not vacuum well.  I really only have one large rug in my living room, my couch and two chairs and one flight of stairs that I vacuum so it isn't used very extensively.  I'd hate to use this in a house that has a lot more carpeting than I do.

Looses suction power

I have spent way too much of my life cleaning out this vacuum cleaner. There are several filters to clean, the traps, the roller, etc. If they are not all clean then the vacuums does not have great suctions.

Good for small jobs.

We got this vacuum for a 1400 square foot apt. with two small children. We just wanted a regular vacuum for small jobs and dirt. We do not have pets, and no heavily soiled areas. This vacuumed seemed to be good for the job we needed it for. For the first few months it was great. It was a little louder than we had wanted, but we dealt with that. When we moved into a new house, which we installed longer twist carpet, the vacuum started to have problems. It would get hot quickly. The rollers would get tangled quickly and need to be cleaned out. The filter began to stop filtering correctly. Soon the vacuum became louder and louder. Now, every time it is turned on it has an incredibly loud roar. It is actually quite ridiculous. We have tried to fix the problem, but the vacuum just seems to have trouble. If you need a vacuum for basically NO dirt and very small jobs, this may be for you. If you need a regular household vacuum, I would suggest getting something different.

Eureka Altima - one of the better vacuums I've owned.

After going through several vacuums in a short period of time, we ended up purchasing the Eureka Altima. Comparing the price to the vacuum we owned before it, this Eureka was half the price. However, we had received some positive feedback from friends who owed the Altima and decided to give it a try. We do have a Golden Retriever (sheds a lot!) so we are vacuuming very frequently! We have now had this vacuum over a year and have been mostly pleased with it. It is definitely a great value, performing better than vacuums twice the price. It felt fairly light and easy to move across surfaces compared to many other vacuums. It sucks (in a good way!) and usually only takes one or two times over an area to clean the carpet. The hose works great and while it does come with several attachments, I've not used them more than a few times. The hose on it's own has worked great for furniture, stairs, and corners. It is easy to empty out the main compartment that stores the dirt/particles it sucks up. My only complaint is that we've had problems with it becoming clogged and have frequently had to spend anywhere from a half hour to an hour taking it apart and unclogging it. There are also several filters that we have to clean usually once or twice a month, which seems a bit cumbersome. Overall a great vacuum for a great price. One of the better vacuums we've owned.

Works well

I have used my vaccume for a while now and like it very much I have read some of the other reviews and people are not impressed. Well it is not a high end vaccum but I think for the price paid it does a very good job on carpet it how ever doesn't perform well on bare floors. It picks up pet hair a lot better than my old vac that wouldn't pick up at all. The hose is a little clumbersum. but very easy to detach and use I also like the pet hair attachment for the arms of the cocuh and chairs works well.

spend your money on something else

I brought this Vaccum because I thought I was getting a quality product, but It lasted less than a year. I could have gotten a less expense one and been happier. It was very loud and bulky. I had a previous baggless vaccum which worked well, but this model did not seem to work as well. Did not like that the filter clogged quickly.  All thought baggless it just seem to admit a lot of dust, which made it a messy. CHanging was al so messy, lots of dusty.  Has three fliters, for what???  It was powerful for a while then just seem to get clogged. And I was not to happy witht he dusty tool, just did not work that well. Good idea though.

The Eureka 2991AVZ helps both big & small messes.

With 7 children in and out of the house various times throughout the day along with 2 dogs; and yes the 2 adults (myself & my partner) are ALL quite messy.  This vacuum works great when there is a small mess dropped on the kitchen floor; bigger messes after a Saturday & Sunday when everyone has been home all day; as well as when doing Spring Cleaning and vacuuming some of those areas that may not have had much attention during the winter.

Great on carpets, terrible on floors

I bought this vacuum because I have hardwood floors and carpets.  The problem is that the spinning brush in the head of the vacuum spits dirt and debris back out the other end.  I ended up having to use the attachment hose to clean the hardwood floors.  It's backbreaking and tedious work, even for our small condo.  DO NOT BUY THIS VACUUM IF YOU HAVE HARDWOOD FLOORS.  You need a vacuum that can turn the spinning function off.  I hate this vacuum and have since replaced it with a canister vacuum that handles my floors just fine.
