We purchased this gate for the end of our hallway to keep our one and a half year old out of the bedrooms and bathrooms after he decided to start throwing everything down the laundry chute and in the toilet.  Because we knew this was just a phase, we didn't want the wall mount gates, so we looked for the pressure mounted.  This was the best deal we found.  Simple design and to open the gate, you press a button and then push down on the handle.  Complicated enough that my one and half year old cannot open it, but simple enough that my four year old can.  The button pressing and handle pushing can be a little difficult.  My mom who has arthritis in her hands has a difficult time opening it.  Also, if you push down before you press the button, it won't open.  But the biggest obstacle we had was installing the gate.  It's a very simple installation - unscrew the end knobs, place against wall and tighten the knobs.  The gate expands from 29" to 33.5" and also includes a small 6" extension.  And you only use the extension if the space is bigger than 33".   My problem was that my hallway was over 33" for the top of the gate, but because of my baseboard, I was under 33" for the bottom of the gate.  What we ended up doing was using the extension and then leaving one of the knobs off of one side of the bottom.  It ended up fitting perfectly.
