Very unsafe

1

I bought this to replace an old tea kettle that finally died on me. I liked the way it looked and thought it would compliment the rest of my appliances perfectly. I also thought the big handle would help to make pouring easily. I was very disappointed with it when I used it. It boils water great... if you do not mind having steaming hot water hitting your hand as the steam comes up and lands on the handle of it. It is a horrible design destined for burns on yours and your family members hands. I cannot believe they would put this product on the market the way it works because its a disaster waiting to happen. I ended up getting rid of it after just a few uses, because I was worried about accidental burns from the piping hot steam that flows directly to the handle no matter how you have it tilted. Very disappointed. What a waste of money! Performance It boils water but at the cost of your safety! Safety Horrible. Absolutely horrible! The steam from this tea pot will roll right over your hands! Ease of Cleaning cleans easily enough Durability I have no clue I threw it away after a few uses because of the hazard of burns. Design I have never had the misfortune of dealing with a tea pot as horrid in design as this product.

Easy to use

I got this teapot because we were sick of heating water in the microwave, and this works really well for multiple cups of hot chocolate, tea, and instant coffee. It whistles pretty loudly but it isn't even necessary for it to get that hot for the water to be warm enough for tea. It's easy to clean and store right on the range of the stove top.

Good Price and Performs Well

5

My boyfriend is an avid tea drinker, especially in the winter. For a long time we didn't have a tea kettle, we just boiled water on the stove and he sloshed it into his tea cup. So for Christmas I did a lot of research to find the perfect tea kettle for him. Le Crueset had the best reviews, but the price was outstanding for a tea kettle. Revere had great reviews, but I didn't like that the only option you had for an opening was too small to get in there to clean. I know it contains hot, boiling water, but I still wanted to be able to look in there and clean it out if I needed to. Another feature I was set on was to find a tea kettle without a teflon coating on the inside. That stuff is toxic! So I settled on the Faberware. It was affordable, all stainless-steel, and had a large opening. We've had this tea kettle for 2-3 years now, and it has gotten a ton of use, yet it still looks brand new. We have a turbo-boil on our stove top that gets very hot, and this kettle works with that burner just fine. It's whistle is loud and clear, haha.

Not My Cup of Tea

3

We had this tea kettle some time ago, it needed to be replace because of discoloration. Frankly though, compared to other teapots, it could be better but it served it's main purpose. It made tea. Overall just not my cup of tea. Performance It boils water as it should, it takes much longer than the teapot we currently have. On a side note I also believe for whatever the whistle takes longer than it should to whistle because by the time I could hear it a lot of steam has produced and the water is ridiculously hot. Safety As I mentioned above sometimes the water got ridiculously hot, as did the handle. Most of the time I wouldn't even bother picking it up, just turned the stove off and let it cool down. Another thing I should note is if the teapot is filled with water do not tip it too early because the water gets so hot. Ease of Cleaning Cleaning this was easy enough but it just never seemed clean enough because it rusted faster than I feel it should have. Design The design is simple, cute even.

A pretty tea kettle that never gets used.

I bought this tea kettle for an amazing price, and thought I was getting a good deal! It looked attractive, the top was wide enough to get a nice soapy dish rag inside to clean it thoroughly, and it's made from stainless steel - should be very durable and blend in well with the kitchen. I also liked the curve of the handle - easy to grip without detracting for the aesthetics. While the cleaning aspect did live up to expectations, I hardly use this kettle... It just sits on top of the stove collecting dust. It's hard to tell when the water is getting hot until it's too hot to drink.. and that time takes SO LONG! Honestly, it's much faster to microwave water in a cup then to sit and wait for this thing to work. With the extra energy spent heating the stove and kettle, I don't think I'm saving any energy by using this over the microwave. The bottom of the kettle is also starting to discolor, which is aggravating considering how little I've used it.

Tea For Too Much Trouble

2

We really disliked this teapot and ended up replacing it after one month. We burnt up our old teapot and needed a replacement and this seemed like a good model, until we took it home. It boils water but we think it is unsafe because it allows steam to leak onto the handle and the lever to open the spout which gets it hot to the touch, which could burn your hand or cause you to drop the kettle causing hot water and hot metal burns all over your body. Performance Well, it boils water... Safety the steam gets on your hand when you are trying to pour it and the lever to open the spout gets hot. The spout sticks in an upright open position sometimes and we fill our kettle by the spout, so if you are not careful, you could end up putting it on the stove with the spout open so it would never whistle and you could end up burning up the tea pot because it won't whistle and the water boils away. Design again the problem with the lever to open the spout and the way the spout sticks in an upright position

I Just Don't Like This Teakettle. Too Many Frustrations

2

My family loves tea. We have gone through many different teakettles over the years, and Farberware is one of them. Although I might have settled with it some years ago, after trying many other types of teakettles, I have to say that this is not one of my favorites. Performance I don't like the way that this teakettle works. The lid does not fit on well, and it is hard to get on right- I got very frustrated with this pot . Also, it does heat up well, but I just didn't like the way it poured out of the spout either- it always seemed to drip or splatter out. Safety I don't like the way the lid fits- it is unstable. The handle got hot for me too, and the steam from the cap came up onto my hand. I also found that the water spilled easily when trying to pour, and that made it easy to pour boiling water on places I don't want to! Ease of Cleaning I can't stand this teakettle. It is hard to clean, and the inside gets all caked up with mineral deposits. I find I have to scrub it a lot harder than the glass teakettle that we use all of the time now. Durability It is okay, but I don't like this lid. The way that you get the spout lid to come up is kind of icky too. I just don't think it is that nicely made. Design I don't like this teakettle. The metal flavor to the water makes tea not taste that nice- I prefer my clear glass teakettle. The lid does not fit well and I don't like having to mess with it. The lever like thing you press to raise the spout cover is inconvenient for me and sometimes causes me to get burned.
