A great toy for kids to learn on!

4

I got the Fisher-Price Computer Cool School years ago for my son as a gift. I wasn't sure how it would work, but I checked the reviews and it had received high ratings. I found that it was a pretty good educational toy for my son. It had a lot to do on it ranging from math, writing, music, science and art. I liked that he could trace his letters on the attached writing pad thing. The pen and keys work well. It was a neat program and he asked to use it many times before I said anything. I would watch him play it and he was having a good time. It is pretty easy to set up on a computer and there are multiple games for purchase for this. It should come with a game included. I didn't find that I had to explain much to my son on how to play it. He pretty much picked it up as he went along. It can get a little pricey depending on where you get it, but it really isn't a bad deal. The graphics are pretty good and its nice to know that your kids are learning and enjoying themselves.

Best toy I've invested for my two year old! Taught him so much!!

This has to be one of the best toys I have invested in. The Fisher Price Computer Cool School has taught my 2 year old son everything from basic use of a computer to how to write his letter. The price point is excellent and the quality is great too....it can take a few toddler drops ;) It easily plugs into your USB hub and can easily unplug. Favorite feature is once the CD's have been downloaded you no longer need the CD's. I gave them to the grandparents to download and now for sleepovers I just need to hand them the key board and my son can play all the games there. Only down fall....Elmo and Leo's Dinosaur Adventure were discontinued with no warning...however I believe so much in the game....I bought them off ebay!

Fisher Price Cool School is a hit with our house.

Fisher Price Cool School (Fun2Learn) Computer System was a gift for my son when he was three. He is now almost five and is still using it on a weekly, sometimes daily, basis. What we like about the Fisher Price Cool School system is the fact that the kids can turn it on, maneuver through the selections and start the different educational programs without assistance from an adult. This has given our son quite a bit of confidence since he can "do it by himself" without asking for help. We keep it set up in the kitchen on a small desk and the kids will go over and start playing on it any time they want. Although it appears like they are playing, we as parents know that every step of the way they are learning. There are a few different disks you can buy for it that offer a selection of educational tasks/games but there is not a huge amount to choose from. I feel that if our children have been happy with the few disks we bought then it must be entertaining because it has carried us through nearly 2 years. Great gift!

Computer Cool School gets an A+ in my Gradebook

My parents bought my daughter Computer Cool School for her 2nd birthday.  She is now 5.  This is the most durable toy in our house.  She absolutely loves it...as well as her 2 year old brother.  When my mom bought it, the store was clearancing it out so she got it for a great price.  Since it was on clearance, I was afraid that the games would become difficult to find, so my mom and I began quite a scavenger hunt to get all of the games.  After one long day, we ended up with every game that was made.  For our family, the time was totally worth it.  We have gotten countless hours of use out of this item.  I honestly feel like my kids have learned from playing with the Computer Cool School.  As a teacher, this is very important to me.  As a parent, I am amazed that this toy has kept the interest of my kids for so long.  Even after playing with it for 3 years, my daughter still calls me into the room to check out something on  her Computer Cool School.  I also like that they can be on the computer and that it won't allow them off of the device and onto other things.  That type of safety is important to me.

The computer cool school makes learning fun!

Anyone with a young child knows just how much their children want to be able to use the "big" computer like mommy and daddy... and now, with the Fisher Price Fun2Learn Computer Cool School, they can! We purchased this computer for our 3.5 year old daughter for Christmas, and despite all of the other fabulous, non-educational toys that she received, this one was a huge hit! The Fun2Learn computer is simply a keyboard that attaches to your computer by a USB cord. Download the accomodating software, and your child is ready to learn! When this program is operating, it takes over your entire computer screen, so there aren't any "ESC" or other buttons that your little one may accidentally hit, taking them away from the game (like many children's online games). It is also extremely user-friendly - push one of 5 buttons on the top of the keyboard to choose between letters, numbers, art, music, and science. My biggest complaint about this computer (deeming it only 4 stars) is that there is additional computer software available for purchase to use with this computer, which is fine, however, you can see the other options when you log-on (even though you obviously cannot use them without the extra software). This can be a huge disappointment for you little one when they see Dora, or Clifford, etc., but are not able to play those games.

My husband and I are always looking for educational toys that will last more than a few months. Our son loves to be on the computer and to watch TV. The Fisher-Price Fun2Learn Computer Cool School was the answer! The box says for ages 3-5, and our son is 1 1/2, but he still loves playing with this while mommy and daddy are doing their work. The different programs teach so much - reading, writing, math, science, social studies, music, and art. Our son loves the science and art modules the best right now. We love that we can go online and order different games as we need and that they are stored on the computer, so we don't have to mess with CD's everytime he wants to play. The Fisher-Price Fun2Learn Computer Cool School runs easily and our son needs very little assistance to work the game. The art module let's you color, right, stamp, and when you are done, kids can print it out and hang it as part of their art collection. Their are many more features that the game has to offer, but since we haven't played them yet, I'm not sure how they work. All in all, the Fisher-Price Fun2Learn Computer Cool School is a must have in our book!

Son still enjoying this three years later...

I purchased this Fisher-Price Computer Cool School for my (then) 2 year old son for Christmas.  It was something he saw a commercial for on TV and was the only thing he wanted for Christmas that year, so was obviously very excited when he opened the present.  He is now 5 years old, and STILL loves playing with it!  At the age of two, he learned how to draw his letters and still enjoys drawing the letters, but now he does not have to use the alphabet cards that came with the computer.  His favorite thing to do on this computer is the drawing/coloring option.  I honestly have never had to sit down with him and explain or teach him how to use it, it is just that simple for even a 2 year old to figure out.  We also never hooked up a printer to his computer, but there is an option to print the pictures kids create on it...I'm a little sad we never had that option.  And even though we have bought him about four new games for it since he first got it (I love that they still make games for it, using current characters that kids like), he still enjoys the original game that came with the computer.  It was well worth every penny we spent on it!

Excellent for your preschooler!!

We purchased this for our 4-year-old daughter and she absolutely loves it.  She has had very limited exposure to computers in the past but had no difficulty in mastering the various applications.  Not only is the functionality easy and practical, the variety of learning tools is great too:  your child will have fun practicing writing letters and numbers, learning simple math equations, discovering animal habitats, and playing various musical instruments - as well as sketching and printing her artistic masterpieces.  The accompanying sounds make the interactive experience fun.  We enjoy watching her learn skills that support what she is being taught in preschool.  The price is quite reasonable and there are lots of great learning modules which can be added:  scooby doo, sponge bob, dora the explorer - the list goes on and on.  If you want to give your child something entertaining and educational, this would fit the bill!

My 4-year-old LOVES Computer Cool School!

4

We purchased the Fisher-Price Fun2Learn Computer Cool School last year with credit card reward points for my then 3-year-old daughter. She loved to play the games, especially the art ones. It got put into a tote after our computer got a virus (not because of this game), and we had to clean the harddrive and couldn't find the software to put the game back on the computer. It was forgotten about, but we came across the software when we got a new computer desk, and then when we were cleaning out toys for Christmas this year, we came across the keyboard. She was so excited to see it again! We plugged it in and she started playing it, and even my 2-year-old can play it with assitance. I love that it's educational and fun. I wish the software that came with the keyboard was available as a free download from their website. All of the other games are kind of expensive, too, but she doesn't seem to mind playing the one game too much. I also wish you could plug it into a TV or something instead of the computer, since when she's on it, I can't be!

My 4 year old nephew is a very active boy, but can sit in front of this game for hours.  He Loves playing and drawing on his cool school. This is helping him learn his letter recogniton, his numbers, and even has him adding.  He really likes to draw and they type in his name or his message.  the traceing area allows him to learn how to write his letters, one of his favorite things is to ask me how to spell a word, and then he gets to look for the letter keys on the keyboard to spell it out.  He has impressed many with all that he is able to do ALL BY HIMSELF on this game.  It's very easy to use and combines learning in such a fun way.  At his recent school conference they recommended activities that focused on his fine motor skills since he has not decieded if he is left or right handed yet.  This game is encouraging that and giving him plenty of practice for school.  This is the first thing he asks for when he goes to grandmas
