Won't stay together but cute anyhow

3

I purchased this a few years back and just got rid of all of the pieces the other day. They DO last! My set back for buying this again would be the fact it's all put together with velcro. I understand the purpose, as it lets the baby pull things off of the arch and play with them. But after awhile the pieces will not stick to the velcro anymore, leaving you with nothing hanging. The hanging fishy has noise makers inside, which is a nice touch. The mirror is always fun for babies and the other fishy has a crinkly sound to it when squeezed. The 2 arches are put into the holes of the frame. They stay pretty well until the child gets a bit larger and rolls. One roll into an arch and they come undone. I noticed after a few months of owning this, it was never together again. For the price though (which is fairly cheap) you get several separate pieces that are entertaining for a child, even until a later age. The pieces are stimulating and teach them hand-eye coordination when they are a bit older and can attach the pieces themselves.

A new touch to the playmats for the babies!

My son absoultely loved this play mat. I got it as a gift and like the million of other things I took it out of the box and did not bother to read the instructions as to how to put it together. I but it together without a problem but I missed a very important part when I threw the instructions away! This play mat is not just a play mat but it turns in to a tunnel so the crawlers can crawl through it and play in it. It is a very small tunnel but what is small to us adults is big to the children. It came with 3 toys on it and one in which was a inflatable ball with a plastic ball in it and this ball actually became my sons favorite toy. Now the ball is detached from this play mat and my son is 10 months old and will still grab that ball and shake it to hear the noise of the ball going side to side. It is very easy to detach and reattach the toys too. I did have to look up instructions on how to put the tunnel together but only because I never knew of another play mat do it. It is well worth what you pay for it!

Great first toy for baby

This is a great toy for those early days when your baby can't really "do" many things or really play yet. I remember in the beginning sometimes the day would seem so long because I didn't know how to entertain my daughter all day. My sister had gotten me this toy but I hadn't gotten it out because to me it looked rather boring. Then a friend said that her son had one and that he loved it. I got ours out and set it up and lo and behold Meadow loved it! I felt bad I hadn't gotten it out sooner. It was great for teaching her how to use her hands. It first she couldn't even hit the little things hanging down, but she kept working at it and eventually she actually ended up with really great coordination skills. When she got a little bit older and liked to sit up, we would sit her in her bumbo chair and she would still play with this toy. Then, the best part is that once she started crawling it can be converted into a tunnel that the baby can crawl through. She really enjoyed crawling through it and it was nice to have a toy that accommodates to your baby's changing needs as they grow.

fisher price gym entertaining for infants!

My daughter received this as a gift when she was born.  It is a padded mat which has two arches which attatch to it.  Three toys hang from the one, and a ball hangs from the other.  The baby can  play with the toys on the one arch while kicking the ball with their feet on the other arch.  My daughter used this from about the time she was one month old, until she was about 5 months.  After that, she would try to roll and get frusterated because she would get caught up in the arches.   She was able to kick the ball with her feet at only a couple months, and really seemed to enjoy that aspect of it.  The toys are designed to detach from the arches and attatch to the mat for tummy time, which my daughter got bored really fast with.  Also, it's designed to convert to a tunnel with the mat over the arches for baby to crawl through.  My daughter is not yet crawling, and we have put this gym away for the time being, so we have not used this aspect of it yet.  I don't know if it would have very much entertainment value used as tunnel, I could see a baby getting bored really fast with that also.  One thing I didn't like about this one as compared to others is this does not quickly fold up and store in a bag, like the one I had used before. This product seems very durable.  It was really nice to have for a few months, but like most gyms, babies seem to outgrow them fast.  If you are getting an activity gym, I would recommed this one.

You get what you pay for

This play gym was just ok...These things are normally expensive but this was was very reasonably priced. I really didn't want to spend loads of money on a play gym because my son was almost to big to really enjoy on but I still wanted him to have one. This product was as good as the amount of money I spent. My son literally only used it a couple of times and only for 5-10 minutes at a time before he got bored...he was not interested in the blow up ball that the feet at all so I just removed it so that I could use the pad as a changing pad so that he could play while I changed his diaper. I have not swapped it to the crawling tunnel yet but I don't see that being much success either being that it will be a very small tunnel and I can see my son getting very bored with it very quickly. I say that if you want a play gym for just a small amount of time like I did then go ahead and spend the extra money anyway so at least your child will enjoy it the time that he/she has to play with it.

Kick and Crawl Gym grows with babies

5

The Ocean Wonders Kick and Crawl Gym was a great toy for my baby girls. Its an activity gym that has a mat that lays on the floor and the baby lays on top. It really grows with babies as well, there are 3 different activities that it changes into. It has toys that attach to the mat for tummy time. It has two arches that hold toys, like a mirror and a clear ball with little noise makers inside. The baby can grasp the toys, reach for them, or kick them. Since the two arches are spread apart they can kick one and play with the other all at the same time. When baby gets bigger and starts to crawl, the toys can be removed and the mat goes over the arches to turn it into a little tunnel to crawl through. Since the mat is removable from the rest of the toy, its really easy to clean, you can just throw it in the washing machine. Really keeps babies interest, especially when they are young while still helping them learn how to make things work.
