really great if you don't need all the bells and whistles

we bought this when we were expecting our first child. We were on a budget and got this because we couldn't afford the more expensive monitors out there. That child is now 4, and we have another 2 year old, and the monitor is still going strong. It works perfectly. And who need a video anyway, when your baby cries, go into its room and comfort it, don't watch it on a video!

Great monitors

5

This monitor has been the monitors that my husband and I have used for almost 2 years without any issues. They have a great light feature that you can use to turn the volume off and still see from accross the house that the baby is making noise. I also love the fact that reciever in my daughters room lights up bright enough but not too bright to be used as a night light for her. We are also able to move the parents monitors into our base ment which is farther than the range suggests on the product and we have no issues with it. You can also hook these to your belt around the house while doing how work, they run on batteries during this time and they will run off the batteriers for at least 2 days for us at full use. These monitors are very clear and easily heard. We have not had ut one instance of interferance and it seemed to be picking up a radio station which means it has good range on it. And the interference did not affect it's ability to pick up when ny children were making noises. It will even pick up movement if the movement is loud enough, this was great beacause I could get to my children before they started to cry. We have 2 children and these monitors have had antenas chewed on before and carried around and dropped by a toddler and they work like a champ. We have had absolutely no issues with these monitors.

Fisher-Price Sounds 'n Lights Baby Monitors - Good Buy

5

We have had the Fisher-Price Sounds 'n Lights Baby Monitors with Dual Receivers for several years now, and they are still working just as well as they were when we first set them up with our newborn. The lights on the receivers are a nice feature, since they light up with greater intensity the louder the sound is. It might seem like you don't need both sound and lights, but it actually comes in pretty handy, especially if there is background noise in the room you are listening from. Just a glance at the receiver can tell you if the baby is awake. Another nice feature is the night light on top of the monitor. This is great for a baby or child's room, especially since you can just press it to turn it on or off. The dual receivers have been my favorite part about this product. Instead of having to move the one receiver back and forth from the bedroom (where you use it at night) to the kitchen or living room (where you need it during the day), you can just leave both monitors in their places all the time. Having two monitors that you can keep where you need them is just one less thing to do each day, which I have really appreciated. I have noticed that if you plug something like a cell phone charger in near the receiver it can create static. Moving either item alleviates the issue though, so I don't see this as very inconvenient. After two years of use, I'd definitely recommend these monitors to anyone.

Good for the Money

We have had this baby monitor for 5 years, and used it for about 4. It works well. The nightlight on the base is great, it is so handy to have in the kids' room for midnight wake-ups. While this product unfortunately picks up Radio Disney when the receivers are in certain parts of my house, I can't complain. I do wish that it would help my daughter (now 18 months) sleep all night, but it isn't magic. My son likes to try to talk to us through the receivers, so it does double as a toy once the kids are out of the baby stage.

So so performance is definitely not worth the money.

I purchased this monitor on clearance and it wasn't even worth what I payed at 50% off. There was quite a bit of static and it would randomly stop receiving signal so I had to jump up and move it! The alarm for the lost signal was so loud, that I worried it would wake my sleeping daughter upstairs. This wouldn't have been a problem had it not gone off every ten seconds! When the monitor did work, the sound quality was very poor. Mostly annoying loud pops and crackles. The unit is 900mHz which hasn't been a problem for me in the past. The only Pro's for this monitor are the night light function on the transmitter, which I liked when changing diapers at night, the portability and battery life of the units, and the lights on the receivers. I must admit that I would only recommend this monitor to a parent or caregiver who was deaf or hard of hearing as they would likely not be bothered by the poor sound quality and the alarm lights are large, move from green to red, and can be seen from either side of the monitor. Bottom line, this monitor should be retooled and marketed as a lights only, instead of lights and sounds!

We received the Fisher Price Sounds n' Light Monitor for a baby gift in August of 2006. We are on our second set of hand held receivers but love the product. We live in a two story house so we really needed something long lasting and reliable. You can hear every noise and breath they make which is and was important to me. I also liked that the monitor had a light on so we could use it as a night light too. We ended up buying rechargeable batteries for the handset as it goes through batteries pretty quickly. It does have the capability to plug it in, but it seems I never have a plug in handy! The only problem we have had with it is it has only 2 frequency's and once in awhile we can pick up the neighbor's baby monitors too. For the price of the monitor I think it is a good deal and it has lasted many more months than I thought it would. we would most likely buy it again as seeing my baby sleep is not that important to me.

Fisher-Price monitors with night light

4

The Fisher-Price monitor was a gift. I didn't find anything wrong with the item. I think they were light weight, the sound was very clear and I love how it comes with a night light. They are even heavy duty, my 1 1/2 year old has grabbed the receiver and thrown it. I have to admit it hasn't broke yet. (thank goodness!) So I have no problems I love this product.

Well, I was going to rate these really well until I read some of the other reviews that brought some things back to my mind that I didn't like about them. One thing is the frequencies mine would pick up. We have a small house and the nursery is right next to our room so I really don't need monitors, but I always use them in the night when my babies are first sleeping in their own room. Sometimes I would hear music on it like it was picking up a radio station, and one time it was almost like voices and really freaked me out! Needless to say, I don't use them at night anymore! Other than that I think they work great. I don't think they use a lot of batteries, but I don't use them all the time either. It's nice to have the cords for them if you need them. Also, there are 2 monitors so if one is low on batteries you can just grab the other one and go. The base is lightweight and the cord pulls it down so I had to just keep it under the crib. Overall, I think these are okay monitors. I really wanted a video monitor but didn't want to pay for it!

fisher price has a great baby monitor

5

I purchased and used this fisher price lights and sounds baby monitor with dual recievers when my child was just born and I still use this baby monitor and I have been very satisfied with this product. I like the fact that the baby monitor base has a light on it and we use it as a night light in our childrens bedroom also. It also works great a far as the monitoring part goes. I am able to hear my baby fussing or evening coughing or evening when she is moving around a lot in her bed. It gives me peace of mind that I can be in a different room but still hear what is going on in her room. I can even hear the not so loud noises like her moving around in the bed a lot which makes me feel good so I can know maybe she needs something shes not that comfortable while shes sleeping and I can go in her bedroom and see what she needs. This monitor of course works perfect when your baby is crying how could it not pick up that noise right. I have been very satisfied with this product it works great and is just what I wanted.

Sounds + Lights= AWESOME!

I talked to my best friend when I was pregnant and got lots of baby advice from her. She had 3 kids already, so she knew what products worked and what ones to stay away from. When we talked about moniters, so told me the Fisher-Price Lights and Sounds Baby Monitor was the BEST! I took her word for it, and added it to my registry right away. Once the little man joined us, we used this monitor daily. Our house is not large by any means, but it is kind of funny shaped, and we found out quickly we couldn't hear our guy if we were sleeping in our room. The thing I really like about this monitor is that it has the lights and sound. You see it lights up when the baby is crying. Most of the time you don't need both things, but it came in super handy when we were working on him sleeping in his crib through the night. We used the "Baby Wise" way and let him cry it out. This was horrible and so hard to do, but it worked! And it worked really quickly. The monitor came in handy because I could turn the volume way down and it would light up when he was crying. That way I could watch it to see what was happening. It is also super nice because you can plug it in or use batteries. It is nice and comes with two recievers so you can easily take it anywhere with you!
