This Refrigerator looks great but has a knock when the ice make cycle. It is like a hammer hitting the side of the box and GE said this is normal. I cannot believe this and it came from the factory this way. I would not recommend nor will I purchase any other produce from GE. I purchase a complete kitchen and sorry I did. If this is customer service, they need to go back and revise..... I would be interested in see if anyone else has this problem or are they lying to me....

The fridge is extremely good looking and is also quite spacious. Lots of storage inside for your foods and it keeps them fresh and tasty till you use them. Noise Level it does make some weird noises here and there. Usually, the ice make running or dropping ice. Otherwise, it's quite. Interior Organization It has lots of space inside and the doors alike. You will never ran out of storage with this fridge. Ease of Cleaning It should not be a problem. Just remove the shelves and other interior parts and clean the fridge with some soda water. Durability The fridge looks strong from the outset. It's durable and strong enough to last for 5-6 years at least without much problem. Design It looks quite modern yet classy in design and whether you have small or large kitchen, it will easily fit into your kitchen.

I really believe I couldn't have made a better choice in a fridge! The storage space in this is incredible. You can fit so much on the shelf part in it. Also the shelves on the doors are very good, too. they hold a lot more than you would think. The drawers are easily removed for easy cleaning, as is the bigger shelving inside. The freezer is deep and holds so much! The temp stays what you set it on with no problems. The ice/water setting on the door has worked since I bought with no problems and the water is always cold and yummy! Noise Level The noise level is not bad at all! you really don't hear it, except when the ice falls into the ice holder/tray. It doesn't make noises when you open the refrigerator doors, even if they are left open for a while. Neither does the freezer. The ice/water doesn't make noise (excepting of course the ice plopping into the cup!) Interior Organization The shelves on the doors are spaced just right, but they even have notches where you can move them up or down, which also helps with cleaning. The interior shelves are spaced far apart, also with the option to move, and this makes it so much easier to fit things into it. Temperature Control I have had no trouble at all with the temperature control. I keep checking the degrees, thinking it will go down, but i've had it six months and I haven't had to adjust the temp. once. the food in the freezer is always frozen correctly and stays good. The water is always cold and there are always plenty of ice cubes in the tray. Ease of Cleaning The freezer cleans easy and I haven't had any trouble with ice buildup or stains. Everything that spills wipes away easily. The refrigerator washes very easily and doesn't leave streaks or buildup anywhere. the drawers and shelves come out so that also helps when cleaning. Durability The inside of this refrigerator is very durable. The drawers are a hard, thicker plastic, which is good. The shelves are hard, thick glass, which is also good and helps with durability. The freezer drawer and compartment are securely placed. The outside of the fridge is chrome and is however a little hard to keep from being scratches as I cats who tend to jump on the top of it. But as long s you clean it right and clean regularly, it is very good. Design It is a semi-tall fridge but I believe if you have the room in your kitchen area, it is just the right size for a family. It isn't too big, where it looks bulky but it isn't small where it looks funny, either. The chrome is very pretty and shines up nice.

The ice maker and water dispenser on the refridgerator are very useful since I don't have an ice cube tray. It's very convienient even if you don't have an ice tray because all you have to do is press a button instead of break out ice from an ice cube tray. Noise Level The ice maker is loud.

The look of this refrigerator is really great, however the freezer unit is small and especially the vegtable & fruit drawers. The first refrigerator delivered did not work and was replaced with a new unit that is working great. The indoor beverage dispenser is easy to clean and sleek.Our first unit's cooling system broken within 3 weeks. We had someone come to repair it 3 times and are now replacing it with a new unit from the vendor. The look is fantastic but the LCD display is different than what we expected. It was not clear from the description that the counter-depth version had limited LCD features and no USB plug port while only the full-sized version had these features. We are hoping for a properly working unit once this one is replaced. it was good to use but dont want to buy it again. as i am actually fed up by this. it was quite stylish but need to work on it maintence as well.

We recently remodeled our kitchen and stocked the whole room with GE products: microwave, dishwasher, oven, and this refrigerator! What first attracted us to this particular fridge was the look, the stainless steel finish is beautiful and clean looking. We centered the rest of the appliances around the finish of this appliance, so all the others match similarly in stainless steel. I have a house full of boys so it is definitely convenient to have such a large freezer space. The drawers are deep and are easily accessible for all. The little one can even "help" me but getting out frozen items for dinner! Inside the large base drawer are two separate drawers each with separate areas for ultimate organization. There is also an ice box so we have backup in case the older boys have friends over and need extra. The ice machine has different options for several types of ice cubes available as well as an added cold water dispenser which is nice as well. The refrigerator portion is equally convenient as the shelves are removable so we can change the structure of the fridge based on the purchases of the week. Since they are easily removed cleaning is a breeze, no more mildew in the fridge for us! I personally like the bright lights and clear, glass shelves in this portion although the boys don't seem to care. I think they make the unit seem more open and appealing to the eye. The temperature control is very accessible and responds very quickly! There are a few drawers as well and each one has dividers to keep specific things separate if need be. The drawers are deep enough to store many things without being over crowded. We like to have one for my fruits and vegetables, and another for the boy's pudding, granola bars and this way they don't have to sift through my healthy things to get to the fun things. We go through an obsessive amount of milk in this house, I prefer almond milk, the twelve year old is lactose intolerant, and the other two boys prefer the classic 2% variety. The unit is large enough to have all kinds of beverage without burying anyone's beverage behind the other. There is a cut out on one of the shelves to put the smaller cartons and also room in one of the doors where we put two full gallons. Easy access is extremely important in this house! Other aspects we love about the shelving in the door are the full half barriers, I always hated it when the walls don't go all the way down and smaller bottles/cans fall down and out of the bottom. With this fridge we don't have to worry about things falling out. I also e=really like that these walls are clear for the same reasons above, looking clean and making the fridge look more open and user friendly. The double door are very convenient in viewing in the fridge, more light being able to enter means better visibility. Another aspect that originally I was not a fan of but has grown on me is the warning that a door is open. If the unit is left open for longer than thirty seconds it beeps at you, it has been great for conserving electricity!

Currently in my home I have the GE Bottom Freezer Freestanding Refrigerator item Number SP5RKBSS in the color white. This refrigerator was actually the one that came with the home that we recently bought. It is very nice and easy to fit items into. Previous to the refrigerator I have had bothe the kinds with the refrigerator on the top and fridge on the bottom, a traditional one, and at my parents home I have experienced the side by side refrigerator and freezer. I must say by far out of all three types the FE bottom freezer and freestanding refrigerator is my favorite! The side by side refrigerator freezer both my parents and I always had difficulties getting certain products from the grocery store to fit especially while still in their original boxes such as pizzas. In the GE Bottom Freezer and Freestanding Fridge you never have to worry about that the shelving runs the entire length of the fridge. Another nice feature about this fridge is all of the electronic upgrades from a typical fridge. It contains an alarm, so if a door is left open even a little bit it will sound after so many seconds. This makes it nice because you never have to worry about your food going bad if one of your children accidentally leaves the door open or does not shut it all of the way. This model does however have some some advantages and a few disadvantages. The advantages: The shelves are designed to contain spills (yes, I've had this happen. It's ugly when you have to wipe out spilled milk or soup.) There is a half-height deli drawer for cheese or cold meats. There are two vegetable drawers, adjusted to keep vegetables at the proper humidity. The freezer has a top basket that slides, so you can put frequently-used items or flat items on top (like chicken breasts and chicken thighs, in my case, pretty much my staple food.) The bottom is deep enough for whole poultry or containers of frozen soups. You can change the height of the door bins, so that if you need space for more tall bottles or cartons, you have it. Disadvantages: Though you get a wider freezer than a side-by-side, you have to bend down to riffle through the freezer. It is not at eye-level height when standing. No door water dispenser or ice. Ice maker in the freezer section only. Note the depth of the unit is 33 3/8" with handle sticking out. And the width is 32 5/8th. Some people have discovered that OLDER kitchens have cabinet and counter depths that are too shallow for some newer models of refrigerators. You need to measure. Also note that this unit is not as inexpensive as some side-by-side models with water and ice dispenser in the door, which surprised me. This unit is just shy of 22 cubic feet capacity and the side-by-side is actually less, and has 25 cubic feet. It is tier-1 Energy Efficient, and chances are, more efficient than a decade or older unit you may own, saving you on electricity. This unit will will make approximately 3.9 lbs of ice per day. Ice production is dependent on freezer temperatures, which are affected by the temperature control settings, door openings, and food load. More food in the freezer will keep, the temperatures more stable which will help the icemaker perform more efficiently. The frozen packages act as insulators to keep the cold air in. GE recommends that the freezer be kept three-fourths full for optimal operation. If necessary, use plastic jugs filled two-thirds with water to increase the freezer load to three-fourths of its volume. If this is a new installation, the icemaker will not start immediately after being plugged in. The icemaker must reach a temperature of approximately 16 degrees F. before a cycle is initiated. Please allow up to 24 hours for the icemaker to begin cycling. One complaint however is that the This is the 2nd unit I had delivered. 1st refrigerator did not have condenser fan plugged in. Then Tech said it needs a new fan. A new fan was connected and after 24 hours temp in freezer and refrigerator rose and all my food had to be thrown out. I have refrigerator number 2 now for 48 hours, it is keeping cold, but never stops running and is so loud you can hear it from another room. I will wait another day then call GE to have a Tech. come out. These Refrigerators are assembled in Louisville, KY. which I was very happy to hear until I owned one. My last GE frig which I sold was 11 years old and ran quiet and kept all my food cold. My wife wanted stainless steel, not sleepless nights for a noisy refrigerator.I chose this refridgerator over a Samsung for a few reasons. This is our 1st refridgerator purchase in 20 years of marriage so I was a little overwhelmed with choices. Wanted to upgrade our kitchen to Stainless. We always purchased houses which included a refridgerators. We went from side by sides which we have had in our last 3 homes so I was nervous about the design and function differences. I picked this fridge due to the fact that the icemaker is in the door and not taking up room in the fridge area like most of the french door fridges I looked at. I didn't like to see the ice maker in the fridge are at all. The ice makers that are in the doors are small in all makes and models I looked at so I chose this particular model because it has a 2nd ice maker in the freezer to accomodate our family of 7 plus guests. This model is beautiful to look at and instantly updated our kitchen with a more modern feel. It has a LOT more room than the side by sides! You can see all of your food and spread it out so it isn't crammed in a small square on each shelf like side by sides. The lighting is very bright. The ice and water dispenser is great! It doesn't fly all over the floor like some of my friends' fancy stainless fridges. It does show some fingerprints but not nearly as bad as many I touched. I purposefully rubbed my fingers and hands on it in the store to check since we have 5 children 13 and under. I also purchased a stainless GE microwave and toaster to match. I am going to purchase a GE dishwasher in the next 6 months to complete the new look in our kitchen. I also feel good about purchasing American made products.I love, love, LOVE this fridge! I've had it for 3 years now and have never had a single problem with it. When I purchased it, I had a very specific list of "needs" for a refrigerator for in our new home. Due to the way our kitchen is configured, it really needed to be counter-depth. I wanted it to be stainless on the sides as well as the front, and I really wanted the bottom freezer. Honestly the GE Cafe was the only fridge I found that met all of those requirements. The downsides (in my opinion) were that it cost about twice what I had planned on paying, and it is not an Energy Star appliance. I was slightly concerned about it not having enough space, due to being counter-depth, but I have been very pleasantly surprised at how spacious it really is inside! Almost all of the shelves move around easily to accommodate just about anything you need to store. There is even room to put a large pizza (or 2! box and all!) on the bottom shelf. And the freezer is just as roomy with multiple drawers/baskets on the inside. And I love that the water dispenser is on the inside of the fridge--it takes up no room at all and is so convenient. So the refrigerator in general is extremely functional, and on top of that, it's an absolute beauty to look at. It's the shining star of my kitchen for sure!We purchased both the GE Cafe refrigerator and dual fuel range. Loved the appearance and features. Both appliances were installed end of August 2011. February 2012 the compressor on the refrigerator went bad and I lost a full refrigerator and freezer full of food! Not something I think is acceptable for an appliance that is in use for less than 6 months. I was without a refrigerator and freezer for almost a week and while GE covered the repairs, I am financially out the cost of the food, as well I am now worried about the future long term reliability of this unit. We had a 17 year old 26 Cu Ft. Side by Side and several small things needed repair....I was waiting to redo the kitchen, but when my oven door broke, we bought this refrigerator to match. We go to the Farmer's Market every 2 wks and this refrigerator gives enough room to view all the fresh fruits and vegetables so we don't have to "hunt" for items making it easier to cook. The freezer is huge! The enclosed bins prevents food from "dripping" to the bottom of the freezer before it is frozen. I anticipate getting many years of use... BTW, the delivery man said if the water still drips, there is air in the line and I should dispense a third gallon of water to clear the lines and to toss the first batch of ice. I also turned off the ice maker initially to turbo cool/freeze....

We love our new GE french door fridge! The ice maker/water dispenser helps the whole family to drink more water as well. It has a lot of efficient space, and I love the drawers in the freezer. Noise Level It makes a little bit of noise here and there. Usually it's the ice maker running, or dropping ice. Otherwise, it's pretty quiet! Interior Organization It has a lot of space inside, and on the doors. Although, some spots seem too small to fit much of anything. But still it works great for our family's needs. Temperature Control It has easy temperature controls on the front to keep things at just the right temperature. Ease of Cleaning It is very easy to wipe down, and the shelves slide out as well. It needs a mircofiber cloth for the outside though to clean it well. Durability It's still fairly new to us, but it's been working great so far. Design It looks great in our kitchen easily, but the lights inside have a funny glow to them.
