I'm rating this product a 10 based on what I use it for. I have had my mixer since my husband and I bought our first house 13 years ago and it is still going strong! I use it for the vast majority of my mixing needs. It is great for mashing potatoes and some baking needs. Cookie dough ends up being a bit too thick to mix up with this. The dough gets stuck in the beaters. I'm sure if I used this for too many thick things I could possibly burn out the motor. Mixing Performance Based on the items that I use this for (things that aren't too thick) this does a great job of mixing everything I have used it for. I do use it the most for mashing potatoes. Ease of Cleaning This is very easy to clean. Just pop off the beaters, throw them in the dishwasher and wipe down the mixer. Design It is nice and lightweight and the speed controls are conveniently located at the top near the handle. Durability I have had my mixer for 13 years and it works great. Hopefully I have it for 13 more!

I'm giving this a 10 for mixing performance because, for a hand held mixer this one is very powerful. It comes with several attachments like the dough hooks, a whisk, and the beaters. So, you can do almost everything with this GE Handheld that you can do with a stand mixer, except things that need excessive beating. For instance, divinity candy would not be suitable for this mixer. Heavy duty stand mixers can hardly survive those long beating times. This GE Handheld Mixer has 6 speeds that are conveniently located on the handle for ease of changing while mixing. It also has a "Surge" button which I'm not really sure what that is for at this point. I find that the eject button to remove the attachments is a little difficult to work. You have to kinda push it in and down at the same time to get the beaters to eject. All the attachments are a good quality stainless steel and quite sturdy. Even the whisk is very durable. I've had some that were like cheap tin but this one is very well made. The cord is long enough that I can move from one counter top to the other and not have to unplug the cord to do so. It comes with a case to keep the mixer and attachments in, but; for me, I don't really like the case. It's very hard to get open and is basically just a white plastic box. There are no slots to put the attachments in and they just compete for space with the mixer. You have to kinda cram everything in it to get it to fit. And, when everything is in it, it won't sit up straight. You have lean it against something or lay it down to store it. I find it very easy to clean with just a damp sponge, and all the attachments, being stainless steel, can go in the dishwasher.

I love my GE hand mixer because it gets the job done efficiently. It is quite sturdy unlike some light- weight ones I have come across. It is very easy to operate even without consulting any manual. It mixes well although the dough keeps getting stuck between the spinning rods and this can slow it down considerably if even stop the rods from spinning. It is very easy to clean because it can be disassembled and assembled back with ease to facilitate cleaning. The design is not too flamboyant but it is okay as long as it gets the job done. It does not make much noise like I expected it to. One problem that I encountered is that the dough keeps flying everywhere and one needs to be careful so as not make a mess of everything. I have had it for a while and have never encountered any problem with it so I can say it is very durable. I will recommend this product to everyone.

I use this for everything that needs mixing! I would be lost without it! Mixing Performance I use it to make home made mashed potatoes! It makes the potatoes light and fluffy! prefect! Ease of Cleaning So easy to clean! Just a little soapy water and its done! If any food gets on or in it, the food just comes right off with a little water! I don't have anything in my kitchen that is easier to clean that my mixer! Ease of Use very light vibrations, and light weight! My youngest son at age 2 was learning how to use it and he did not have any problems with it! It is a lot easier to use than the old hand held masher! Design Not only does it work really good but it is compact enough to put anywhere! I have had it in the drawers with my silverware, also hung by a nail on my wall! I love it! Durability I have used and abused my mixer for every holiday for the last like 18 years! and it has never given me any problems! I also have two sons and two nieces who are learning to use the mixer! it is very durable!

When it comes to hand mixers, this is a very good product. It has enough power and enough of an assortment of attachments to offer the variety that a home cook needs when you just want a quick mix. It is far more convenient and easier to clean than a large stand mixer so you can use it every day. If I was doing an all day holiday bake day I would haul out the stand mixer, but for quick every day usage, nothing beats this little mixer. Mixing Performance Mixes every thing, Ease of Cleaning Very easy to have the attachments come off so that they can be washed and everything is sealed well so dough and batter does not get caught up in grooves making it hard to clean. Ease of Use Very easy to use. The attachments snap on easy and detatch easy. The speeds clearly direct you to how much power you need to use. Design It does the job and is durable so the design much be very good. Durability Had this mixer for a while and it is still going strong. i would reccommend it to everyone.

This hand mixer is definitely a step up from the hand mixers I've had in the past. This one has a ton of power and can mix anything thouroughly and quickly. It is great for baking. It also has a wonderful storage/carrying case that keeps all the parts together nicely and makes storing it in the pantry easy and neat. It is powerful enough to mix stiffer things like bread dough but holding it is a little difficult. I still use a stand mixer for that. It has a nice selection of speeds and the beaters are easy to put in and eject. I would recommend this mixer for anyone who wants a more powerful mixer. The only thing that I would call a negative is that the lowest speed is faster than most lows on other mixers.

**I have bake so many cookies, cakes, pies, candy, bars, breads, with my GE Handheld Mixer 225. I know its over five years old. But it still work like it did when I first purchase it, Comes in a neat carrying case. You receive to wirebeaters, one wisk, 2 dough hooks.  It really easy to put the beaters in, they click if their right.  If you have them in wrong you will know. You have six speeds.  The hand stablilzer is really nice when I want to add more ingredents. You can rest it on the side of the bowl. Speed control slides easily from one speed to the other. You have a eject button that will remove all the attachment which ever ones your using. The cord on GE handheld mixer is four feet long. Having the carrying case is really nice. You just wash what you use. Dry off, and put back in the carrying case.  Everything you need is in the case when your ready to bake again. GE came out with a very good mixer when they made this GE Handheld Mixer 225. Last for a long time.** Mixing Performance This mixer is old but still works great. Ease of Cleaning Easy to clean. I just clean each time I use it Ease of Use so easy to use Design Really nice design Durability very durability

I have been waning a hand held mixer for a while so i got one for my birthday. I love it. I have a stand mixer but to lug it out and set it up for just a cake mix once in a while just isn't worth the time. So this little hand mixer is perfect. I like all the different beaters that came with it, The storage case to hold it all is great. Keeps eveything in one place. No searching through drawers to find beaters. it seems to have good power for mixing. If i do something more heavy duty like a bread dough then I will get out the big mixer for cake and brownie mixes or creaming eggs and sugar for cookied once every few months it works great. The cord is long enough. Mine the cord winds up into the end of the mixer. It is a nice little mixer for the price i paid for it. The only down side is it can get a little heavy for items that need a longer mixing. Like egg whites or creaming eggs or butter for cookies. But still it is my go to kitchen gadget. I reccomend this product.
