Too many issues

2

The GE Gas Dryer was our first dryer; we received it used. From the beginning we had issues with it. For starters, the dryer was not heating properly. We replaced the core heating element, and the dryer worked. From then on, it would take multiple cycles to dry clothing, even small loads. Also, the capacity of the dryer was so small. We were never able to dry larger items such as our comforter, blankets, and sleeping bags. Load Capacity We often resorted to hanging as much of the load as we could because the capacity of the dryer so small and it would take so long to dry what little we had in the dryer. Performance Our dryer did not perform well; even with maintenance and replacing parts. We received our dryer used, but only a few years old. We ended up replacing it after a total of five years because of the money we had to put it to get it work and the amount of times we had to run the dryer (2-3 times per small load), just to get the clothes to dry. Ease of Use The dryer was easy to use; there are very few settings. It is user friendly.

Great dryer for heavy loads

I work at a public farm in the north where we get snow and all that extra stuff. Customers come in with kids and one of our services is drying customers clothes. This is used a lot with swimsuits too during the summer time. Load Capacity It can fit about 10 winter jackets full. It can fit about 8 snow pants full. If you combine the two you can get about 5 winter jackets and 4 snow pants full. For swimsuits we put about 25 in at a time. Performance While our customers are waiting for winter jackets/snow pants/swimsuits to be dried for them, we have a cafe that they can sit at & eat a treat or two. This dryer gets very hot...at least around 400 degrees but that is because we have a double gas line which puts double the heat in. It takes winter jacket/snow pants about an hour to be fully dried and then takes swimsuits a good 45 minutes. Ease of Use Toss all the clothes in and turn it on high & hit start! Durability This is our 5th year with this dryer and we use this dryer 7 days a week for 18 hours a day and it works like a charm! Design It looks old but it doesn't matter.

GE Profile DPSB620GC Gas Dryer is great!

GE Profile DPSB620GC Gas Dryer is a great dryer! We even got ours used and it still works like a dream. It has so many settings you can choose from which is good for the life of your clothes. The clothes always come out fluffy and dry! It also seems to dry in a very short amount of time. I like its clean design and I love the large opening which makes loading a breeze. When the dryer is running, it's so quiet, you won't even know it's on. I guess the only cons is the lint filter. It doesn't seem to come out so you have to wipe it down. Sometimes the lint gets on the door too. Otherwise a very good dryer, at a very decent affordable price, even when new. It also seemed to lower our energy bills as well!

Good value with one negative

This dryer is a great value for the price.   It's main drawback is the lint filter.   The lint falls down into the dryer as the filter doesn't catch everything.  The buzzer to alert you is very loud and annoying, but we have disabled it.   Otherwise, we are very happy with this dryer.

Actually Pretty Good

Not a bad dryer at all.  Ours tends to run a bit hot, so we seldom go above the delicate temperature, but the capacity is good, and most items are dry in one cycle.  We've put everything from shoes to comforters to diapers in this thing, and have had no issues with snags, excessive noise, or items that just don't dry.  Some items need the 'More Dry' cycle, but unless you select the wrong cycle to start with, there's seldom any need to use multiple cycles.  The controls are simple enough to use, even for guests who are unfamiliar with our appliances.  The dryer runs smoothly and quietly enough for my cat to be able to sit happily on it while it's in use, so it's not really a disturbance if you're in the next room over.  The lint trap is easily accessible by the door, which opens at the side, and the opening is large, so throwing in armloads of wet laundry is easy.  Ours has been chugging along for five years.

This dryer has worked well for us.

We've had this dryer for 2 1/2 years, and we bought it used. It has worked well for us. The dryer outlasted the matching washer, which died one year after we bought it. We have a larger than average family, so I often do in excess of fifteen loads of laundry a week. This dryer sees lots of use. Over the past year, it has started to take a little longer to dry a load. It used to take forty-five minutes to dry a load of clothes, and now it takes fifty-five minutes to dry that same load.  Pros: I like that there is a buzzer for when the clothes are done and that you can turn that buzzer on or off, depending on your needs.  It seems to operate very efficiently. Even though I dry fifteen or more loads per week, our gas bill is low.  I like the options given for the cycles. You can choose to dry by sensor or dry for a certain amount of time. You can also choose regular, medium, low, and no heat. This allows you to dry things that might be more delicate.

Ge Profile washer Worst product I've ever bought, Buyer Beware!

1

I purchased the GE profile washer and gas dryer in september of 2006.  It is not even 4 years old and I have had both appliances serviced several times!   Never again will I purchase GE.  Not reliable enough for a single person nevermind a mother of 4!
