The GE Spectra Free Standing Gas Range is good for any Kitchen and for any cook. The gas range is not too big and easy to fit in my small family kitchen. The gas range has a great look both on the interior and exterior. The gas ranges has five sealed burners. In which two on the right and two on the left and one big sealed burner in the middle. It does not take long for the sealed burners to light up. It only takes just seconds. The sealed burners on the GE Spectra Free Standing Gas Range are also very easy to clean. You just need to just lift up the seals and just clean with a simple rag. The Gas range has easy controls to use and setup. For example you can setup the range clock and oven temperature quick and fast. In the gas range oven there are three selves you and our family can use. You or any of your family members can adjust the selves to fit you or your family's needs. The oven does not take long to warm up and as I said before it is easy time the oven and its temperature. Although the gas range easily fit in my family kitchen it may not fit in your family kitchen. The range is big in size; Check how much room you have in your kitchen. Also the GE Spectra Free Standing Gas Range is costly like most GE products so wait until the range is on sale. The range is a excellent range to buy.

OVerall, this is a really great stove/oven. I bought this as part of a GE kitchen appliance package and really enjoy using it. There are a few things that I don't really love about this stove but overall I am happy with my purchase and would recommend its purchase. Temperature Control Temperature control is good and gives you several options, since each burner is a little different and states what it is best used for (i.e.: high temperatures, simmering, etc.) Heat Distribution Overall heat distribution appears to be good, I haven't had any issues with this. Durability THis stove/oven is very durable and I like the overall construction of it. The one thing that I do not like is the fact that the burner covers look like they are chipping. I talked with GE and they said it is common for this to happen and they have received lots of complaints about it. They promptly sent me out four new burner covers without a problem. I just keep those stored and put them on when company is over so my stove looks really nice, then use the old ones for cooking. Design Overall good design, just wish the larger burners were in back and not the front! Ease of Cleaning Pretty easy to clean, but I feel like the burner covers and grates over the burners never really look really clean.

The General Electric True Temp Oven and Range works well for all of the cooking I do. The pros: Of the four gas burners, there is one that is a "precise simmer" burner and two that are "powerful" burners and one that has no specification. The power burner is great. It boils my small pot of water in three minutes and my large pots of water in about double the time. The simmer burner is equally great, allowing me to leave sauces on the stove to simmer for hours without the food burning. It is easy to clean. There are two removable pieces that surround the stove tops, so I can remove them to wash either by hand or in the dishwasher. The oven heats up quickly, too...no waiting around for an hour for my oven to reach 550 when I am making pizzas! The oven cooks my food evenly. The cons: Disclaimer: I did not read the instructions first. But, when setting the timer, there is no "start" button, which confused me. Simply, you hit "set timer" and then enter your time, and it starts without hitting a start button. No other complaints from me...

We inherited this range from the previous owner and we like it very much. First of all, the range top heats up quickly, so we can bring water to boil quickly and cooks food fast. The downside is that since it's super hot, we have to watch our pots closely as quite often, liquid spill over the range top. I normally have to set it in lower heat to avoid any burns or spill. The good thing is that the ceramic service cleans easily as you can just wipe up the spill. For burn stain, you will need to scrub it with soap and it does comes off quite well. There is also an option button for one top area to heat up a smaller area for small pots and bigger area, which I've found it quite useful. Oven preheats quickly as well, unlike the gas oven which I previously use in my old apartment where we have to wait forever for it to preheats. Really speeds things up. Since it is electric, it uses up a lot of electricity though since I would think a big portion of bill comes from this electric range since I cook almost everyday.

The light 'burned out' and now we can't figure out anyway to replace it.  Parts are fairly inexpensive.  The oven is only 5 years old and the temp is already off by 20 degrees.  The cooktop has worked well.

downfall I hate the cleaning cycle as it leaves a toxic smell in our home gives me an instant headache just as I turn it on. I have to be gone for hours when I run it through and still open up windows and turn on a fan to clean our our air in the house.
