Great for large amounts of laundry

4

This is such an awesome dryer, we were having problems with not being able to fit much in our previous dryer which left us with going to the laundromat for simple things like washing our queen sized comforter which was just a hassle. Until we upgraded our dryer to this and it's been great ever since !

Excellent Model

I really like GE appliances and have had very good luck with them so when I needed a new dryer I purchased their Front Load Dryer. I'm not very particular about my dryer. I just want it to dry my laundry quickly and easily. There is no way I can hang my laundry outside in the dead of winter so I need a dryer. This does a great job of drying everything. I have a front load washer that gets everything about 90% dry by the time it even goes into the dryer so this just needs to get that last bit of water out and take out any wrinkles that developed in the wash. It performs those functions perfectly. I use dryer balls in mine and they work fine. They're loud but they're effective. I've found this to be equally effective for everything from bras and other intimates to regular clothes to sheets, towels, and blankets. Everything comes out perfectly dry and wrinkle free. I really hardly ever have to iron anything anymore. I definitely recommend this model. There are no bells and whistles but it just works and works well. In the many years that I've had it I haven't had to call for a single repair. It just works flawlessly every single time.

Ok Dryer

4

We bought this GE Electric dryer when we moved into our new house, along with the matching washer. At first I was pretty impressed with how quickly it dried our clothes, and that the sensor worked pretty well at stopping when the clothes were dry and not before or after. But after about 6 months, it just didn't seem to be working as efficiently. 9 times out of 10, the clothes will still be damp when the alarm signals that the cycle is complete. I always make sure the lint trap is clean, and even clean out underneath it, and from the back of the dryer vent to be sure everything is clean and working properly. I also notice that the dryer gets a mild mildew smell often which transfer to my clothes. Again, I make sure the lint screen is clean, clean the ducts and vents and will still get that nasty smell. And I don't even leave the clothes in their wet, so not sure why it does this. I even completely replaced all the ducts and put the vacuum hose in the back duct to clean all inside the dryer out. As far as cycles, it has plenty of cycles for your clothes, an additional timer to use instead of the sensor, and lots of heat choices. The lint screen is easy to use, but a lot of lint does get underneath it and builds there. It's not a terrible dryer, but definitely not one of the better ones we have had. Design I give it a 5 for design because I think the design is part of the reason it gets the mildew smell in it, even when clothes are not left in it wet and not running.

Good dryer

5

Overall, I am not super picky about my washer and dryer. I look for the basics, in terms of finding appliances that get my clothing clean and dry, without being too harsh on them and degrading the fabric of my clothing and my family members' clothing. This dryer earns high ratings, in my book, because it seems to dry quickly and evenly, even if I put fabrics if various materials and of varying thickness in the same load. The dryer sensing setting does a nice job, and I feel that this dryer definitely out performs the two dryers that I've owned previously. In my experience, GE tends to be a trustworthy, high quality brand. Though this dryer was not a bargain of a deal, and it was costlier than other models that I considered, I feel like I am getting my money's worth because, so far, I do believe that this dryer is superior to the lower priced brands, and even the lower priced GE models. Another thing that is nice about this dryer is that it has many specific features that I can adjust, so that I know that I am drying my clothing on the setting that will be the best for each type of clothing that I dry.

Simple Front Load Dryer that Gets the Job Done!

4

The GE Front Load Dryer doesn't have all the bells and whistles that some dryers do, but it's energy star rated and does a quality job of getting the clothes dry and can handle a decent size load. It doesn't have the digital display or extra options, but it's simple, has less features that could break and it gets the job done. It may not be stylish but does what it needs to do. Energy Efficiency It is Energy Star rated and is much more efficient than dryers from years ago, but isn't as energy efficient as some of the newer large capacity dryers, but it is still a quality dryer. Cleaning Time It has an average drying time I would say. From the washer to completely dry on an average size load is about fifty minutes. Not great, but not too bad. Performance The GE Front Load Dryer does what it's supposed to do. Is it the best, no, is it the worst? Absolutely not. It's an affordable dryer that is simple and lacks style, but that's okay. It's not made to win the beauty contest. Ease of Use It's really simple and easy to use. Ease of use is truly one of it's best qualities. All you have to do is simply load the clothes, shut the door, choose your settings, set the time and push the button to start. If you want to get fancy you can set the alert button to ring when the dryer finishes. Design Basic and simple is the easiest and best description for the design of this dryer. There's not a whole lot to it. Less you can break and less that can go wrong. Durability It is a durable model because of it's simplicity and basic design. There are a lot less things that can go wrong which makes this a more durable product compared to other dryers.

A hard working dryer!

4

We have had this dryer for a few years and I love it! Dryers are probably mostly the same, but I think this one is easy to see what options you have, and it is easy to choose and decide what you want to do. It is also a big dryer and can handle some large loads. I have dried a king size down alternative comforter in there before, and while I did have to pull it out and shift it around a few times, it dried it! There are 4 different heat settings for drying, high, medium, low, and no heat. There is also an option to have it beep and signal when your load is done or not. I like that I can turn it off, because it is loud! The dryer has a wrinkle care setting which actually works. It runs for about the last 5-10 minutes of each load to help it be less wrinkled, and it does make a difference to me. If you leave your clothes in the dryer for a few days, they will be wrinkled still, but if they sit for a few hours or even a day, I don't have issues with them wrinkling up like I have with other dryers. This dryer has a sensor that actually helps your clothes so they don't over dry, so instead of setting the dryer for 45 minutes, you can select if you want them less, or more dry, and it will stop when that load is done. This means some of my smaller loads or lighter fabrics dry really quickly, and I can get another load in there quickly. I have had some issues with my highest heat setting, drying cottons. For some reason, it occasionally won't actually heat up, so the clothes spin and spin and spin, for sometimes an hour or two before I realize. I open it up, and it is cold. But, I switch the setting to a timed one, or another setting and it works fine. We have had multiple people come check it out, but it is random, so they can never get it to repeat, and it has never been fixed. It rarely bothers me, but I just don't dry on the cotton setting anymore. I think it is probably a fault of our dryer, not the brand.

Nice conservative dryer

4

The GE DPSE810EGWT Dryer is a very nice and conservative dryer that I enjoy using. I have owned this GE dryer for quite some time now and it has not given me much of a hassle. Although this dryer may not be as flashy and attractive as some of the other dryers out there, it still gets the job done and I love it for that. This dryer really dries my clothes, towels, sheets quickly and I am amazed at how fast I was finished drying everything. The GE brand name is a good one as their products are normally of great quality and are usually of a high standard and I would prefer GE products over a lot of the other brands when it comes to dryers and some other things too. The price of this GE DPSE810EGWT Dryer is also affordable and not half as expensive as some of the other dryers being sold. This dryer is also easy to use as well which is great because I hated having to use my old dryer. I would recommend this dryer to other people.

No complaints from me!

5

We purchased the Ge Dryer about 4 months ago and so far so good. I cannot complain. The controls and settings were a no brainer and self explanatory, no needto read the manual. The extra large capacity is great and holds blankets and comforters easily and dies the fully. Other reviewers said that this dryer was very loud, but I don't find this to be so.Yes, you can hear it, but I wouldn't call it annoying or distracting. My 2 year old naps through the sound with no problems. The lint trap is easy to remove and to clean and I like how it is in the front by the door, rather than at the back of th machine. This dryer is also suppoed to be energy efficient which is always a plus in my book. The door hinge can also be switched from left to right or vice versa to fit wit your set up. All in all, I would highly suggest this to anone looking for a new dryer. It may not be the fancy look of all the new ones out there, but looks are not everything!

Love this dryer, but only had it for a few days

5

Just got this dryer and so far I am soooo impressed with it. We bought it because of its high review on consumer reports and we needed a dryer that was very quiet as it is right off our kitchen. This dryer is extremely quiet, in fact my new washer is much noisier! IT has a large capacity stainless steel drum and dries clothes in less time than any dryer we have owned. We are really pleased with this dryer & expect to continue using it for many years to come.

Best dryer I have owned

4

My husband and I purchased the DPSE810EGWT dryer from General Electric almost three years ago. It has been a workhorse and done very well for the most part. Occasionally towels need to be run an extra twenty minutes or put on the medium heat setting in order to fully dry, and some thicker clothing as well (i.e. double layered flannel with interfacing, jeans, etc). I have found that using the extended spin cycle on the washer helps lower drying time as well as not cramming it to max capacity. The signal when the dryer is finished is much like a microwave beep, and sounds several times to indicate that your clothing is ready to be removed. I appreciate that feature greatly, because I cannot always hear it the first time if I am busy, so having it sound again after a minute or so really helps (the signal stops as soon as you open the dryer though, so no worries about it repeating if you were right there for the first beep).
