Greenies didn't work for us.

3

I have to say that I am in love with the idea of Greenies Dental Chews, but they just didn't work for my dog (a 5 year old yorkie). However, I will say that my dog is starting to develop stage 1 periodontal disease. We weren't expecting a miracle product by any means, but something to at least help control my dog's bad breath and maintain the current health of his teeth. We tried Greenies Lite Canine Dental chews to develop a daily dental routine for our dog that wouldn't cause him to gain weight as a result. Although my dog loved the taste of these, he devoured them so quickly that I don't feel like he had a chance to allow the product to work. They fell apart so easily. My dog's breath would smell neutral just after eating it, but his bad breath would return almost immediately. In my opinion, this product is too expensive to justify buying when I don't think it really did the job. At the end of the day, I feel like this product would be a good alternative to the occasional treat, but as a vet would recommend, it shouldn't replace brushing your dog's teeth. Not good for dogs with teeth problems, especially older dogs

3

I purchased these for my older dog to help with her breath because she absolutely hated having her teeth brushed. Her breath was not an issue for a long time, but she was changing as she got older, and she was smelling a little funky sometimes. These were recommended to me, so I figured what the heck, we can try them. I brought them home and gave one to her, and she took it and seemed to enjoy it. So I gave some more to her over the next few days, and her breath did seem to smell somewhat better, nothing major. Then I decided to clean the house, and I found most of what I had given her with chew marks and quite a bit left on each one. So I decided to give her one and watched her with it. It turns out she was unable to chew it up very well. and gave up after getting a few bits of it. She was almost 15, and her teeth were getting bad, so these turned out to not be a good idea. I would not recommend for older dogs with dental issues, or really any dogs with teeth problems. I am rating a 5 because they are a good idea but my experience was not great.

A better choice for dogs that are overweight.

Greenies are a wonderful product. I am a definite advocate of them. I started buying the lite version of the dental treats after my dalmatian started gaining a little weight. If your dog has a few extra pounds (or more), this Greenies product is perfect for them. Both of my dogs loved Greenies products and I really wanted to make giving them treats a little healthier. I was very happy when I found a lite version of their favorite treat! My dog did not notice a difference in the product, so he never knew that he was actually receiving a "diet" treat. He still pranced by the cabinet with the treats waiting for his dental bone! Also, it worked just like the original dental treat. It helped clean his teeth while he chewed, which is also wonderful. I would recommend these treats to anyone who has a dog with extra pounds and who wants to have a treat that also cleans their dog's teeth!

Great treat for dogs- and their teeth!

My dog absolutly loves these treats! I bought them because although my dog is not terrible when I go to brush his teeth, he also doesn't love it. These are a great thing to use on days I am not able to brush his teeth. I can definetly tell when it has been a couple days in between brushing his teeth and giving him a greenie. My dogs breath gets pretty stinky! After he eats his greenie treat his breath is much better! So its a treat for me too! haha. It nice to because my dog loves his greenies! Whenever he hears me getting the bag from the cupboard he gets so excited and then sits down right away so he can get his treat! He just gobbles it all up! The greenies are a bit more expensive than your average dog treat, however you are also cleaning your dogs teeth so I would say it is worth spending a bit of extra money on them. Plus if you get the sunday paper, or look online you can also often find coupons for the greenies, which can help with the cost.

Dental Bone Goodness

My dog has bad breath and his teeth looks kind of dirty sometimes if i don't brush it. i really would brush his teeth more but he just hates the toothbrush with a passion. he doesn't mind when i put my hand in his mouth or around his teeth but for some reason, once i pickup the toothbrush and get it anywhere near his mouth he clamps down and shuts down like it's fort knox. it's almost impossible for me to get the brush inside his mouth let alone brush his teeth to get it nice and clean. that is where these bones come in handy because my dog seems to love the flavor and afterwards his teeth look a little bit more clean and his breath no longers smells bad. the only problem i have about these bones is that if he eats too much of the dental bone he has diarrhea and becomes very inconvenient for me because i have to wash his super long fur...grosss. so i recommend this bone but only in moderation or your dog will leave you a surprise that is unwanted. Great Dental Bone!

My Dogs Would Say Greenies Are Fantastic!!

5

I buy these teenie sized greenies for my 4 small dogs, they are trhe perfect size for dogs under 15-20lbs. My dogs love them so much that when they get one, they eat them so quick its like they inhale them. The Greenies are great when it comes to cleaning teeth, not all dog treats help clean their teeth while their being eaten. Sure these treats are a little more on the pricey side but their worth it.

gross

I got to try this product at petsmart. I have to say it is gross looking. Not only does it look gross it smells gross too. My dog wanted no part of this. Usually dogs go crazy for just about any type of dog treat, but showing him , he could care less. I dont know why they would pock such a horrible color for a dog treat. Dont waste your money
