Worked great, until it didn't

3

I was looking for a small coffee maker to have on hand for when we had company. I came across this one while searching on amazon.com. I thought this would be perfect since you can simply heat the water to make tea, hot chocolate, oatmeal, rice, etc. Pretty much whatever you need a small amount of boiling water for. You can add as little or as much water as you need, and it literally takes seconds for the water to reach the boiling point. So convenient for single servings of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. And such a time saver when making rice. I loved this thing. It was easy to store, and easy to clean. It was definitely my go to machine. Unfortunately it didn't last more than a year before it made a popping noise and that was it. It just completely stopped working. I was really disappointed. I am not sure if I will buy another one, or try and go with a different brand other than Hamilton Beach this time. Fortunately it wasn't pricey, so I got my money's worth while it still did work.

Hamilton Beach 3-in-One Hot Beverage Center 42115

The;**Hamilton Beach 3-in-One Hot Beverage Center 42115**, is a fantastic product. I like the look of the product. I has a modern artistic appeal. It is functional in that it can provide hot water for making soups, cocoa, ramen noodles, oatmeal, various other foods,  or anything you might want that can be prepared b adding hot water. Notice also this product is great for brewing coffee and/or tea.  It can brew from grounds or pods, as it says on the box, into a cup or mug. To brew coffe, you need 2 minutes or less. It can bew tea from bags or from loose tea leaves.  I acutally received mine as a gift for years of service with my employer. It features a stainless steel permanent filter. I always line mine with a disposable filter to make clean up that much more simple. The stainless still permanent filter is dishwasher safe.  The flll reservoir, also removable, is a 14 oz water tray that can be filled at the sink or from a cup. The cup stand is two tiers to support a standard coffee cup, travel mug or bowl. And to top it off, the power shuts off automatically. I think you will like this product. I plan to give a couple as gifts this year.

Not Versatile Enough

1

Not Versatile Enough When we were redoing our kitchen, I got rid of our old coffee maker that had major dripping problems. I was looking for a different solution at this point. My husband is a coffee drinker, and I'm a tea drinker. Once he started going to work earlier in the morning, he stopped drinking coffee before work, preferring just to have a few cups at work. I wanted something where I could use it to make my tea, yet also make him a cup of coffee on the weekends, and decided on the Hamilton Beach 3-in-1 Hot Beverage Center Model 42115. The first few weeks, this Hamilton Beach product worked great. I could literally brew form anything, whether it be loose tea, ground coffee, tea bags, instant coffee, etc., using it's filter. Swinging the arm out, you put in whatever you're brewing, pour in a cup of water and set it to brew. It had a stand that could be switched around to be used for coffee cups or tall mugs. A quick rinse out allowed me to switch back and forth from coffee to tea. If I wanted to, I could also use it to boil a cup of hot water, something that could have come in handy when we were in the middle of kitchen remodeling and had no appliances installed. Yet, once I was having someone come in to measure for the countertops, I had to put everything away. I stored the unit away in a cupboard, feeling it really was versatile to use it for just one cup here and there, switch back and forth, and only take it out when I needed it. However, once I got the beverage center out again, it didn't work. I tried everything to get this 3-in-1 unit going again, but no matter what I did, it would only output a few spoonfuls of beverage. I cleaned it, scoured it, and moved it. It seemed like something within the balance of the beverage center had been disrupted, so I tried everything to fix that, moving it around to different areas of the kitchen, even putting it away until the countertops were installed, but to no avail. I was very disappointed in the Hamilton Beach 3-in-1 Hot Beverage Center. Eventually it was added to the junk pile, as it was useless only brewing a few spoonfuls at a time. My husband has bought a new coffee maker that sits out and is only used once or twice a week, and I am relegated to once again making my tea in the microwave.

Hamilton Beach 3in1 is nice

I got this 3 in 1 beverage center free to use at my work.  I don't drink a lot of coffee or tea but wanted something that could do either or make hot water.  I have used it for coffee and tea so far and i've had it for about 2 weeks now and it's so nice to use.  i am limited to how much space i have in my small office so it fits nicely and doesn't take up a lot of space.  it makes coffee and tea quickly with no mess and no nasty filters to use.  i really like it but now if you are one to drink lots of coffee it may not keep up but i'm not sure of that since i only drink 1 cup every other day.  I will be trying out the hot water part very soon so i can make hot chocolate and i'm excited that it will do that.
