Does its job, no frills

I don't like the knob makes you guess just how long you're putting it in for. It is a toaster oven that toasts bread and cooks small items.

The easiest toaster oven to use!

5

I have not had much luck with toaster ovens until I bought the Hamilton Beach Toaster Oven. It is simple and very easy to use with not too many knobs. The pictures on the knob section to choose oven or toaster is very easy to understand. It heats up really fast which I love. It even has a slotted tray for toasting and a solid tray for food that does not need the slots. I use it for heating up pizza rolls and makes cooking biscuits. It uses less energy to cook food then having to heat up my regular oven. I highly recommend this toaster oven to anyone. I love the fact that even has a blue button that lights up when the toaster oven is on. It also has a pretty loud dinger when your food is done cooking. It also has a removable drip/crumb tray that is really easy to dismantle and clean. I have owned my Hamilton Beach Toaster Oven for over 6 months and have had no problems at all with it. This item would be a great asset to add to your kitchen appliances and will last for a very long time if taken care of.

Pretty good toaster

The toaster is an okay product. It does what it's supposed to do. No bells or whistles. If you let too many crumbs gather in the under part, you get a burn smell and it's not very easy to clean. I use it on bake at least once a week and it's great when you don't want to start up the oven. For the money spent on it, it's pretty good.

Not great, but you get what you pay for.

This toaster does toast things well but there are more than a few problems. From time to time the timer will just stop working halfway though counting down, which has burned entirely too many things. The heating coils are also not very well distributed and quite low, so make sure whatever you put inside is thin and be sure to rotate it if its wide. The backend has a little notch to fit a pizza in, but its still really not big enough to fit any but the smallest of pizzas. The unit also tends to get extremely hot so you always have to be careful about what is near it and touching absolutely any part of it except for the knobs and the small door handle.

Hamilton Beach Toaster Oven Does the Job

3

I was first introduced to this style of toaster oven in college, when it was a mainstay in the lounge area. But I also used it extensively when I went out on my own -- Husband's first place didn't have an oven, and we did a lot of our cooking in this toaster oven, as well as a hot plate and crockpot. What I appreciate about it is its ease of use -- you can cook a wide variety of items in that interior, and it's not hard to do. It also doesn't heat your place up during summertime, like a conventional oven is apt to. The negatives are few, but need to be taken into consideration -- first, it is rather easy to overcook items in this (it does run a little on the hot side). And secondly, it's not the easiest thing in the world to clean. You need to wipe it out regularly, if you're cooking a lot in it. Having said that, it's a versatile workhouse for the average person's (especially the beginner cook's) needs.

Great oven, gets really hot though!

I love this oven, its sooo excellent for warming up my bread and stuff, especially since it can get a lot warmed up in a short amount of time. I was really glad when my dad bought this for me so I can have a toaster oven in the basement and not have to constantly go upstairs to eat breakfast. It gets really hot sometimes though! Like, when I'm getting my bread out, I end up burning my hands!! it really hurts! but now I got the hang of it and thta never really happens unless i'm in a rush.. and I just stick my hand in there really quick. Overall I love this toaster, and I would reccommend it for those who want their toast quick and well done. Sometimes, you do have to flip the bread slices to make sure both sides get well done.

General Toaster Oven Gets the Job Done

3

I bought this toaster oven for two reasons: one - I needed some kind of oven to bake with, because my studio apartment doesn't have an oven; two - it was the cheapest one at the store of a brand that I knew of. This toaster oven works well for baking. It has a temperature control knob and a timer that dings and shuts off the oven when its done. I have trouble getting it to toast properly, which may be operator error, but it always ends up black on one side and soft on the other. It is not big enough for pizza, but big enough (barely) for one of those hormel pork tenderloins to fit diagonally. It does not burn my cookies (10 minutes exactly for the nestle tollhouse break n  bakes!) which is a plus. I wish this had a preheat notice, because I never know when its preheated. I just wait for the inside burner lights to shut off and thats when I put my stuff in and set the timer. Every piece of this thing gets hot, except the handle - which sucks because in my apartment, this is kind of free standing and has to be left alone (it melts whatever plastic may be in direct contact with it) but I need the counter space and sometimes forget to move things when its in use. Overall, it works for what I need it to, and it wasn't a bad price. Definitely worth it if you just need something to get the job done or tide you over til you can get a real oven.
