This is a good skillet for cooking meats and vegetables. The skillet heats up somewhat evenly except the edges do not heat up as well as the middle of the skillet. The temperature dial is easy to use and sensitive. Performance This is a decent skillet and we rely on it to cook big batches of stews and fajita vegetables. It cooks well and is reliable. I also use it to keep food warm during parties because it is safer and more convenient than using the stovetop. Very versatile and also small enough to take with you on the go. Durability The black skillet can scratch if you use a knife or fork to stir which is annoying. Made from hard metal and will last a long time. Ease of Cleaning The outside of it usually gets sticky if you don't clean it after every use. Wish I could put it in the dishwasher. Easy to clean with a sponge and soap. Ease of Use Easy to turn on and off and adjust temperature while using it. Lid fits nicely. Heats up pretty quickly. Good plug length.

I bought this for my husband after one my grandmother had given to us had finally called it quits. He loves to use it to make hibatchi. We make it weekly so its important that it will last. Its a little bit of a pain to clean but thats why it is his job. Its nice to only have to use one pan instead of a different skillet on each burner. Plenty of room to cook up all the different things. Controls are so easy to use.

Hamilton Beach hit a homerun with this! I love this skillet,it works well with so many dishes.Its so easy to cook in,you can make pastas,meats,eggs,pancakes and so much more,its so versatile we love this thing.It is nonstickl so it is sooo easy to clean you can basically just wipe it down.We have cooked in this and just unplugged it and brought it to potlucks.We have brought this camping and it has actually replaced our camping stove range in our camper.The price of this was so affordable I couldnt pass it up for what it is and does.I think that if you buy this for someone as a gift you will score big and hopefully you will buy one for yourself as well because that is how awesome this is.iT IS ALSO ENERGY EFFICIENT SO YOU WILL SAVE MONEY BY USING THIS instead of yousing your range and oven.The Lid on it is kinda heavy that is actually where all the weight is but other then that I cannot think of a negative thing.I would recommend this to everyone!

We bought the Hamilton Beach Electric Skillet one weekend when our propane went out. The propane company couldn't make it out until the following week and our stove top ran on gas. We needed a way to cook our meals and it was snowing outside so we were not about to use the grill to cook eggs and pancakes for breakfast. This skillet is huge. Not only was I able to cook the eggs but also cooked twice as many pancakes than possible with my regular stovetop skillet. I have since used this skillet to cook a roast and potatoes which came out tasting like an oven cooked roast. I love the fact that the Hamilton Beach Electric Skillet has a clear lid so I can check on the food while it is cooking without removing the cover. Cleaning this large skillet is easier than expected. Everything slides right off and I simply use a little water and soap to sanitize it. I suppose the only draw back would be finding a place to store the skillet if you have limited space in your kitchen.
