Great for the Working Mom!

I love this Slow Cooker! It is so nice to throw some items in the cooker, go to work, come home and dinner is done....so easy! Time to Heat I like how quickly this cooker heats up. You can set the temp by using a guide on the lid that gives you the correct temperatures for different types of meats and poultry. Cooking Performance This crock pot is nothing like the first one I purchased so many years ago. You have so many options in cooking. A probe, high and low settings make it hard to burn your food. If it is on too long it switches to warm. Your roasts come out so moist and juicy! It pulls apart with a fork. I always have so many great compliments on my roast. When I make a chicken I add the spices and the chicken when done, falls off the bone. For the holidays I put the left over turkey carcass in the pot, add some turkey, veggies, put on low, and leave it alone all day and enjoy the family. We have a delicious soup for dinner, yummy!. Soup are so delicious when made in this crock pot and the best thing is, you put it in and it does all the work for you. I was so happy with this crock pot I purchased one of these for my sons family, they were so happy. I brown the beef first then throw it in with potatoes, carrots, a package of onion and mushroom soup mix and the beef stew comes out delicious. Potatoes cook up nicely, and the meat cuts with a fork. Ease of Cleaning So easy to clean! I love that the part that holds all your food comes out, so you can either put it in the dishwasher safely or just clean with warm sudsy water. The outside surface cleans easily with soap and water. Ease of Use It is so easy to use! So very handy for the working mom. Easy to use, just put your meat, and veggies in, add some spices, Set the heat selection, or place in your probe, and off you go, dinners ready in a few hours when you come home. And that yummy scent when you come home...delicious! Design This is a beautiful Crock pot. The stainless steel is beautiful, and easy to wipe with soap and water to clean. Durability I have had this crock pot for a while now and use it at least 3 times a week. It's made strong to last. I can tell it took a lot of thought with this wonderful design.

Great for family sized meals!

I was in the market for a new slow cooker and was researching different models to try to decide on the best model to meet my needs. I read lots of reviews and finally settled on the Hamilton Beach Set N' Forget slow cooker. It boasts a nice large 6 quart crock, which allows me to cook for a large number of people, or just freeze leftovers for myself for future meals. This slow cooker has several features that made me choose it. I liked the different heat settings, along with the ability to set the timer to start at a certain time, or change from cooking to keeping warm after a certain amount of time. I will say the metal clips that secure the lid are not my favorite feature, but then again, I don't really travel with my slow cooker anyway. There is even a nice-sized spoon that comes attached to the lid. I've owned this for 2 years and have been very pleased so far. If you're looking for a large slow cooker with lots of features, this might be the product for you.

Hamilton Beach Set'n'Forget slow cooker

This is a very nice slow cooker. Very large, so only suitable for big meals, but is big enough to easily cook ribs, or entire chicken or turkey breast. The only downside I found to it was it was so large it didn't fit in the dishwasher so I had to hand-wash it. It is great to take places though, very easy to transport with handles on the base.

A slow cooker with a ton of options!

Crock pots have really come a long way. When my daughter wanted the Hamilton Beach Set 'n Forget 6-Quart Slow Cooker, I started to look around for the best prices. This is one expensive crock pot, but I decided she needed to be pampered and purchased it for her. The Hamilton Beach 33966 6 Qt. Slow Cooker has a lot of really nice features, making it quite versatile for women who like to start their dinners before heading off to work. When they get home dinner is ready and waiting for them! The main thing I personally dislike, but it doesn't bother my daughter, is the amount of counter real estate this item requires. However, if you have stainless steel appliances, it blends in perfectly with a modern kitchen. It sure doesn't look like a "country crock". My old crock pots had solid colored lids, and removing the lid to check on the cooking process can set the clock back on dinner, so I appreciate the nice clear glass dome shaped lid on this model. I used this for two months when my daughter had her first baby, and although I wouldn't buy it for myself, she loves it. I've had a microwave with a probe, but never a slow cooker. This model has probe jack that plugs into the base and it comes in very hand for cooking a roast or other large piece of meat. This isn't as easy as plug it in and choose "slow or high", it looks like a computer. There is a digital display on the front but it's pretty self explanatory. The "Program Mode" is very handy for working folks, you can program the meal to switch from cooking mode to warm mode, so it won't become overcooked or dry. If your recipe calls for the meal to be cooked for a certain number of hours (and all of my crock pot recipes do), you can program the product to cook exactly that many hours. Again, a great feature if you are out of the home for most of the day. My one complaint is that this slow cooker tends to cook at a higher heat than I expected. One meal nearly boiled dry and that would concern me if I were indeed not keeping an eye on it throughout the day. I prefer to cook using recipes that require a fair amount of liquid, but I didn't expect the contents to actually come to a full boil, and they did. The crock is removeable so you can wash it, and I prefer to wash it by hand since it takes up a lot of room in the dishwasher. Like I said, my daughter loves this model, but after using it for two months I can say I really prefer the less fancy crock pots that I personally own. Time to Heat Seems to heat up very quickly, but I didn't expect the contents to actually boil the way they did. Cooking Performance Did a great job in cooking a roast using the probe, and casseroles came out nicely as well. I just made sure to add enough liquids so they didn't boil dry. Ease of Cleaning Crock comes out for easy cleaning. Ease of Use Not as simple as the old fashioned crock pots with the "low and high" selections, but it isn't too hard to figure out. Design Large but very attractive, especially if you have stainless appliances in your home Durability Seems to work well and my daughter has had no problems with this in nearly two years of use.

I wld buy a Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker 6 Qt. for everyone I know

I purchased the Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker 6 Quart to replace another that recently bit the dust (in the middle of cooking). I researched and researched before I finally pulled the trigger. This Slow Cooker had lots of good reviews and few if any complaints. I have had the Slow Cooker for a year now and I have been very pleased with my purchase. I like that you can either use the timer or the thermometer probe. Really love that the lid locks. I have two cats that like to jump up on the counters and were always knocking things down. They can't get into this Slow Cooker! I would recommend anyone looking for one to try this one out. I have not been disappointed.   Time to Heat Heats up very fast and maintains temperature. Cooking Performance Cooks evenly everytime. Ease of Cleaning I tend to use crock pot liners, so really easy clean up! Ease of Use Super easy to use. I love that the lid locks into place- makes it hard for the cats to break into it! Design Love the ease and simplicity of the design. Durability I enjoy using it.

The Hamilton Beach 33966 6-quart slow is my favorite slow cooker

I have gone through many slow cookers. I always seem to break them. I love this one because it has metal handles which attach to a metal surface so it does not break when heated up too frequently like the plastic handles do. The metal handle is also covered in foam so you don't get burned. I like the fact that the timer is digital and you are able to program it yourself without using pre-set times. You can arrow up or down to adjust the time. I have two crock-pots that I use and this one is my absolute favorite. It does cost a little more, but is worth it. Some stores even have this crock-pot on sale sometimes. I have not used the thermometer feature, because most crock-pot recipes use time instead of temperature. It is still nice to have just in case I ever come across a recipe that needs one.

I LOVE this crockpot!

I use my crackpot at least 3 times a week and have various other models and kinds of crockpots, this one is my favorite one. The size is great for doubling recipes. It has a thermometer and came with a handy booklet to check for correct doneness of meats and soups. My crock pot has metal claws on the top to keep the moisture in so none of the hot air leaks out. I am tempted to buy another one just to have it on hand.

Better than the average slow cooker

I like when you can cook by temperature rather than low, medium, and high. What actual temperatures are they? But for people used to the traditional slow cooker, you can use it that way, too. Nice looking design and has removable crock for easy clean up. Has rubber feet for non slip on counter top/table. Glass lid so you can see your food as it cooks, no peeking and letting all your heat out.

It is wonderful! Just throw in the ingredients, set, and forget!

We received the Hamilton Beach 6qt Set and Forget slow cooker as a wedding gift.  It is one of the best gifts we were given and we use it weekly.  I work 2 jobs and my husband (who cooks as well) works long days, but we are still able to eat healthy meals using our slow cooker.  It has three settings - Manual, Program (you set the time and choose High, Low or Warm), and Manual Electric thermometer probe (will cook the meat to the temp you set). You can prep the ingredients the night before, throw it on in the morning on the way out the door, and when you get home dinner is done and still warm.  If you set it for 6 hours, when it is done, the machine will keep adjusting the temperature to keep your food warm!  I recommend this for anyone! -especially those with hectic work lives and/or children!

Doesn't burn food like the others

4

I have had 2 previous crockpots and always disappointed as they seemed to cook too high. I would change the settings to low and cook longer but food still burned to the bottom. Thought this would be great to have auto shut off when done. Honestly we haven't had to use that yet...I set the time and temp as recipe instructs and food has been cooked accurately. The handles that clip down seem little bulky but they do work well. Love that you can take the insert and put it in fridge night before or after with leftovers. Easy to clean!
