Science Diet is great

5

My cat loves this food. She is 8 years old and has had very minimum hair balls and is healthy as can be. I would recommend Science Diet food to any and all animals. I think it is simply the best out there. I started her out on the kitten formula and have moved her up throughout the span of her life. She's rarely sick and always spunky. With bad quality food, litter boxes are a different world than with Science Diet. You can tell a lot of a cat's healthy by the litter box. Litter box clean-up has never been an issue with using this Science Diet food. Quality of Ingredients The Ingredients are those that are helpful to the cat's health. Hairball control was a big issue many cats deal with, especially as they age. The food is formulated to provide healthy body's in your cat and provides indoor cats the muscle they need to be indoors all day. Flavor Selection I've never had an option of flavors, I go strictly off the type of food for my cat's age and activity level. She's never had issues with not eating or acting like she didn't like it.

Updated: Kitty now hates Science Diet!

Update 2/2014: As you can see from this review, I used to be a big fan of Science Diet Adult Indoor Dry Cat Food. However, early last year they changed the formula and now my cat WILL NOT eat it. WON'T even touch the stuff. So...no more Science Diet for me. (Here's what I originally said, before they changed their formula:) I used to feed my cat Iams, but one day several years ago, my cat suddenly refused to eat it. A lot of worry and a trip to the vet later, she was declared to be perfectly fine and healthy, and we figured she just stopped liking the food. So I decided to try Hill's Science Diet. I started out with the regular adult dry formula, which my cat seemed to love, and everyone was happy. All was well, but a couple of years later, the vat announced that my cat was getting a little pudgy. And actually, I noticed it, too. The vet suggested I try a lower-calorie food, so off to the pet shop I went. I was planning on buying Hill's Science Diet Light dry food, but the Indoor dry food caught my eye, and after comparing labels, I discovered that the Indoor formula actually has fewer calories per cup than the Light formula. Given that my cat is completely indoors, and the lower calorie content of the Indoor food, I decided to try it, and I am so glad I did. My cat loves it! There was no problem transitioning her to the Indoor food, and she has never refused it. She eats around 1/3 of a cup a day and seems very happy. And the Indoor food has definitely helped her lose weight; she's down almost a pound! Her coat and eyes look great, and her energy is good as well. Overall Science Diet Adult Indoor dry food is really a keeper. I wish it wasn't so expensive, and I wish I didn't have to make a special trip to the pet store to get it. However, it is well worth it for quality food that keeps my indoor kitty trim, happy, and healthy. Quality of Ingredients I am sure the ingredients are fine quality, but that's no help when my cat won't eat them. Flavor Selection My cat hates the new "improved" flavor!

My cat is a big fan

I adopted my male cat, Ringo, from the local humane shelter about six months ago now and they recommended the Hill's Science Diet for feeding him. Being cheap, I cringed at the price of the food (and still do) however feeding my animals a healthy diet is a BIGGIE to me so I gave in and bought it for him, knowing I was doing the best. Being a very picky eater, I was expecting him to leave it alone and make me regret spending the twenty bucks on such a small bag, however he chowed it right down and looked up at me as if asking for more. Hill's Science Diet has many other selections of food and even different flavors and kibble sizes. I have recommended this to family and friends and have successfully switched a few of my relatives into buying this food for their animals as well. Quality of Ingredients No fillers and completely healthy for your little, loved felines Flavor Selection There are different flavors and even different kibble sizes

Quality brand

After using the original Science Diet dry cat food and noticing my cats were gaining a little weight I switched to the indoor variety. Since then I've tried a large range of other cat foods, including other science diet varieties. I used this as the staple cat food for my cats for 6 months or so. As my cats got older (3 years old or so) they were still a bit overweight and one of them developed some stomach issues causing him to get sick right after eating so I switching to the "light" variety combined with sensitive stomach and hairball control. In general, science diet is a great brand. I used it on my first 2 indoor cats (one who has passed on, the other is almost 20 years old! - he lives at my parents house since they were childhood cats) and they always had great smooth full soft coats and overall were in good health. I found with both my older cats and my newer cats the biggest issue was just the weight, but I think it varies on the activity level and metabolism of each cat. The other main issue with this food is just the price. For me, a college student who had to go down to part time work, money was a big factor in switching brands. Since switching from science diet to purina my cats do go to the bathroom quite a bit more, but other than that they are mostly the same. So, for quite a bit less money I'd say science diet isn't exactly "worth" the cost. However, if money is not an issue for you I would recommend science diet 100% for the quality of food.

Kitty likes it and I like that it helps him stay healthy!

I've been feeding my cat Hill's Science Diet Indoor Dry Cat food for several years now. It's a brand I trust and veterinarian recommended. My cat likes it and it is good for him, which is all important. He has a history of digestive problems, constipation, and lots of hairballs. He got really sick several years ago and had to have surgery, so keeping him regular and treating his hairballs is essential. Ever since then, we've been feeding him the Science Diet Indoor food. It has cut down on his hairballs a lot. He has been much healthier. Now that he's older, we are using the Science Diet Mature Adult Indoor, which has all the same benefits, plus helps keeps his kidneys healthy. During shedding seasons I do still have to give him hairball medicine, but there really is an improvement with the Indoor food. They recently "reformulated" this product and the kernels are a little different and I don't think my cat likes it as well as he did before, but he still readily eats it. Quality of Ingredients According to the bag, real chicken is #1, with no chicken by-product meal. It contains natural fiber and prebiotics for digestive health. Natural ingredients include: chicken, wheat, pork, fish oil, oats, dried apples, dried broccoli, dried carrots, dried cranberries, dried peas, etc. (See bag for full ingredient list.) Flavor Selection Comes in chicken flavor. The food kernels are a unique triangle shape (almost shaped like little Hershey Kisses). It is also available in canned (chicken or seafood).

Science Diet Cat Food is what my cat likes

When my wife called from work telling me that she found a little kitten that somehow was on a delivery truck from another store location and that she wanted to bring him home I was a little hesitant. When I went to her work to pick my wife up she brought out this tiny little kitten that had to be know more than four weeks in old. He was orange, covered in dirt, and meowing up a storm. I fell in love with him that moment and named him Jack Disney, after Captain Jack Sparrow and Walt Disney. Within the week we took him to the vet and the vet said he was healthy and gave us a free bag of Hill's Science Diet Kitten food, and from that moment that is the only food we have bought, except now we are giving him the adult food. This food allows are to have a healthy shinny coat, plenty of energy, healthy digestion, and he has never been overwieght.

Science Diet Rocks!

I have 2 cats and they both love Science Diet Indoor Formula. One of my cat's has a more sensitive stomach and he has no problems with this food. They both are on the chunky side, so it must be yummy to them! I keep my cats on a fairly strict all dry food and no human or wet food diet as they are both indoor and chunky. On the rare occassion I try to give them wet food one of my cats doesn't even eat it. She turns her nose up and walks over to her bowl of Science Diet Indoor pellet food and eats that instead. Science Diet is expensive compared to most other cat food, but is worth it. We recently tried to put our cats on a more organic diet and they both ended up with "cat acne" under their chins. We swtiched them back to Science Diet and now their skin is clearing up nicely and they are just as happy. Science Diet makes happy kitties in our family, we wouldn't switch again I recommend it for every cat!

Hill's Science Diet is all I ever feed my cats!

I have been using Science Diet cat food since I got my cat 14 years ago.  I have never had any issues with the cat food and my cats love it.  We switched to the indoor formula when it first came out and my cats made the transition easily.  They gobbled it right up.  My oldest cat has a sensitive stomach and is a long haired cat so he is prone to hairballs.  This formula had all the things I was looking for in a cat food.  It is specially made for indoor cats that are fixed, which my cats never ever go outside.  It helps reduce hair balls and is lower in fat and calories since indoor cats do alot of lounging and do not get as much exercise as an outdoor cat would.  I would definately recommend Science Diet cat food to all cat owners.  It might seem pricey but when you get a quality cat food, you end up feeding your cat less because they down need as much.  I always buy the biggest bag to get the most for my money!

Hill's Science Diet Adult Indoor Dry Cat Food is perfect!

Hill's Science Diet Adult Indoor Formula dry cat food is perfect for my three cats. This cat food has vitamin C and E, it has high quality lean proteins, it's low fat and has fewer calories than other dry cat foods, and it has high quality ingredients. This is perfect for all of my cats, especially for the one that is slightly overweight. This food also helps reduce hairballs. I rarely see hairballs from my cats, so it must be helping! Every time I pour food in the cat's food bowl, they always run to it and start eating. I free feed them, so I think it's funny that they run to it when I add food to the bowl, even though there is already food in it. They absolutely love this dry food! I have tried giving them other brands of food, but this one always wins. I would recommend Hill's Science Diet Adult Indoor Formula to anyone with an adult cat because it's good for their cats and if their cat is like mine, they will love the taste of it.

Exceptional cat food. Good Nutients for cats of all ages

I have been using Hills Science Diet Cat food for years.  I have had different cats, different ages, and Hills Science Diet makes the most nutritional cat food.  All my cats have loved it.  Whether you want hairball control, mature cat, indoor cats; it comes in all varieties.  Yes, it is more expensive, but it is worth the money.  It was recommended by my vet years ago. My seven year old cat is one of the most "finicky" cats I ever owned. She hates most treats, but again, as most cats do, loves Tuna, which obviously I would not give her on a daily basis.(not good for them on a daily basis).  So my point is,even if your cat is finicky, try Science Diet, and invest in your loved pet.  You won't regret it.
