Improved my dogs skin

I have been feeding this to my amstaff for about 3 weeks now. The switch caused him no digestion problems at all and his coat is looking a lot better, he seems to have actually put on a healthy amount of weight as a result.

This helped my dog lose weight.

My dog was once quite obese and the vet recommended that we put the dog on a diet. My dog loves to eat so I wanted to find a product with lower calories so he can keep eating but get fewer calories from the food. I also wanted to find a food that tasted well so he didn't have to suffer from eating bad tasting food to lose weight. This was the perfect dog food for him. He liked the taste but the calories are lower. So we continued to give him the same amount of food and the same amount of exercise. After about two months, we could see that he had lost weight and was nice and healthy again. Quality of Ingredients The ingredients are of high quality and they also seem to taste good. My dog never hesitated to start eating. And because a lot of the ingredients are natural, it helped my dog lose some weight as well. Flavor Selection The flavor selection is decent. I used the original and my dog seemed to like that so I did not have to try the others.

Works for our lab!

4

We have been using this product for several years now because my lab has sensitive skin and with other dog foods, she was losing her hair. Although she still loses some hair with this dog food, it is greatly reduced compared to other dog foods we have tried her on. We have had her to the vet several times, she doesn't have fleas or anything like that to irritate her skin. When we have tried other dog foods, even when her skin is good after being on this food, it goes back to being dry, flaky, itchy and falling out on other dog foods. I love that we don't have to worry as much when she is on this food. She is much happier since she is no longer itching all over the place. She likes to go outside and play and has the energy to do that when using this food. On other dog foods, she would lose a strip of hair along her spine and look like a skunk, after that the rest of her hair on other parts of her body would start falling out by the clumps. That does not happen when using this dog food.

Great for my dog with seasonal allergies

This food is fantastic.  It has been so wonderful for my dog with seasonal allergies.  Ever since we put her on this food she itches far less and has softer fur.  I highly recommend anyone who has a dog with seasonal allergies ask your vet about putting your pet on this food.

I am the proud owner of a terrier mix with more skin problems than you can imagine. She suffers from fleas and meat allergies to dry skin and everything in between. ;). After several years of feeding her a poor diet and trying to supplement omega acids and other remedies to help her skin problems our vet recommended Science Diets Sensitive Skin. It is Formulated with high levels of skin-essential nutrients such as vitamin E and Vitamin C Omega and Fatty Acids to help with dry skin and other coat problems. According to the Science Diet bag these are all the ingredients included in this dog food: Brewers Rice, Ground Whole Grain Corn, Corn Gluten Meal, Pork Meal, Dried Egg Product, Soybean Oil, Flaxseed, Animal Fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols and citric acid), Chicken Liver Flavor, Potassium Chloride, L-Lysine, Iodized Salt, DL-Methionine, vitamins (L-Ascorbyl-2-Polyphosphate (source of vitamin C), Vitamin E Supplement, Niacin, Thiamine Mononitrate, Vitamin A Supplement, Calcium Pantothenate, Biotin, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Riboflavin, Folic Acid, Vitamin D3 Supplement), Calcium Carbonate, Choline Chloride, Vitamin E Supplement, L-Tryptophan, preserved with Mixed Tocopherols and Citric Acid, minerals (Ferrous Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Copper Sulfate, Manganous Oxide, Calcium Iodate, Sodium Selenite), Taurine, Beta-carotene, Rosemary Extract. And here is the recommended feeding scale: 5 lb (2,3 kg) 1/2 cup (50 g) - 5/8 cup (60 g) 10 lb (4,5 kg) 3/4 cup (75 g) - 1 1/8 cups (110 g) 20 lb (9 kg) 1 1/3 cups (130 g) - 1 3/4 cups (175 g) 40 lb (18 kg) 2 1/4 cups (225 g) - 3 cups (295 g) 60 lb (27 kg) 3 cups (295 g) - 4 cups (395 g) 80 lb (36 kg) 3 2/3 cups (365 g) - 5 cups (495 g) 100 lb (45 kg) 4 1/3 cups (430 g) - 6 cups (595 g) Within about a week of feeding our dog this food we noticed a change in her skin and coat. You could actually see that is was working and her scratching was starting to decrease. I also like that Science Diet is a name brand that I feel confident in trusting. There have been so many dog food problems recently that I want to know I am giving my dog the best I can. Hill's Science is even so confident in their product that they provide a money back guarantee.

Started to use this formula when it was recomended by a breeder for my shepherd mix who was having horrible skin problems. Since going on this formula, the trips to the vet for medication have stopped as the skin irritation has disapeared. The change took only 1 month - we were thrilled! Kaya - for not having to go to get a shot - and me because she was finally comfortable enough to enjoy being petted again! It has really helped here and I can't say enough about it. It also decreased the amount of food she eats, as it gives her the nutrition she needs without fillers, so she is no longet constantly begging for food.Due to the change in her I then switched all my dogs over to it. Amazing change in their coats also! Soft, shiny and healthy!

This dog food does what it claims it does!!

Our Pug has terrible allergies and dry skin. She would scratch so bad that she would have wounds on the top of her head from scratching so much. It was awful! She was miserable. Our vet recommended the Science Diet for Sensitive Skin, and it makes a world of difference! No more dry skin and scratching, and rolling on the floor to scrath her back. She also used to have to get steriod shots to help with the dry skin and itching, but not anymore. It is more expensive than other dog foods, but so worth it, especially compared to the vet bills.

Perfect for allergy prone dogs!

This is the perfect solution for your dog if it is experiencing allergies and itchy flaky skin.  After 2 years of trying to figure out what was wrong with my black lab mix, I finally tried this amazing food and it solved all of her skin issues.  She was completely bald up her sides and her legs from itching and biting.  They kept trying to test her for mites and issues like that and I kept trying to tell them she did not have mites.  I took her to a dermatologist and specialists and spent tons of money.  They wanted to continuously run tests and make me spend more and more when all I had to do was try changing her diet.  Not one of them ever suggested this option!  Bella is now 11 years old and has been without skin issues for many years now.  The only problem we are now having is the weight issues which I'm assuming comes from all the fatty acids and whatnot that she needs for good skin.  However, she is now a senior with arthritis so I am unfortunately having to try new options to help her with these issues.  Hopefully her skin problems do not come back.  I do reccommend Science Diet in any form even if the cost is higher!

My dog gets more compliments than I do.

Science Diet has done wonders for my dog. When I first rescued my dog from an SPCA he was nothing but skin and bones, very thin, dull coat, and was bald on his belly almost up to his chest. We didn't know much about dog food then and tried the common brands you see in the grocer and his skin would go through periods of redness and rashes until he began to loose it all over. My poor dog looked like he had mange but it wasn't, it just looked that bad. He would itch so bad that he would scratch until he bled and cause bald spots with scabbing. Our vet put him on steriods and antibiotics and he really didn't get better until we switched his food. We started him on Science Diet and he's been on it ever since. It took a long time for him to grow back his coat but he did and now he even has new fur on his belly! Sure it costs a bit more but my dog is much happier and healthier so it's worth it.
