A real workshorse!

This vacuum has been working for many years and is still going strong! It has many attachments that are carried right along with the vacuum itself, so they are available whenever you need to switch from floor/rug to using the hose and the appropriate tool. I use this vacuum on both my carpeted bedroom and upstairs, as well as our tile and wood floors. It has a switch that allows you to change surfaces, so the suction works properly for the specific surface chosen. When using the attachments, it does take a little wrangling to set up, but it's not that bad and it is fairly quick to accomplish. I use the hose and attachments to reach underneath furniture, and to clean our sofa and loveseat cushions. It easily vacuums up all the junk underneath the cushions and when completed the couch seems to have a renewed feel to it. This vacuum comes with several very practical attachments such as: small head for pillows, cushions and couch frames, pointy tool for getting into corners and crevices, a brush tool for edges and dusty areas that you can't reach any other way. I really like this vacuum. It will need to be replaced soon, but I plan to use it until it dies. I got my moneys worth out of it and then some!

Never again....

I have long haired pets. The dog sheds a lot . I definitely would not recommend this to pet owners. When running the vacuum it would gather fur around roller and spit clumps of fur out of the back of the vacuum every few minutes. Then you would have to pick up the clump by hand or suck it up with the accessory. A real pain in the butt. Maneuverability It moves as most upright vacuums do I suppose Ease of Maintenance Bag changes are easy Suction Performance With the problem mentioned previously I can't quite give a satisfactory. Versatility It does come with attachments so I have to grant a satisfactory for that. Durability It still runs. That is about all I can say here.

Works okay, but ready to get another vacuum

We have had this vacuum for while (at least five years) and it gets the job done but not very happy with it. This Hoover vacuum is heavy and hard to carry up and down the stairs. Also, the self-propelled feature stopped working a long time ago and so we can't even use it anymore. However, it does have several attachment options which are great for cleaning various rooms in the house, cars floorboards, and child seats. Overall, it works pretty well but would prefer a lighter model with features with last and not brake so easily. Maneuverability The vacuum can be pushed around the house pretty well until stairs and then it is hard to pick up and move to the next floor. Ease of Maintenance My husband has changed the belts on it without any issues. The vacuum bags are easy to swap out. Suction Performance The suction seems okay but can tell when the bag gets close to full as it does not work as well. Versatility We have used this vacuum to clean out high chairs, playrooms, and high traffic areas of the house and has worked pretty well. It also works okay on hard wood flooring and baseboards. Design Don't think that the self-propelled feature functions well on this model long-term.. Also, the weight of the vacuum is not a good design. Durability The vacuum has lasted for several years now (and various houses/rooms) w/o any issues (minus the push feature).

Love my Hoover WindTunnel

5

I love my Hooover WindTunnel Bagged Vacuum. It is fairly priced and works great. I have used bagless vacuums in the past, but I am grossed out by having to clean the vacuum after almost every use. Plus, I just do not have time for that extra step. The Hooover WindTunnel Bagged Vacuum can be used for months without having to change the bag. It does an excellent job cleaning my floors. I use it on carpet, tile, and rugs. I also use the attachments to clean pet hair off the furniture. It is used about every other day and it is still in perfect condition. It holds up great even though it is often banged around. It is easy to use and easy to maintain.

Overall good performance, with some annoying features

The vacuuming power of this machine is very good. I never feel like it's half-hearted in its suctioning power. The attachments give a good variety and reach well into all kinds of places, including general air vacuuming. I know that sounds weird, but if you've ever had a moth infestation, being able to leave a vacuum out in the kitchen and powergrab moths at night is a great help in reducing the problem. Self-propelled feature works well, controls for that are easy to use, and the vacuum has an effective setting to switch from carpet to hard floor. Like others here, I do have a complaint with the attachments staying attached. Be prepared for the hoses to come disconnected if you stretch too far with an attachment. They fall off, and need a design feature where they twist and snap on instead of just pushing on and pulling off with little friction.

Dependable vacuum great value

I have had this vacuum cleaner for almost 12 years and have never had one issue with it at all. It is easy to use and easy to change the bags. Maneuverability I don't use the self propelled feature because it seems a little jerky to me but it is easy to push and maneuver without using it. Ease of Maintenance Easy to change the bags and the filters in just a few minutes. Suction Performance Good suction power on carpets and hard wood floors. Versatility Easy to change from carpet to hard floors and easy to change from the vacuum to using the attachments. Not really great for use on stairs, it can be done but it is kinda awkward. Design I like the way every thing is right within reach on the vacuum. Durability I have had for almost 12 years without a problem.

Good vacuum

We got this vacuum used, at a garage sale a few years ago. (3 years, I think). And it has stood up to time beautifully. Not knowing it's history, it has lasted us through a bunch of pets, and moving twice. The only downside are the bags, as buying vacuuming bags is a drag. I would definitely buy it again though, just for it's durability. Versatility The attachments aren't great.

Couldn't ask for more in a Vaccuum

5

After I started suffering from back problems my late husband bought me a Hover Windtunnel self propelled vaccuum. It is the most wonderful thing not to have to push a vaccuum. There has only been two things that have been a bother about it in the last 7 years. The fact that if you have kids and pets that the hair and other things stop up the brushes and hoses, and the other is the lever press that lets the handle down for you to vaccuum, it was much to easy to break off. However they are easy to replace. If you want a vaccuum that out last pets and kids buy the Hover windtunnel. I like the bags, they are much cheaper than filters.

Not Happy

I have had the Hoover Windtunnel Bagged for less than three years. Suction is awful again for the second time since I have owned it! Three years!!! Seriously? I have a Hoover Elite II from 1991 that the suction is better on than the newer vacuum! I already had it fixed once after it was 6 months old! I checked everything: hoses, changed bag, belt, agitator. Everything seems in working order. Very frustrated!!! May buy new vacuum if not still under warranty. It wont be another Hoover Windtunnel!!

This vaccum sucks up a storm and then some

I said time and time again I wasn't going to do a review on my new vacuum because I love it so much and I have jinxed myself before when I did a review and then the vacuum took a dive, but I think I have had my Hoover long enough to let you know about it and what I think of it. **The Hoover Wind Tunnel Supreme Bagged Uright** **Vacuum**  is a wonderful little vacuum with A LOT of suction! At one point I chose to go with the bagless models and just didn't have any luck with them.  So like my phones I went back to the old versions...The phone went back to a cord and the vacuum went back to a bag. I do not regret my choice on either.  (My husband thought a cordless phone would be better and replaced my corded phone and I told him to leave my vacuum alone.  At last I found one that worked and works well. The Hoover Wind Tunnel does use bags, but still has the wind tunnel action. I am amazed everytime I turn it on and it starts to travel.  There is a little on board green that that lets me know if my carpet is really clean.  If I don't see the light, I give it a few more sweeps. It has 12 amps of power and has a 31 foot cord ( I go everywhere without replugging it in somewhere else to continue to vacuum.  It also has a washable filter (wonderful) and on board tools. I just vacuumed so I am for a few days...My Hoover has been sucking strong and really doing the job on cat hair and what ever my hubby can get in the carpet.  I'm am very happy with my Hoover...it has a bag and I am proud of it!  Sometimes it's nice to step back to the old version of a product with a new twist.
