Lightweight

Moves quite easily over any surface. Has a great suction power and picks up everything in it's path. Very light weight. Versatile and maneuvors around tight spots. Maneuverability easy to move as it's light weight capability. Gets in tight places Ease of Maintenance With the press of a button, you're able to click, dump and return to its usage position. Easy to clean. The container that catches the dirt can be cleaned easily. Appears to have no electrical components in this portion of the machine and can be cleaned in the sink. Hoses are detachable and unit has several attachments to clean different types of surfaces. Can clean furniture, drapes, and mats. For that matter even in tight areas. Suction Performance Took some adjustment initially to get the vacuum to suck properly, but is easy to use now. Great suction power. Picks up everything in it's path. The area that stores the debri can handle a lot of dirt. Probably up to a gallon of dirt.

Hoover WindTunnel Self-Propelled Bagged Vacuum is an okay vacuum

3

For the price, my Hoover WindTunnel Self-Propelled Bagged Vacuum gets the job done. It's nothing fancy or special but it cleans my carpets well. I don't use it for my hard floors - I prefer a cannister for that. Maneuverability This vacuum is big so it doesn't fit under furniture or in corners well unless you use your tools. It's best for a large wide open area. Ease of Maintenance There's nothing much to do except change the bag every two week or so. I did have a loose hose when I bought this unit and wrote to the company. They immediately sent me a new one at no charge. Suction Performance This vacuum sucks up dirt and dog hair just as good as any expensive model. Versatility I only use this vacuum for my carpets and it's too large for steps so it's not really a versatile cleaner. Design My biggest complaint is that the cord is very short so I have to stop and unplug and plug back in often during my cleaning process. Durability The Hoover WindTunnel Self-Propelled Bagged Vacuum has lasted me four years already so it's pretty durable for the cheap price.

Awesome Hardcore Vacuum! Phone Cords Beware!

5

I went to the store looking for something sturdy, bagged, and with a long cord. What I really wanted was a grandma vacuum of the olden days: the metal frame, the upholstery fabric bag-holder with the steel zipper and woven cord... but they don't make those anymore. The reason for this was that my last three vacuums were bag-less types. They were marketed as being "cleaner" and "lightweight". But I'm older and wiser now, and out the money for THREE vacuums in less than a decade, and I know I need a DURABLE, HEAVY-DUTY vacuum that won't have me literally picking up after it. It's not attractive. It doesn't have a million attachments you'll never have a chance to use before it breaks. It's hard to turn around corners, and it's a little on the heavy side. It's also VERY powerful. I actually sucked up my fiancé's phone charger with it by accident. It ripped it out of the power strip it was plugged into and chewed the USB connector off the end of the wire. It also tried to eat up the 1/4" rubber mat the dog's food dishes sit on. It devoured the corner of my bathroom rug, shredding the rubber gripping off the bottom of it. So pay attention! If you're used to those wimpy bag-less things that you could run over a cheerio 100 times and never pick it up, you're going to have to adjust to this. Make sure you're not going over anything you don't want to disappear. Did I mention it does bare/hard floors, too? I have all but stopped sweeping. I just kick down the selector and do the kitchen, the entry, and the bathroom while I'm vacuuming the carpets. I live in a small two bedroom apartment and the cord is long enough that I don't have to move the plug. I've vacuumed 2-3 times a week for three months and haven't had to change the bag yet, and that's with a 2 year old and a pomeranian. I really can't say enough good things about it. It's been three months and I still rave about it to my fiancé (who, of course, doesn't UNDERSTAND!). Don't buy another TRENDY, WUSSY "vacuum". Buy this. Versatility It only has one brush/hose attachment, so it's not the most "versatile" if you're talking about using it to dust your ceiling (who does that?) or dry clean with or something (haha I have no idea) but it does do bare floors and that is AWESOME. Also, those annoying attachment things usually don't work and just fall off all the time while you're trying to use the regular vacuum part anyway. Which is why I still give this hoover a 9. Design It's designed like a vacuum instead of a fancy pants high-tech gadget of the future. And it's GREAT. Durability I wouldn't get in the ring with it.

Good, but not as great as hoped for...

This Hoover vacuum may have been "top-rated by a leading national consumer magazine" for years now, but it's not as convenient or easy to use as you might expect! Maneuverability It's easy enough to push and turn, actually easier than the Eureka 2870 this replaced, even with the self propulsion turned off. That self-propulsion takes some getting used to, though. It works both forwards and backwards, but for some people, it may be considered jerky and unnatural in feel, so try it out before you buy! Ease of Maintenance Belts and common clog areas seem easy to access, and the self-propelled unit is packaged well under the vacuum, so it's not in the way for most maintenance issues Suction Performance Good suction from the brush head, and fantastic suction from the hose and tools, much better than the Eureka 2870 I had before! Cleaning performance on carpet is very good, but not quite the best out there; the performance in picking up pet hair is only so-so Versatility It has a full compliment of tools onboard, including a power brush run by the vacuum's suction; they are all included in the tools with the vacuum Design It's easy enough to use everyday, with a large power switch and smooth height controls, but the switch to turn the self-propulsion on/off feels really junky and tends to stick partway between on and off; I found it is easier to use if you hold the handle halfway up when adjusting this switch. The power cord, when wrapped around the two pegs like it's supposed to be, partially gets in the way of the carrying handle Durability No problems yet, but you wonder about the long-term durability of that self-propulsion unit, always pushing and pulling the vacuum around like that. Again, that self-propulsion switch does not inspire confidence in the long run

Hoover self propelled vacuum

Hoover self-propelled stop working less than a year after I purchased it. Smells like something burning. I replaced the belts but that didn't help. Self-propelled just stopped working. All that money for a very poor machine. Durability self-propelled didn't last long even with new belts

The Hoover WIndTunnel fits our family's needs perfectly!

5

The Hoover WIndTunnel Self-Propelled Bagged Vacuum was just what our family needed! Our old vacuum seemed to leave more dirt behind than it picked up! Not so for the Hoover WIndTunnel - with it's "embedded dirt finder," this self-propelled Hoover even has lights that go from red to green when the dirt has been vacuumed off your rug! or floor! Maneuverability With it's self-propulsion, it is easy to move, and it's rubberized edges keep you from nicking walls you may accidentally hit. Ease of Maintenance It has a large-capacity bags that are quite easy to put on and take off when full. Suction Performance Love, love, love how it grabs all the dirt! Versatility The only complaint I have is that the Hoover WindTunnel, because it is bit heavy, is not the easiest to use on stairs. It does though have three hose extensions that are great for getting dirt and cobwebs from under couchs and up walls and ceilings too. It even has a small attachment for vacuuming couches and chair cushions.

Great Vaccum!

This is a Great vaccum for the price we paid for it. I really liked that I could push a button and it would make it SO much easier to push around practically could go by itself. Especially since I was pregnant when we had this machine. The price makes it SO affordable too. The suction wasn't the greatest but if I kept it cleaned out and taken care of it didn't do to bad still could use some work in that area if you want my opinion. We did have to change the belt one time as I ran over and sucked something up that I was not suppose to. :( My husband said it was really easy to fix so that was good. Also it is very easy to change the bag which is a huge plus for me! Loved that! It looks really nice too. We had this vaccum for about 7 years which is really pretty long for these kind of vaccums. Would I recommend this to someone else? hmmm ya think so. But probably just because its a good vaccum for your money but if you want really good suction and are particular about that don't buy it. Hope that helps someone who is trying to make a decision. :)

A powerful (and pretty!) machine.

I've had two hoover windtunnels in my life and have been very happy with both of them. True, this is not the "status vacuum" that lives on hype and falls short where it counts. This is the workhorse that will appeal to those of us who just want to get the carpet clean. I think the "green means clean" indicator lights are genius because they show you that the vacuum is actually still sucking up debris. You'd be surprised how long it takes sometimes for it to indicate that it's done. It's heavy, but it does have the self-propelled setting if you find you need it. I don't have pets, but I do have both carpet and hardwood and am impressed with it's performance on both surfaces. The blue color is very pretty, too!

Good vacuum for every day life

My Husband did research before we invested in this vacuum for my every day needs around the house. It has more then met my needs as well as my families needs. Maneuverability I've had no issue going around furniture and under as well. Ease of Maintenance I have just had to empty the vacuum when full. No big maintenance problems have been had by me or my family to date. Suction Performance it picks up the dirt and then some. It seems to be very dusty in our home and this is great for floor boards, floors and ceiling fans. I have no complaints. Versatility I use it not just for carpets, but for floor boards, ceiling fans etc. Design No complaints about the design. I like that it's not just for floors but you can use it for many things. The attachment is good for cleaning furniture and even lamp shades. Durability My nick name is grace, so I can bang things up with the best of them. It has taken quite the beating and it keeps performing beautifully.
