Must - Have!

5

When my son was born I had 3 slings given to me; my hotsling a more traditional carrier, and a Lamaze style carrier. The hotsling was definitely my favorite! When I first started using it I had a hard time getting used to it. I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be bunched up on my shoulder or come down over my shoulder smoothly. After I had been using it a while I finally watched the instructional video and duh... should have done that first. It was so much easier and more comfortable after that. I never went to Wal-Mart without it. My son was so much happier in it than in his car seat carrier. It is a little expensive, but very worth it! It was so hard to pick a print because they are all so adorable. I got the red one with poppies and have had so many compliments. It can definitely be an outfit accessory! It was hard to decide what size I should get when I was still pregnant, but luckily, I guessed correctly. When a friend saw how much I enjoyed it she got one too. Baby's Comfort Babies (especially newborns) feel very secure. Durability Now have a second son and enjoyed using it with him too. Holds up great in the washing machine.

The best baby carrier!

5

I love this sling and wish I had gotten it with my first son. I tried the carriers but could never adjust them easily or put my baby in them alone! Other slings looked a little dangerous - held by knots or slip rings, too padded, so wrapped around it look impossible to do on the go. But I tried the Hotsling with my second son and absolutely love it!! I wish he wasn't outgrowing it now at almost 3 yrs old!! I think this is the best because you can put your baby to toddler in the carrier, on your own in seconds and be comfortably on the go! Now, I would not use an infant in it, and I think the instructions may suggest the baby be able to hold his head up before using the sling, but I found this was such a lifesaver when out, shopping or even around the house! I could do so much hands free while holding my baby! Shopping was a breeze and he often slept in the carrier. Very comfortable for everyone all around, and could easily be removed or rearranged on my own in seconds. Once my son got older, the hip old was my favorite every. Super comfortable for him, I am able to hold/carry him hands free, and he is at my eye-leve so this is just the best for trips to the zoo. Just slip him in and off you go! It comes with a great instructional dvd so you don't have to worry about trial and error attempts from not so great drawings. It is easy to see what to do and how to do it. Do measure carefully and be careful not to dry them as they will shrink! But sometimes shrinking can be good too! I could carry my son for hours in this sling without getting tired, no aching back and my hands were free to do anything I needed to do. Just the best helper to a busy mom!! Safety Follow the video to be sure you are placing a young child in correctly. One strip of material insures you child will not fall out and it won't come apart on you. No tricky buckles to latch. Easy to get children of all ages in and out. Baby's Comfort They sleep soundly in it and enjoy being close in a variety of environments. Parents' Comfort Awesome! Balances their weight well, rarely uncomfortable. easy to adjust. I used mine until my son turned 3 and was becoming too heavy to be comfortable for long. we loved it! Ease of Use Easy in, easy out. You can totally do this on your own and quickly too Design These are well designed with various material for different climates and lovely designs. Durability I used mine for 3 years and then passed it on to a friend to use too. They have improved the design so I would buy another in a heartbeat if I was crazy enough to have a third child!

great for a newborn

I was looking for a safe, secure sling or wrap to carry my newborn around in the house. This was my first try and although I liked it, it did have some down sides. First the up: the fabric is soft and comfortable for baby and mommy. It's small and compact so can be toted anywhere easily when not in use. The prints are attractive! The not so great: When I leaned forward I would myself having to hold the baby in. It sits on one shoulder and thus the baby's weight is unequally supported. After my baby hit 15lbs, I couldn't carry him in it anymore. I do not know how others carry an older baby comfortably. I tried grocery shopping while he napped. He slept peacefully the entire time. Myself on the other hand, I couldn't wait to be finished because my one shoulder ached! So I find this okay for newborns, but not much else. I moved on to a different carrier.

Awesome sling, Perfect for a plus size mom!

I am not typically a baby wearer or carrier. I mostly used the stroller. When my second daughter was born and I was chasing after a 2 year old, I thought a sling might be helpful. I tried the other type where the baby sits in the pouch with the leg holes. That killed my back. I couldn't wear it. I wasn't ready to give up though. I was nervous about finding something that would work for me. I was a pretty big girl in the plus size range. I had heard a lot of good things about the Hotslings. I checked out their website and was excited to see they were sold in sizes and extended into the plus size range. I ordered one right away. I got a lot of use out of that sling. It was so easy to use. It was a neutral color so it worked well with everything. I tucked my little one in there and we headed out for walks, to the zoo, to the park. It was comfortable for both her and I. She loved being close to me and snuggled in. I would recommend this sling to all moms.

Must have but beware it shrinks

I heard about this product from a close girlfriend when I had my second daughter who was born with colic. She always had to be in my arms in order for her to be calm. However, I had a two year old at the time that was almost potty trained so between a newborn and needing to tend to my two year old it was hard to constantly hold her. It made it harder to do light household work while my husband was working because that left me as the only one to hold her. So when my girlfriend saw me going through this she gave me a link to hotslings. I bought one and tried it out. I absolutely loved it. It has several different positions you can hold your baby in making it easy for your little one to adjust to. It keeps your hands free while allowing you to wash dishes, vaccum, cook dinner and etc. It helps them feel like they are in the mother's womb. The only downfall about this product is that it shrinks in the wash.

HotSling wasn't what I expected

2

After I found out I was pregnant, I knew I wanted to own a sling to carry my baby closely to me for his happiness and my own. I found several different types of slings out there and had no idea what to get. A friend suggested the HotSling to me and said she loved it. After doing my measurements I purchased one. It felt a little tight. The material doesn't stretch at all. What was worse was when I placed my baby into it, it seemed to scrunch him up so much that he hated it. I couldn't get him comfortable in the sling and I felt like I was squishing him. I couldn't get him into the sling by myself and had to have my husband help me lift him into it and position him just right. Once we finally got him in, he just cried because he was so squished. I finally got him to go to sleep after walking with him in the sling for about an hour, but then I got so hot with him snuggled next to me that I wasn't comfortable at all. I would not recommend this sling to use on a baby older than a couple of months. The quality of the material is nice and there are a great variety of colors to choose from. It is a bit expensive though and not worth the money, time and effort I had to use when my son didn't like it anyway.

Hotslings can be comfortable and convienent.

I had a hotslings pouch with my second child, and we liked it a lot. It was comfortable for both mom and baby, and was stylish. It folds down small; small enough to just toss in the diaperbag. This makes it the perfect just-in-case baby carrier. It is washable, but you can't really throw it in the dryer. They have been known to shrink. And since Hotslings are sized, fitted pouches, shrinkage would not be good. Speaking of Hotslings being fitted, you have to choose your size carefully. If it is too big, the baby will sit too low and it will strain your back. If it is too small, the baby will be uncomfortable and so will you. The pouch will feel too tight. The website advises you to order two different sizes, and return the one that doesn't fit. This is a pretty smart idea, but I think that Hotslings are a little bit pricey for what they are. I'm not really wanting to order two, even knowing that one will be returned and refunded. When you get a good fit, Hotslings are comfortable and convienent.

Not good everyone

2

This was my first ever baby carrier and I must say I was very disappointed. First of all, it is not good for women who have large breats, but smaller waists. I had to get one of the smaller sizes so that my baby was not hanging down too low, but in turn his face would be buried in my breasts and I was afraid I was going to suffocate him. This also made it basically impossible to breast feed in, we were never able to get a good latch going if he was smooshed up against me. Then after wearing it for a while, it really started to take a toll on your back. I found myself only being able to wear it for short periods, which in turn made it to where I was waking up my baby in order to get him out since I was in pain. I think I would have liked it better if it was maybe made out of a more stretchy fabric. I did however like it once he started sitting up and I could have him in the hip carry, it was nice to be able to hold him and not have to use both hands, I did however always keep one arm around him because it didn't feel completely secure to me.

Great Invention and Very High Quality

I received a hotsling baby pouch carrier from a friend as a gift. I couldn't believe how well made this product is. The hotsling design features a padded area for the baby's legs which I think is just genius. When I received the sling, my first thought was, "how do I use this thing" and my friend explained there are many videos on youtube. Sure enough, youtube features "how-to" videos officially posted by the Hotslings company. The videos show several different ways to properly use the baby sling and also has a video devoted just for troubleshooting common user errors. The video support is tremendous and with just a little practice I was a babywearing momma. I would recommend a hotsling to any mom as they allow you to carry your baby while doing other tasks around the house such as laundry. In addition, I have a lot of respect for a company that takes the time to post videos of how to use their product on youtube.

hot sling

I got this hotsling because i saw a mom using one one day and i liked how she took it out of her idaper bag, threw it over her shoulder and put the baby in. no fuss, very compact. it also looked like it held the baby more comfortably than the snuggli that i already had. i got one and used it on my newborn, but it was a little trickier for me that the other mom made it look. i finally got the hang of it, but i was worried about the baby's neck and head either being too scrunched forward or if it was back enough it seemed like therew as too much fabric covering the baby's face and it made me nervous. i tried the moby after that and i liked it better, though there was much more fabric and fuss than the hotsling. the hotsling was good for when i had to have something quick so i could hold the baby and have my hands free for my older son at the same time, but i wouldn't wear it all the time becuase, like i said, it was hard to know if the baby was in a safe position, my baby wasnt a huge fan either.
