I will not be buying this brand of canned dog food again. I bought several brands of Iams canned dog food because I had a coupon for it several months ago. This doesn't smell right or look right. I know dog food isn't supposed to look appetizing, but this is some of the nastiest dog food I've ever bought. I gave it to my dog anyway, and he's a dog so of course he ate it anyway, but I will not buy it again. Quality of Ingredients I bought several cans of the Iams Adult Ground Dinner with Beef and Rice and it didn't even have beef as the main ingredient. Chicken was the first meat ingredient. The ingredients in this dog food are Water, Chicken, meat by-products, chicken by-products, beef, ground rice, dried egg product, carrageenan, flaxseed meal, cassia gum, potassium chloride, and added color. There are a lot of additives in this food, which is why it doesn't look right, or smell right. The meat by-products could be anything, something is wrong with a company that just labels something as meat! Flavor Selection I couldn't believe that my dog really liked this food, but then he's a dog. I'm not going to feed it to him again, but I wasn't going to throw it away either. I really don't recommend this dog food.

We certainly want to feed our little dog healthy foods and I really struggle with giving them canned food for several reasons but I think after trying Iams canned food I see giving her the canned food a couple times a week and her dry iams the rest of the time. I based my decision on the ingredients that go into each. Quality of Ingredients I noted that the canned dog food has sunflower oil in it and probably it would depend on the quality of the sunflower oil being used and how much. I do think that the oil in the wet food has made her coat shiny and her eyes even seem brighter. Flavor Selection There are at least five different types of Iams canned food. It is a real challenge as far as I am concerned finding the right food for your pet and their needs. The one big things that Iams has going for it over all of the other brands of pet food is their statement of faith in their product Their warranty. "Love the Iams difference or or your money back.

I have a small Chihuahua who doesn't know he's small but he has to have food that he can fit in his tiny mouth so I try to get him smaller sized chunks when I buy him chunky food. These Small Bites are great for small mouths. The smaller sized bits of meat are perfect for for my dog and he gobbles them up without any issues. The gravy is nice and thick and there is plenty of it in proportion to the meat bites. The ingredients are good but not fabulous. I'm not overly thrilled that these contain grains since I usually try to go grain free whenever possible but it's a decent food with good nutrition. I like that this is readily available and I don't need to make a special trip to a specialty food store when I want to stock up. The can size is good but a bit too much for my dog to finish for a single meal since he does also have dry food. I've found that he'll eat about three quarters of a can so there is a bit of waste, but not much. Overall this is a good quality food and is worth a look.

The Iams Small Bites dog food smells horrible! When I first opened the can, I almost got sick from the smell. I had a Yorkshire Terrier at the time, and I didn't think she would mind the smell. I put the food down, and she ran away after smelling it. I had just gone to the store and picked up this dog food, and it was all I had for her. The store was closed, and it was too late to go get her something else. I kept putting the Iams Small Bites in front of her so she would realize that's all she had to eat. She eventually caved and ate the food, and then she started to act strange. She was sitting in the middle of the house and whimpering. After ten minutes of this, she threw up everywhere. Even after throwing up, she still wasn't acting right. It wasn't until the next morning that she was back to her playful self. I thought maybe it was just a bad can, so I opened another one. It had the small horrible smell. I don't know what's wrong with this food, but do not buy it!

This dog food was absolutely horrible! Not only did it smell disgusting, it looked that way, too! My dog didn't seem to mind these factors, however, a few hours later he had a bellyache and diarrhea all over the house. The poor little guy was so sick. I did go to the vet and she didn't seem surprised that the food was the most likely culprit. It even made him very gassy, we were on a cooked rice and chicken diet after that for a couple days. I was never the biggest fan of iams from a previous pet that had ate it, however, a friend recommended it so I gave it a second chance! BIG FAT MISTAKE! Quality of Ingredients I'm sure the ingredients they tell you about are ok, it must be all of the other preservatives and nastiness in it that gave my dog a belly ache. It doesn't even look like chicken, it truly has an awful smell and a funky color. Flavor Selection My dog loves chicken flavored or with chicken products. I actually think he liked this, too until after he was done eating. He really hasn't been keen on wet food since this happened. Not that it matters, I feed him a raw organic kibble now!

Iams even makes a wet food for small breeds. It is called Iams Small Bites for Small Dogs and it makes eating less of a chore for the Chihuahuas and others. Iams Small Bites for Small Dogs is a dog food of decent quality and a quick look at the ingredients shows that there is real meat in this food as well as other desirable additives. All is not perfect, and some may question the addition of certain grains, but for the most part, the ingredients in this dog food are superior to those of other wet dog foods. Besides the ingredients, another test for any dog food is the taste test and in my dog's humble opinion, Iams Small Bites for Small Dogs is a very tasty food. The smell is what attracts dogs the most and the scent of this food, while not too appealing to us humans, is music to the nose of a small dog and they will eat the food quickly and without even taking the time to think about what they are doing. I have noticed that the enthusiasm to eat this food isn't quite as strong as with other wet dog foods, but it is still very good and your dog will finish his/her bowl in no time. Iams dog foods are generally high in quality and Iams Small Bites for Small Dogs is no exception. It is one of a handful of wet dog foods with smaller size pieces and it has enough positive qualities to earn it an easy recommendation. Quality of Ingredients Ingredients are better than those found in other wet dog foods. Flavor Selection Not many flavor selections, but dogs love what they offer.

**when i first got my Pitbull puppy i would buy this for him, he used to love this kind of food. ** **Until i stumpled over a video on youtube.com, when you go to youtube, type in the searchbar " Iams cruelty" watch the video and then decide if you ever want to buy Iams dog food again. ** **I will never buy any commercial dog food again. They have big research labs, where they hold up to 200 dogs in small cages, the dogs are fed until they burst, they do not get any love or any attention, they are treated like garbage, they just feed them and try to feed them some more, just so they can be assured they will sell their food and make a lot of money, i really recommend watching this video, i broke out in tears and i could not stop crying, how must those poor dogs feel??? they are bred to grow up in a research lab, without proper bedding, proper care, no walks, no love, nothing. If you love your pet, do not buy Iams again. ** **I am not sure if they have changed the way they test their dog food, but to be honest after seeing this, it does not really matter. i would not buy any of this brand ever again. **

I used to have a terrible time feeding my Doxies.  They are both finicky eaters, and what one would eat, the other would not.  Until I tried Iams Small Bites.  It's wonderful!  Both dogs eat everything in their bowls, and it has really helped their digestive systems.  Thanks Iams for another great product!

Healthy Dogs!  I have 4 small dogs that has never had any other food than Iams small bites and I am happy to say that they are all very healthy and have very shinny coats. I would recommend this to anyone who wants only the best for their special little one.

This dog food was recommended to us by our vet. It has the ingredients that are needed to keep our small dogs healthy, but doesn't have those cheap filler ingredients that other brands do. We've been using it for the 8 years that we've had our yorkie and yorkie-poo, and they are doing great!
